Foreword

The number of single persons in the pews necessitates a work of this nature. It is often true and tragic that being single is treated as some type of disease or stigma, not only in the local church but also in family circles. The question, Aren’t you married yet?
seems to come up as a topic of conversation at family gatherings, high school reunions, and other settings. It can almost give a complex to someone who is single; but help has arrived! In this work Dr. Flemings, who married at a later age in life and can relate to what it takes to be single and yet fulfilled, gives an extremely candid look at being a successful and sanctified single!
Yes, I’m still single,
is the response of forty-two percent of the American population over age eighteen. The single and unmarried population in America is a significant group, with a lot of untapped power. Single persons make up sixty percent of our churches, yet few ministries even contemplate having a singles’ ministry. Yes, I’m Still Single, deals with the dynamics of being single in a very practical way to enhance of the lives of those who, for whatever reason, are still unmarried.
In this crucial work, Dr. Flemings addresses what to do while you are waiting to meet someone. She gives practical insights on how to live a happy life that does not depend on being with someone else. This mistake has been made by many married persons who married in order not be alone, and yet found that they were still lonely. She also deals with setting goals. Goal setting will ultimately lead to one making the best choice when it comes to relationships. Goals set direction and bring focus. They are what cause you to make a God
choice instead of just a good choice or the wrong choice. A single life is still a valuable life and she makes that clear throughout this timely work.
The setting of boundaries is a healthy dynamic in all relationships, as boundaries help us know how far things should go. How do Christians date? Do Christians date or do they court? These age old issues are all addressed in this practical handbook.
Does your church have a singles’ ministry? If not, the Lord may be leading you to begin this essential ministry that many churches overlook. Again, Dr. Flemings gives direction for birthing and getting the most out of your singles’ ministry.
She has blood on her message because she has walked it out and can tell other singles that it works! God loves married and single people alike. For the single who wants to live a consecrated life, remain balanced, and enjoy herself, then this work will encourage you! It is full of practical yet spiritual advice and strategies to possess your vessel in honor.
(1 Thessalonians 4:3-4)
Enjoy this work as you walk through the honor of being single. Whether you are single by choice, waiting to be found, or looking for that right young lady or man, this work will bless you. Singles everywhere, be encouraged! This is a long awaited handbook and is excellent for any single person trying to live a victorious and fulfilled life!

Introduction
◊◊◊
I’m so glad you picked up this book as I believe you will find it to be a very practical guide for your life as a single person. So many people do not like the term single
and will actually tell you they are NOT single, when in reality they are very much a single person. Many think that being single is like having the scarlet letter S
branded on their chest for the entire world to see. Being single does not mean you are less than, leftover, not marriage material, or any of the other phrases you may have heard to describe your single state; it is a wonderful time that can be the best years of your life as you enjoy each day of the journey.
Being single has many different connotations. After many years of living a single life, the questions were always addressed to me regarding being single, and surviving. I never thought of myself as a survivor. I was doing all I knew to live life and enjoy life as a single person. My goal was to experience life and enjoy the ride; it just so happened that I found myself taking this journey as a single person. I guess after not being married in my twenties or thirties qualified me as an expert in how to enjoy the single journey. You can be a happy, well-balanced, single person, enjoying life instead of a sad, depressed single feeling
