The narrative was quite interesting such that it was so charitable for a young man from a rich background in this our time to identify with the poor in the society. Considering the world of individualism and social ego, such an attitude is not a popular concept. The young man had the mentality that the essence of life is not the wealth we amass but that which we contribute to the totality of human happiness. Obviously, this is rare in our present day society and it is worthy of emulation. Onyenenue OSUYA

PREFACE

Governance in this part of the world is becoming oppressive by the day. Political leadership is fast becoming a do or die affair because of massive embezzlement of public fund. They live in another world within the state they are supposed to be governing. Their children are alienated from their immediate society, the children who their corrupt parents intend to hand over power to despite their being alienated from the society.

In the Governor's son, Alex Omolu writes of an exceptional son of a governor who against his father's will decided to be different. How was he able to break free from the blind arrogance of the elite class to identify with the sufferings of the people? From the bliss of University campus to the communal life in Obi-Udo village; spiced with his experience in politics and a unique literally skill Alex Omolu ex-rays the importance of personal transformation and compassion in leadership.

Mr. Sunny Onojaife is the CEO of Sunny Minders Consults.

DIKEADI THE BUSINESS MAN

Life is like an expedition where the entrants have no premonition of what the future is going to be. It is really exciting when the journey begins in a smooth atmosphere like bird of roses. The world will celebrate you when you are fortunate to belong to this category. However, when it begins with financial predicament or struggles just to get immediate heart desire, there will be pains, anger, regrets, sadness and so much to brood about. You will be confused searching for the genesis or the possible causes of such dehumanizing life complexities. Not much is heard from the individuals who fall into this group as they are regarded as losers and most times people look at them as parasites or being bewitched.

The contention then will be to gain control and stabilize the physiological needs of man in order to improve life where no foundation was laid. Regrettably, it is difficult in a dwindling and turbulent economy. Sometimes it is often attributed to man's destiny, and the basic principles of life which man has little or no power to alter because they are largely determined by the grace of Almighty God.

The pragmatic society is quick to identify where there is a case of indolence, wrong plans by the individual, inability to plan and lacunas in government economic policies. But the most painful aspect of this is when the cause of man's struggle is created artificially as a result of corruption and embezzlement of public fund. The case of Mr. Dikeadi's genealogy may leave one pondering over the indices of luck, time, hard work and environmental factors which plays a significant role in the success of human beings in life. Mr. Dikeadi was one of the wealthiest merchants of his time who traded with Europeans in days of British colonization of Nigeria. He was a dedicated and trusted trader which brought him so close to the British. In fact, at a point his business associates solicited for his fortnight visitation to Europe so that they can give him a warm reception, as invaluable achievements had been made through him but he declined for fear of the unknown.

Mr. Dikeadi had not travelled outside the shores of his country before. He neither had boarded a plane nor a ship before. He had always enjoyed staying and playing with his family and doing his business from his own country. After so much pressure he agreed to the offer of just staying for four nights but he was educated that fortnight is a period of two weeks and not four days as he thought, so they flew to Europe. He hadn't the zeal and knowledge for formal education so communication was a little barrier between him and his business associates, although he managed with the help of gesticulation and interpretation where necessary.

On that day, they boarded a plane and as they travelled he was so scared but eventually got relaxed when life of sophisticated luxury played its role. He enjoyed his stay in Europe because he was taken to so many tourist centers and he knew immediately that these centers are distinguished by their architectural beauty and colourful topography. When he returned to his country he was so excited that he told his children and family members how nice and organized the place is.

He swore that his children will go to school and acquire formal education in order to reduce the stress of life especially in African countries. Before now he was skeptical about training his children because he never saw the value of education, but now he knows better. Since that day he became serious with matters of education. One of his children, Nwakama, did well in school so he travelled far and wide for his studies because he gave him all the support he needed. He never
