Chapter 1: Diabetes and A Realistic Diet Plan
Suffering from the symptoms of diabetes doesn’t have to be as complicated as some believe it is if you provide a daily healthier diet outlook on the foods you consume. You can help ‘ward-off' the complications with a healthy eating plan which can control your blood sugar, while at the same time help lower your risks of heart disease and cancer. These are some of the ways a healthy diet can improve your life:
Improves Your Overall Health
The amount of inflammation in your body can be reduced with a healthy diet—as well as decreasing the triglycerides, bad cholesterol {LDL}; it also increases the good cholesterol {HDL}.
Another diabetic complication, metabolic syndrome, is remedied with healthy carbohydrate sources in foods such as olive oil, nuts, and lean protein choices. The condition is presented with many conditions including elevated, blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol which are all stressors that work as a team to cause issues including diabetes, strokes, and heart disease.

These are the food groups you should be most concerned with as a person with diabetes. These are the food groups you should consider as part of your diabetic plan:
Whole Grains: Oats, bulgar, brown rice, barley whole grain cereals, and bread, as well as whole wheat pasta.
Vegetables and fruits
Low-fat or fat-free dairy products: Milk, cheese, and yogurt
