      Foreword

      Friendship comes in a variety of forms, the best of those being the relationships that change a part of a person for the better. Jessica Kristie came into my life when I yearned for a loving embrace, empathy, and encouragement. Jess infuses a spark of hope and unconditional joy into my life every day. She calls me her ‘soul-sister.’ I call her my angel.

      Jessica’s writing is, simply put, honest and heart-felt. Her words throw every ounce of the reader into the exact place and time she’s describing. Her words make the reader think. And feel. And love. Daily struggles and pain are diminished by her talent and thought-provoking pieces.

      Dreaming in Darkness allows the reader to feel the hope present in the blackness of despair. It’s a celebration of the astonishing beauty we can find in the darkest places and a true testament to the writer’s character.  It’s her gift.
