About this ebook

The Lambda Award–winning mystery series starring “a really fresh and original character” (Greg Herren).

Finally settling down with his hunky cop boyfriend, former callboy Kevin Connor is giving up the “oldest profession” for a new career: producing his mom’s TV talk show, Sophie’s Voice. But when their latest guest—gay porn sensation Brent Havens—ends up floating in the East River after vowing to blow the lid off the adult film industry, Connor returns to the world of high-stakes sex to find out: Who killed the twink who had everything?

Was it the X-rated director who exploited his star for his own desires? The bartender boyfriend who hustled more than just cocktails? Or the eye-candy costar who left the sweet actor for a sugar daddy?

Either way, Kevin is zooming in on one twisted plot with no shortage of drama queens. But is he ready for his close-up . . . with a killer?

From the author of First You Fall, called “funny, intriguing, exciting—everything a great mystery should be” by J. A. Konrath, and Second You Sin, put on the Washington Blade’s “Best of the Books List,” this is a witty New York story filled with both sex and suspense.

“Fans will be anxiously anticipating Kevin’s continued adventures.” —Philadelphia Gay News

A saucy chatty gay mystery, with some serious moments. Great happy ending which came as surprise.

Loved it! It waffled a bit in parts and there wasn't nearly as much Tony/Kevin as I would have liked, but Rafi was adorable, the story was interesting, the hot boys were numerous, and the ending made me laugh and cry.

Kevin is back! The little and o so cute hustler from the first two books has stopped getting money for sex and works for the tv-show of his mum because he wants to settle down to share a life with macho policeman Tony and his son. That sounds nice but is the biggest flaw of the book because the juicy parts of the story are mainly reminiscences to a past long gone. And the new detective plot - a missing porn actor who looks a bit like Kevin - doesn't take off. There are a lot of sidelines that are supposed to be funny but they just show that Sheman apparently didn't know what to write. And when the detective story finally gets going, it's to late to make it a nice read. And the overly sweet happy-end is a whee bit to much. Not believable and not convincing. What a shame because the basic idea of the book could have been used much better.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I really liked Kevin Connor and his somewhat inane entourage. I hope there is going to be more to follow this one. The reader's credulity might be stretched a little by Kevin's and his mother's investigative techniques or the necessity for them to have to have to investigate at all, but it is still a good story. The entire storyline might have been a bit more satisfying if we had learned a little more about what eventually happened to the various victims and culprits, but I guess we can accept that the good guys prevailed.
