About this series
The Perihelix. A mythical weapon, long since destroyed, and consigned to the annals of history. So why do two superpowers want to get hold of it? And why is it worth kidnapping two successful asteroid miners? Just because they happen to have an affinity for orichalcum, the strange element that enables instantaneous communications across the galaxy? The element found virtually only in the Viridian system. Well, yes.
Big Pete and the Swede, aka Pete Garcia and Lars Nilssen, have no idea that they might be valuable as well as rich. And their women have no idea how to fly a spaceship. Yet.
Curved Space to Corsair. Now Pete reveals his destiny, to save his people, who are overrun by the Imperium on their planet, Corsair. It is time for action. But Dolores, in training to become a space pilot, takes them down the wrong wormhole. Can they get back to known space while anyone they know is still alive? And would that be due to time dilation, or just a simple war between them and their destination? (contains some adult themes)
Zanzibar's Rings. The war may still be raging, but other forces are at work. Failure of the entire orichalcum communication system leaves Dolores in space, with a very dangerous passenger in her shuttle; Pete in the south of the planet is settling his refugee relatives, and Lars is wondering why everyone has a purpose in life but him. And once Pete works out how to fly spaceships on manual, it's down to him and Lars to rescue Dolores and prevent the last gasp of the war destroying their planet.

- The Perihelix
1
Two asteroid miners, three women, one spacecraft, and five pieces of a legendary weapon scattered around the galaxy. Big Pete and the Swede are rich, or so they discover after bringing in their latest haul of orichalcum from the asteroid belt. So some well-deserved vacation awaits them. It starts out just fine, with one of the men winning the big flyer-race of the season, but they start to receive odd messages, and despite the attentions from the girls, both realise that someone is trying to drag them back to their pasts, pasts they have tried hard to erase. They set out to discover who’s bugging them, but get kidnapped by some particularly nasty aliens, which leaves the girls in a mess – stranded on the spaceship with very little idea how to fly it. Kidnap, archaeology, imperial politics, and a chase from the centre of the galaxy to its very extremes... and sentient trees. This second edition has been completely overhauled for your reading enjoyment.
- Curved Space to Corsair
2
Big Pete and the Swede, together with Maggie and Dolores, who is training to qualify as a space pilot, take a holiday in the miners’ new spacecraft while some building work goes on at their villa. “Maybe ten weeks will do it,” Maggie estimates. Pete has been summoned to his home planet, Corsair, to save them from disaster, so they set off in that direction to give Dolores more space hours, only to make a slight course error which leaves them hundreds of light-years from civilisation. Meanwhile the Imperium declares war on the Federation, while a little personal business by one of the senators leads him off in the direction of the Viridian System to start a canny land grab. The second in the Viridian System series takes our heroes far far from their home area, and delays Pete's urgent summons. Strange aliens cross their path, only to show that sometimes the curves in spacetime really are the quickest routes to your destination.
- Zanzibar's Rings
3
A galactic crisis: the entire comms system destroyed. No waypoints, no navigation aids, no database access... and how will spaceships in flight get home--or to any destination? Dolores is stuck in warp with a very dangerous passenger, Pete gets his shuttle back home on manual. But why does anything in close contact with pure orichalcum fix itself? Just flying through Zanzibar's Rings solves the problem--as the Federation's Fighters find, as they descend on the Viridian System to take possession of the planets.

Jemima Pett has been living in a world of her own for many years. Writing stories since she was eight, drawing maps of fantasy islands with train systems and timetables at ten. She finally got back to building her own worlds, and wrote about them. Her business background enabled her to become an independent author, responsible for her own publications. Her first series, the Princelings of the East, mystery adventures for advanced readers set in a world of tunnels and castles entirely populated by guinea pigs, is now complete. The tenth and final book, Princelings Revolution, came out in October 2020. Jemima does chapter illustrations for these. She has also edited two volumes of Christmas stories for young readers, the BookElves Anthologies, and her father's memoirs White Water Landings, about the Imperial Airways flying boat service in Africa. She has compiled four collections of flash fiction tales, publishing in the first half of 2021. She is now writing the third in her science fiction series set in the Viridian System, in which the aliens include sentient trees.Jemima lived in a village in Norfolk with her guinea pigs, the first of whom, Fred, George, Victor and Hugo, provided the inspiration for her first stories, The Princelings of the East. She is now living in Hampshire, writing science fiction for grown-ups, hatching plans for a new series, and writing more short stories for anthologies.
