    Foreword

There is no shortage of technical Bitcoin/cryptocurrency guides out there, you’re probably well aware by now. Complex, hefty door stoppers filled with tech jargon that makes the average person’s head spin. I know, I was one of those people. With that in mind, I decided to take a different approach with this book. While the overly complicated tomes have their place and are crucial for tech professionals, the average person simply doesn’t need all of that mumbo jumbo. A deep understanding of how the technologies work isn’t a requirement for making serious money in crypto.

This book is the only book you’ll ever need to get started with Bitcoin and the other digital currencies. You’ll learn how to buy, how to trade, how to store, how to mine, and even how to get free coins. And all in easy-to-understand, straightforward language.

Before you do anything, hop on over to Bitradio, Steemit and Dtube, and sign up to start earning free coins for listening to your favourite radio stations, blogging and making videos. There are no catches whatsoever. These are great ways to earn money doing what you love.

Disclaimer: Nothing in this guide is financial advice; it's merely a guide on how to invest, not what to invest. You should do your own research before investing in any coin.

Let that sink in for a minute. That’s a jump of 1011%. Huge rise, right? Especially when you consider how Bitcoin first came about...

    Bitcoin: A brief history

2008 saw the start of the global economic crash, and a widescale loss of trust in banks and financial institutions. What emerged with this crash was the realisation that a better, more decentralised way of storing and transferring money was necessary. Decentralised in that no institutions owned or controlled distribution of money.

    Enter Satoshi Nakamoto.

In 2009, Bitcoin was born. Nakamoto, a person (or perhaps group of people) whom no one has ever seen or met, set out to address the issues plaguing the traditional banking system. His vision: a system without limitations, without borders, without regulation. A truly free way of transferring wealth, both anonymously and globally.

There are a number of theories floating about on the Internet as to Nakamoto's true identity, with some speculating that the government is actually behind Bitcoin's creation. While it seems unlikely, given the government's constant attempts to stifle the growth of cryptocurrency, we simply can't be sure.

So what exactly is Bitcoin, and how does it work?

Bitcoin is a decentralised digital currency and payment system. That’s the technical definition. So what is that in layman’s terms? Well, unlike
