About this ebook

From the million-copy bestseller Amanda Prowse, the queen of heartbreak fiction.

Amanda Prowse is the author of The Coordinates Of Loss and the no.1 bestsellers Perfect Daughter, My Husband's Wife and What Have I Done?

This is an unforgettable romance about what happens when two very different people fall in love.

Anna Cole grew up poor, but her mother's love made her feel rich every day. Then her mother died, and Anna was sent to a care home. As a teenager, Anna vowed that one day, she would have children of her own, and create the happy, noisy family life she always craved.

Then, one day, Anna meets Theo Montgomery in a lift. Theo has kind eyes, but a sad past. His family were rich, but his childhood was full of neglect. Theo can't imagine bringing a child into this cruel world, but he does want a soulmate. Someone to love him unconditionally; someone with whom he can share his family's wealth.

Theo and Anna are two damaged souls, from two different worlds. Is their love for each other enough to let go of the pain of their pasts? Or will Anna and Theo break each other's hearts?

There are two sides to every love story. This is Anna's.

Anna's side of the story.Anna is the first of a two book set and the second book, Theo, is due for release on March 8th. In this first book we hear Anna's story, in the second one we will get the other side of the coin. I'm hopeless at remembering the finer details in books, so I'm glad I won't have to wait too long for the sequel.Amanda Prowse's characters have always struggled in some way, in The Food of Love it was anorexia and in The Art of Hiding it was bereavement and moving on. This time we meet Anna, left without family from an early age and struggling to find her place in the world. She meets Theo, himself a damaged man, full of hurt and resentment. Can they make a relationship work and live happily ever after? The characterisations were excellent and the dialogue well done and I found myself looking forward to the opportunity to pick the book up and resume reading, which hasn't happened for a while. For me it didn't quite reach the level of The Art of Hiding or The Food of Love, but it was still an excellent read. I shall certainly be on the lookout for Theo's story in the near future.

Anna's mother doesn't have much money, but what she lacks in funds she makes up for in love. Anna knows her mother treasures her and she feels wanted and content. However, Anna's luck doesn't last long because her mother dies when Anna's only nine years old. Her brother tries to raise her, but he's an addict and it doesn't take long before he passes away as well. After a short stay with a cold hearted aunt Anna ends up in care, she's all alone, but promises herself she'll one day start her own family with children she loves as much as her mother loved her. She writes to her future children several times a year and loves them before they are even born.

Anna starts her adult life alone, but slowly friendships and relationships are becoming part of her world as well. When she meets Theo she knows she's found the one, but Theo is a complicated man. Theo's family has plenty of money, but his upbringing was chilly and loveless. Because of the difficulties in his early life Theo thinks he'll be a worthless father. Will staying with the man of her dreams mean Anna has to give up her biggest wish? She and Theo love each other very much, but will love be enough for them to make it as a couple?

Anna is a beautiful moving story. Anna's early childhood is ideal with much fun, plenty of love and many wonderful games. Anna can be herself and her mother is a true angel. Unfortunately Anna's mother dies way too early and Anna has to learn to take care of herself. She cherishes the days she had with her mother and remains positive even when life is incredibly tough. Anna is strong, capable and loving and she's a joy to be with. She's perfect for the troubled Theo, if only he'd open up. The walls around his heart aren't easy to break down and they're having a tough time together while they love each other deeply. I was curious to find out if they'd be able to make it and couldn't turn the pages quickly enough.

Amanda Prowse skillfully describes emotions and that makes all of her stories impressive. She manages to get to know her characters through and through and the reader gets the chance to become really close to them. It isn't hard to care about them after that and that's what I enjoy the most about her books. That includes Anna, I was genuinely interested about what would happen to her and loved each gorgeous layer of her story. The ending has made me extra eager to learn more about Theo and I really like the idea of a double love story. Anna is an excellent start of a fantastic duology and I can't wait to read Theo's half.

With every book I read by Amanda Prowse, I like her a little bit more. Her characters feel real, with all their imperfections and imperfect reactions to the things life throws their way. “Anna” is no exception. The premise of “Anna”, and “Theo” which follows, is that it is one love story that’s told from two points of view, that of each half of a couple. Anna is the first, and while it isn’t a first person narrative, we do see things from her point of view. Anna is a young woman who’s had an extremely difficult (and at times frightening) childhood, but nonetheless she’s able to maintain a positive outlook on life and the possibilities of the future. When she meets Theo she thinks she’s found the ideal man and that she’s stumbled into a fairytale, but despite coming from wildly different backgrounds, they’ve both had damaging childhoods that end up making their life together more difficult than they’d expected. I loved Anna’s optimism, and it broke my heart to see her struggle to maintain it. And as soon as I got to the end of her story, I went right out to find and read Theo’s story, in which we saw his background and his own struggles with life. I very much enjoyed both stories, and while there were inevitably parts that were repetitive, the difference in perspective helped that from becoming tedious.

I wanted to read this book when I first got it but life happened and the arrival of other books as well. As is the case, this book ended up in my large tbr pile. When I was looking for something to read, I grabbed this book. After reading this book, I am kicking myself that I did not read it sooner. I loved Anna. I am glad that this story is broken out into the span of two books. This way it really made Anna the focal point of this book. I did not have to sorry about any other characters but mainly her and her story. A sad but happy story it was too. Anna could have given up but she didn't. In her search for family, she did find one as well as love in the form of Theo. I can't really say much about Theo as I don't know him as well as I do Anna but that is why I want to read Theo's story. To get to know him better and to see Anna again.A is for awesomeN is for niceN is for novelty A is for Anna

When you read this story, you might be bewildered at first about how this is a love story - it starts off with Anna's childhood and subsequent traumas that help to shape who she becomes. It's quite heart-wrenching. As the book develops and she becomes an adult, she falls in love and thence begins the love story of two people who love each other deeply but one issue is slowly tearing them apart. From Anna's side, she's being asked to give up the one dream that has held her together through all her tumultuous years. Would you?
Obviously, the other side of the story is of her husband's childhood moulding and history, which I have yet to read.
