About this ebook

In early 1770s a captain of a ship called Queen decides to conquer the power of nature and challenge the most powerful fears for mankind at that time, his passion to the ocean and its secrets is unlimited as he gathered his crew and headed to deadly journey in the middle of the Atlantic ocean where he will face a grief tragedy and lose all he ever dreamed of to find out that " there is a kingdom under the sea ".

This book is about a mythological idea, for all the mermaid stories that's been told, this one is the most unique one. Can a man fall in love with a myth? That doesn't even exist?

A legend once was true, until fear made it a legend.

- “Captain! The ship is sinking, we have to jump."
As I stood still stuck in my head for such tragedy I've witnessed, watching my men dying in a blink of an eye and the Queen of seas is sinking.
- “Captain! We have to do something. Benjamin! Watch out!"
As I dropped on the floor in the exact same moment when that piece of wood had cracked my skull to travel me to oblivion.

    The Mermaid - Bechir Ncib

    Chapter One: Home

    - Benjamin, wake up! It's time.

    - I'm up! I'm up.

    - Get up now it's already too late we have to go and get the ship ready, the crew must be waiting

    - I'm the captain of that damn ship so you worry about yourself brother, besides I'm up! Can't you see?

    - No you're not fucking up! Besides I'm your brother as you said and also the head of the crew so it's time to go

    - Alright! Meet you in fifteen.

I could barely move my muscles as I had a very deep sleep the night before so eventually I got out of bed, wore my outfit and strictly got out of the house as my older brother was waiting for me outside so we could go and start our journey into the oceans to discover it secrets and probably get some rewards in those abandoned islands. I had to go by the store get some powders for the ship and some other stuff since I am so in love with my Queen.

I didn't want it to take so long for me to buy the equipments as I didn't want my brother to complain how much I'm lazy and not responsible, not qualified for the position of a captain since our father chose me to be that instead of him in time he would've made a better captain than me but that time my father insisted that I have to sail that ship since my older brother Carlon didn't have the passion I had for that Queen.

So I am on my way out of that store and was heading to the blacksmith but suddenly, as I saw that old lady being robbed by a young fool, I had no time to think I just started running after that guy as he realized I'm after him, he ran faster and started to throw anything that comes his way just to slow me down, in fact I'm old but I had the spirit of young man so I held my sword and yelled.

    - Hey! Stop; just give me back the basket you fool. It's just food.

    - You think I didn't notice? Just back off man.

As I cornered the bastard in a closed ally, he begged me not to take him in. But indeed I said.

    - You want food? Fucking work, don't steal from defenseless people. It's an old lady you dump, don't you have a mom!

    - Who the hell would hire me anyway! And no I don't, my mom is dead.

    - I’m sorry! It was not my intention to... Just give me the basket and leave.

So I took the basket and turned around! But thought for a second, I need more crew in the ship anyway!

    - Do you want to work for me?

    - What do you do anyway!

    - I’m captain of a ship, if you do! You can start from now.

    - In the sea? Sure why not.

I walked him back as he apologized from the lady, but that didn't go well as she slapped him right in the cheek. We headed to the bay where all the ships unite, as it was a beautiful morning. The sun is already halfway in the sky and the clouds can barely be seen as these birds doves flew freely in the open and the sea is asleep where waves are hibernated and my Queen is just about to wake up as the
