About this ebook

If you believe the Book of Revelation is a detailed and accurate account of the End of Days and how God will choose the righteous and leave the rest behind and anyone who makes fun of this sacred work is committing blasphemy...buy this book anyway. You’re in as much trouble just for reading the back cover as I am for writing the book. If you are a fan of that author who is famous for his work about green holiday haters and felines wearing head apparel...you will enjoy this book. If you are one of those rare individuals who understands that religion is sometimes just flat out ridiculous...salvation lies within. “Now the Apocalypse is fun for the whole family! Steve Case’s Fun Rhymes for the End Times brings the images of Revelation to life in true [name of famous rhyming children’s author deleted on advice of our lawyer] style. Highly recommended for readers with a good sense of humor about the end of all things.” —Justin Staller, author of The Apocalyptic Gospel “Steve Case has done it again. Frankly, I don’t know how he does it. What a great book! Once again he has written a book that makes me laugh, makes he think and teaches me theology in a wonderful and winsome way. This book will offend you, astound you, and cause you to rise up and call Steve blessed. Read this book, not just because of what you’ll learn (a lot) or because it will be 'good' for you (even though it will)...but because it fun and you’ll enjoy it. Not only that, you will thank me for telling you about it.” —Dr Steve Brown, author, broadcaster, seminary professor

Steve Case

Steve Case is one of America’s best-known and most accomplished entrepreneurs, and a pioneer in making the internet part of everyday life. He cofounded America Online in 1985, when just three percent of people were online for an average of just one hour a week. He saw the possibilities of the digital future and built AOL into the largest and most valuable internet company in the 1990s (and the first internet company to go public). Case’s passion for helping entrepreneurs remains his driving force. He was the founding chair of the Startup America Partnership—an effort launched at the White House in 2011 to accelerate high-growth entrepreneurship in every region of the country. Case also was the founding cochair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and a member of President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, where he chaired the subcommittee on entrepreneurship.  He was active in passing the bipartisan JOBS Act in 2012, which made it easier for startups to raise capital. His engagement on policy led Politico to name him “Washington’s tech whisperer” in 2017.  As chairman and CEO of Revolution, a Washington, DC-based investment firm he cofounded in 2005, Case partners with visionary entrepreneurs to build businesses such as Zipcar, Sweetgreen, Clear, Tempus, DraftKings, and many others. Case also serves as chair of the Smithsonian Institution, which under his leadership has launched a bold effort to make the best of the Smithsonian available to every home and classroom. He is also Chairman of the Case Foundation, and with his wife Jean was among the first to commit to The Giving Pledge, dedicating a majority of their wealth to charitable causes.

    INTRODUCTION

Right about the time when the calendar was flipping over 1999 to 2000 we all went just a little bit crazy. Smart minds told us our computers would stop working, the government would collapse (stock up on provisions now!), and planes would drop out of the sky and ruin a perfectly good evening of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. This did not happen.

I remember seeing a book in a catalog about the Y2K event. It was a dire warning that we were, in fact, living in the End-times. The author had unequivocal evidence that the rapture was upon us. The Revelation of St John was at hand. Jesus was coming back at 12:00:001 and we would ALL either be taken up to live with him or be left behind with the not-ready-for-end-times players. To my knowledge, Jesus slept late.

I once got into a discussion with a co-worker regarding those bumper stickers that read In Case of Rapture This Car Will Be Unmanned. I pointed out that this was a decidedly un-Christ-like way to behave. If you sincerely felt that at any moment you may be snatched up and your car would go careening into oncoming traffic possibly killing unknowing left-behinders…wouldn’t the most Christian thing be NOT to drive? Shouldn’t we make sure all bus drivers and pilots be atheist or of some other belief system? Regardless if you got raptured wouldn’t being responsible for the death of innocents be a sin? The coworker did not see the humor in this theory….not at all.

You may believe that the Book of Revelation (no S) is the actual prophesies and visions given by God to St John the Apostle.

You may believe the book is the written ramblings of a man who was imprisoned on an island and was slowly going off his nut.

You may believe the book was a work of coded messages written with a specific audience in mind; an audience who knew their ancestors were slaves and knew their descendants would be slaves.
