About this ebook

In “Burial Grounds” we join Max on an isolated farm as he works to cover his tracks. Throughout his life, he’s fought with his inner demons, losing at times. After being controlled for some time, he is flung into a world of uncertainty. Timothy, Max’s elder and mentor, as usual, has to clean another of Max’s “mistakes.” Has Timothy finally reached his breaking point? Will Max ever quell the violent voices tormenting his soul?

Losing a loved one is hard. Losing someone that has impacted your life in a major way can be nearly unbearable. In “Give and Take” we are greeted by a series of dream sequences, highlighting a few of Caleb’s most memorable interactions with his father. A touching tribute to a great man and his impact on generations to come after.

The shortest entry, so far, is “The Drifter.” But, don’t be fooled. For such a short story, suspense and mystery take hold and leave you with more questions than you began with. By the end of the story, I assure you, you will have barely noticed that none of the characters are named.

“Art Heist” is a different perspective into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, in March of 1990. A view into the preparation of the heist, from the perspective of the criminals in question. As Robby and Marco prepare for one of the largest heists in U.S. history. Doubts sink in throughout as the men come over the plans, make sure that everything is set, and they can evade capture.

Finally, I present “Virtuoso.” Vinny and Mutt are two teenagers seemingly trapped inside an ever-changing world. From unearthly creatures to supposedly uninhabited islands, even the middle of a techno dance floor. The possibilities are endless. Can the young men survive the barrage of weirdness and escape with their lives?

    Burial Grounds

Night descends on the remote farm. A lone isolated spotlight sits among the trees. Max, sweat dripping, clothes torn and dirt-covered, stands inside a three-foot deep hand-dug grave.

Max takes out his phone, dials a number, stares at the number hesitantly before calling. Timothy, I need help.

What the hell do you want, Max? I was trying to sleep.

    It happened again.

Dammit, not again Max. Timothy lets out an annoyed sigh. Who?

Hell if I know. Some drifter that was walking into town. I offered a ride, he accepted. The rest is history.

Are you at the farm? Timothy Asked.

Yep. I’m almost finished digging. I got the body out of the truck. Well, it more or less just flopped out when I opened the door. But, it’s too big for me to move to the grave by myself. Too much dead weight.

    Max lets out a snicker.

    No pun intended.

This isn’t a laughing matter, Max. What is rule number one?

Don’t kill anyone on your own that may be too big to move by yourself. I’m sorry, boss.

Man, you have got to stop this.
