    About the Author

A short story sequel to The Naughty List by AR DeClerck.

    A Kiss for Krampus

He hated Christmas. The brandy in his glass wasn’t strong enough and the fire wasn’t hot enough to erase the whip of the wind or the sound of the carolers outside his door.

Brandon! he yelled crossly. Make them leave!

I’m trying, sir. Brandon was a mostly capable butler of sorts, but in this moment he was worthless. The young man was wringing his hands like an old woman.

I’ll do it myself. He stood and put his brandy on the table and straightened his coat. How dare these carolers show up at his door on the one night of the year that he was the weakest. It only served to irritate him more.

He marched to the door and threw it open, hissing at the wet droplets of snow on his face. He squinted into the darkness toward his long driveway. He chose this house because it was the farthest from the town and the road, specifically to avoid issues like this.

You there! he yelled out into the darkness. The disembodied voices were louder and more grating up close. Go away!

He stepped out onto the porch and shook his fist at the voices. To his chagrin, the song only got louder.
