Chapter One: Crash into Hell
The plane flew at a steady speed over the African rain forest. It was carrying a full cabin of relaxed and well rested tourists on their way back from vacationing on the tropical island of Mauritius. Young people sat reviewing the things that they could still remember from their drunken nights on the beach. Tinkering with the trinkets and souvenirs they picked up along the way. Trying to decide whether they spent too much money or had to many tequila shots. Middle aged couples coming back from their second honeymoons sat arm and arm cuddling with a romantic haze that lingered from their much needed nights of passion. Some families had children with them. Still wearing their bathing suits as if their parents had to drag them out of the ocean and onto the plane. The parents wore visors and neck pillows. They dozed off under their caps while their kids played with over priced handmade toys they bought on the island. It was a clear day out and the plane passed through few clouds. They had been flying over the rain forest for a while and the view from the plane was beautiful. One girl gazed down at the treetops while her three friends chatted about their holiday.
Holy shit, you took a photo of that!
A girl named Janet yelled at her boyfriend. Todd, you are such an asshole! You'd better delete them. If I see even one of those photos on Facebook I'm gonna kill you!
She punched him in the arm, which he didn't even notice. Todd and his buddy, Ray, laughed and looked through the rest of the scandalous photos. Janet tried for a moment to grab the camera but was unsuccessful. She finally gave up and turned to Alisha, who was thoroughly entranced by the sea of green underneath them. Alisha was not skinny like Janet, but was also by no means fat. She had long dark hair that always looked messy compared to Janet's short perfectly curled blonde bob. They had been friends since they were children but had begun to grow in different directions when they hit college.
Hey, what are you staring at?
Janet asked her.
Alisha broke her gaze and turned towards Janet. Smiling slightly, she answers, Nothing, just the view. It's nice.
Janet practically crawled over Alisha to look out the window. She surveyed the landscape below a moment and sat back in her place. It's just trees.
She said grabbing for her purse and quickly shoving her hand into it. After a moment of rummaging around she pulled out a pink make up bag. Let me do your face. I'm bored.
Janet told Alisha.
Alisha had learned over the years not to bother arguing with Janet's cosmetic requests and pulled back her hair with a tie.
In another part of the plane a man and his wife talked about the things they had to do when they got home. He wore tan cargo pants and a button up shirt whose sleeves weren't quite long enough to cover his tan line. His wife had wavy brown hair and wore a yellow sun dress.
I hope the kids haven't been giving Genie to much trouble.
Natalie told her husband, Martin. She was rearranging the items in her purse for the fourth time.
Martin put his arm around her and gave a light squeeze. I'm sure they were fine sweetie. Don't worry so much. When we get home we can worry about the kids and school and all that. But for now, let's enjoy the flight.
He told her. She calmed her frantic rummaging and gave him a kiss.
In one of the bathrooms on the plane a young couple was doing lines of coke off their arms. Baby, where did you score this shit on that little ass island?
The girl, Olivia, asked her boyfriend Trevor. She had long copper hair that matched her long copper legs. He was the typical muscle bound tool you'd expect a girl like her to be with.
I know people girl, I got the hook up.
He arrogantly bragged. They did another line and then took at each other like rabbits. The unfortunate people sitting just outside the bathrooms heard a symphony of strange noises and laughter.
In the front of the plane there was a family of four. A mother and father that looked to be in their thirties and two boys no more than ten. The mother had dark skin and tight curly hair that was placed on top of her head. The father was short and bald. The two little boys had lighter skin than their parents and hair that stuck out in every direction. They played with action figures, making explosion noises and throwing them at each other. Their parents told them to quiet down and behave. The younger of the two, Sydney, hit his older brother, Tony, with an Iron Man action figure. He cried to their mother, Mom! Sydney hit me!
June, their mother, smacked Sydney on the back, Cut it out! Play nice or I'll take those toys away!
She addressed her husband, "Eric, tell
