      Story Begins…

      After some thought, Jacob decides that for his second meeting with Adam, he wants the man to come to his house. I don't think he'll be a problem, and I can beat him properly here, which is always tricky in a hotel room.

      He calls the number Adam gave him and leaves a message with the date and time, instructing Adam to call for directions.

      Adam gets the call just as he's finalizing the deal for his new car. His friend Theo had told him about a guy who was looking to get rid of a two year old Mini. The car's in great shape, and Adam and the guy were able to work out a nice casual arrangement so that Adam will be able to make monthly payments in cash.

      It's not easy to live without a reportable job, he thinks as he pulls his phone out to check his messages while driving the Mini back to his place. But it's possible.

      Jacob's message makes Adam grin. Talk about luck. An over-nighter at Jacob's place will give me two months payment on this thing with enough left over for a decent stereo system.

      The phone rings not long after Jacob had left the message. He lets it ring three times before picking up. Good afternoon.

      Jacob? It's Adam, Adam says, turning down the stereo. I'm free tonight.
