    INTRODUCTION

Torah For Today is based on Hebrew symbolism and interpreted according to Hebrew context. The resources used for this project are the following: the Scriptures version of the Bible from the ISR, the BDB Lexicon of the Old Testament, and the Strong's Bible Concordance.

For example we have Gen 22:2  And He said, Take your son, now, your only son Yitshaq, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriyah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I command you.

The interpretation of this verse is gleaned by taking the Hebrew meanings of key words. This adds a new dimension to the story as shown below:

English translation, "take your only son".

Hebrew interpretation, "take your unique, one of kind son", from the Hebrew word H3173.

English translation, "and go to the land of Moriyah".

Hebrew interpretation, "and go to the land where you will see Yah", from the Hebrew word H7200.

English translation, "and offer him as a burnt offering".

Hebrew translation, "ascend with him, and clean yourselves from evil", from the Hebrew words

    H5927 and H5766 respectively.

We will follow this pattern of understanding in the Torah teachings since the Hebrew Torah reveals spiritual concepts. Utilizing this method of study, deeper interpretations and meaningful spiritual messages unfold going beyond the literal understanding. Creator's spirit then tells us that His Law is a spiritual Law and reflects the two natures of the Creator; the masculine and feminine attributes.

His character then as described in Gen 1: 27, And Elohim created the man in His image, in the image of Elohim He created him – male and female He created them, is understood to be both male and female, therefore humankind was made according to YHVH's nature, under Yah's image. This understanding will be the base of the Torah For Today's teachings, inviting us to explore the unique Oneness of our Creator. The stories we find in the Hebrew Scriptures have lessons that need to be discerned in this context in order for us see the true Oneness of YHVH as described in Deu 6: 4 and H258-9.

Another important thing to mention is the usage of the Creator's name in Hebrew either Yahweh or YHVH, the four English letters corresponding to the Hebrew writing. At times, Elohim is used depending on the context in the Scriptures. The English word "LORD will be translated back to its Hebrew original Yahweh or its related YHVH. For the English God we will use the Hebrew original Elohim", for example:

English translation for Deu 6:4, "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD" (KJV)

Hebrew translation for Deu 6:4, "Hear, O Israel: Yahweh our Elohim, Yahweh is one! (the author)

Finally for clarification, the meaning behind the word "elohim should be discussed as the English translation isn't accurate. This word is most often translated in the English/Spanish languages as God/gods, but this idea of a god is better interpreted in ancient Israel as a mighty one", someone or something that has power or authority as in H430, and it is also used as a plural word and as a superlative. For example we have below:

Gen 1:1, "In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth or the Great Mighty One" created...

Gen 3:5, "For Elohim knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like elohim, knowing good and evil or for the Great Mighty One knows... you shall be like mighty ones...

Deu 8:19  "And it shall be, if you by any means forget Yahweh our Elohim, and follow other mighty ones, and serve them and bow yourself to them, I have warned you this day that you shall certainly perish.

Exo 7:1  So Yahweh said to Mosheh, "See, I have made you an elohim, (giving Moses authority) to Pharaoh, and Aharon your brother is your prophet.

    THE TEST OF ABRAHAM

Gen 22:1  And it came to be after these events that Elohim tried Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! And he said, Here I am.

YHVH tests Abraham's obedience and faith.

Gen 22:2  And He said, Take your son, now, your only son Yitshaq, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriyah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I command you.

Take your unique, one of kind son, and go to the land far away and ascend with him, and clean yourselves from evil.

Gen 22:3  And Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Yitshaq his son. And he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place which Elohim had commanded him.

Abraham was ready with humbleness and had two witnesses and prepared himself for the cleansing.

Gen 22:4  And on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place from a distance.

Abraham completed his time of strengthening and contemplated his future.

Gen 22:5  So Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the donkey while the boy and I go over there and worship, and come back to you.

Abraham and Issac go to worship and then come back from worship.

Gen 22:6  And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Yitshaq his son. And he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together.

Abraham makes sure Isaac is firm for the task and Isaac carries the wood for the cleansing.

Gen 22:7  And Yitshaq spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father! And he said, Here I am, my son. And he said, See, the fire and the wood! But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Isaac asks about the lamb for the sacrifice, in other words how do they clean themselves from evil?

Gen 22:8  And Abraham said, My son, Elohim does provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering. And the two of them went together.

Abraham responds acknowledging that YHVH is the one that does the cleansing.

Gen 22:9  And they came to the place which Elohim had commanded him, and Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order. And he bound Yitshaq his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

ABRAHAM REASSURES ISSAC about his firmness and courage to do this cleansing.

Gen 22:10  And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son,

Abraham then made the preparations to eat with his son.

Gen 22:11  but the Messenger of Yahweh called to him from the heavens and said, Aḇraham, Abraham! And he said, Here I am.

    And YHVH called Abraham.

Gen 22:12  And He said, Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor touch him. For now I know that you fear Elohim, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.

YHVH said to not let loose of the boy.

Gen 22:13  And Abraham lifted his eyes and looked and saw behind him a ram caught in a bush by its horns, and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

Abraham saw  a ram, in other words recovered his strength and offered it as the sacrifice.

Gen 22:14  And Abraham called the name of the place, Yahweh Yireh,’ as it is said to this day, On the mountain Yahweh provides.

Gen 22:15  And the Messenger of Yahweh called to Abraham a second time from the heavens,

Gen 22:16  and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares Yahweh, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,

Abraham didn't withhold his young self, he surrendered himself to YHVH. Isaac then, acting as an extension of Abraham.

Gen 22:17  that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies.

Gen 22:18  And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.

Gen 22:19  Then Aḇraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beĕrsheba. And Abraham dwelt at Beĕrsheba.

Only when Abraham discovers himself and recognizes who he really is, then he can be a true blessing for the nations of the earth, and this is a challenge for each one of us everyday of our lives.

    ABRAM AND LOT

Gen 12:1-2  And Yahweh said to Aḇram, Go yourself out of your land, from your relatives and from your father’s house, to a land which I show you. And I shall make you a great nation, and bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing!

    Abraham..the one that crossed over.

Your land, our own place of living.

Your relatives, our closed ones by blood or marriage connections, also religious connections.

Your father's house, symbol of authority, the one that takes care of us, the one that guides us, (the things of the world that affect our daily lives).

Verse 2,  once we get out of that environment YHVH transforms us and becomes part of something great, and for what purpose? To bless others.

Gen 12:3  And I shall bless those who bless you, and curse (to curse) him who curses (to call little, of little value) you. And in you all the clans of the earth shall be blessed.

Gen 12:3  And I shall bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you. And in you all the clans of the earth shall be blessed.

Gen 12:4  So Abram left, as Yahweh had commanded him, and Lot went with him. And Aḇram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.

Gen 12:5  And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the beings whom they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Kenaʽan. And they came to the land of Kenaʽan.

Abram, high father, representing the beginning of the law, the source.

Sarai, a ruler, chief, representing the female side of the law that should always rule (spirit of the law)

Lot, covering, veil, representing blindness when we don't accept the two aspects of the character of YHVH (material law and spiritual law)

Gen 13:7  And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. And at that time the Kenaʽanites and the Perizzites dwelt in the land.

Gen 13:8  Then Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers.

Gen 13:9  Is not all the land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I go to the left.

Gen 13:10-11  And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of the Yardĕn, that it was well watered everywhere – before Yahweh destroyed Seḏom and Amorah – like the garden of Yahweh, like the land of Mitsrayim as you go toward Tsoʽar. So Lot chose for himself all the plain of the Yardĕn, and Lot moved east. Thus they separated from each other,

Gen 13:12-13  Abram dwelling in the land of Kenaʽan, and Lot dwelling in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent as far as Sedom. But the men of Sedom were evil and sinned before Yahweh, exceedingly so.

Gen 13:14  And after Lot had separated from him, Yahweh said to Aḇram, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward,

Gen 13:15  for all the land which you see I shall give to you and your seed forever.

Gen 13:16  "And I shall make your seed as the dust of the earth, so that, if a man could count the dust of the earth, then your seed also could be counted.

GEN 13:17  ARISE, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.

Gen 13:18  So Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamrĕ, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to Yahweh.

The law/Torah will always be there and it will never changed. The promise that comes with the law

about an abundant life in the presence of YHVH will always be there because the law will never change.

Now, the strife between Abram and Lot symbolizes the strife that comes once we leave the spirit of the law behind and all we see is the flesh or the material world (what feels good, can touch or see).

Gen 18:1  And Yahweh appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamrĕ, while he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day.

Gen 18:2  So he lifted his eyes and looked, and saw three men standing opposite him. And when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground,

Gen 18:3  and said, Yahweh, if I have now found favour in Your eyes, please do not pass Your servant by.

Gen 18:4  "Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

Gen 18:5  And let me bring a piece of bread and refresh your hearts, and then go on, for this is why you have come to your servant. And they said, Do as you have said.

Gen 18:6  So Aḇraham ran into the tent to Sarah and said, Hurry, make ready three measures of fine flour, knead it and make cakes.

Gen 18:7  And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hurried to prepare it.

Gen 18:8  And he took curds and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them, and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.

What does this mean? If the law is upheld, the presence of YHVH will come to us and if we uphold the law then we will serve YHVH with what we own and with our best.

Once YHVH sees that we are serving him the best we can, He will transform our spirit which will reflect the spirit of the law. And then we will eat with YHVH which means we will have quality time with each other, (worship and prayer).

Gen 18:9  And they said to him, Where is Sarah your wife? And he said, See, in the tent.

Gen 18:10  And He said, I shall certainly return to you according to the time of life, and see, Sarah your wife is to have a son! And Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.

Gen 18:11  Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age, and Sarah was past the way of women.

Gen 18:12  And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my master being old too?

Gen 18:13  And Yahweh said to Aḇraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I truly have a child, since I am old?’

Gen 18:14  Is any matter too hard for Yahweh? At the appointed time I am going to return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah is to have a son.

Gen 18:15  But Sarah denied it, saying, I did not laugh, for she was afraid. And He said, No, but you did laugh!

Sometimes we have experienced a religious life for so long that we get used to it and think that we have experienced all and we take from granted our spiritual life.

What Sarai experienced in the story, her fear, doubt, laughter, is our own experience when we feel these same things in our lives. We think that there is nothing else out there, nothing more to contribute or to share, or to learn. What is the child? It is the fruit of the spirit.

Gen 18:16  And the men rose up from there and looked toward Sedom, and Abraham went with them to send them away.

Gen 18:17  And Yahweh said, "Shall I hide from Aḇraham what I am doing,

Gen 18:18  since Abraham is certainly going to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Gen 18:19  For I have known him, so that he commands his children and his household after him, to guard the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and right-ruling, so that Yahweh brings to Aḇraham what He has spoken to him.

Gen 18:20  And Yahweh said, "Because the outcry against Seḏom and Amorah is great, and because their sin is very heavy,

Gen 18:21  I am going down now to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me, and if not, I know.

Gen 18:22  So the men turned away from there and went toward Sedom, but Yahweh still stood before Aḇraham.

Gen 18:23  And Abraham drew near and said, "Would You also destroy the righteous with the wrong?

Gen 18:24  "Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city, would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it?

Gen 18:25  Far be it from You to act in this way, to slay the righteous with the wrong, so that the righteous should be as the wrong. Far be it from You! Does the Judge of all the earth not do right?

Gen 18:26  And Yahweh said, If I find in Seḏom fifty righteous within the city, then I shall spare all the place for their sake.

Gen 18:27  And Abraham answered and said, "Look, please, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to Yahweh,

Gen 18:28  Suppose there are five less than the fifty righteous, would You destroy all of the city for lack of five? And He said, If I find there forty-five, I do not destroy it.

Gen 18:29  And he spoke to Him yet again and said, Suppose there are found forty? And He said, I would not do it for the sake of forty.

Gen 18:30  And he said, Let not Yahweh be displeased, and let me speak: Suppose there are found thirty? And He said, I would not do it if I find thirty there.

Gen 18:31  And he said, Look, please, I have taken it upon myself to speak to Yahweh: Suppose there are found twenty? And He said, I would not destroy it for the sake of twenty.

Gen 18:32  And he said, Let not Yahweh be displeased, and let me speak only this time: Suppose there are found ten? And He said, I would not destroy it for the sake of ten.

Gen 18:33  Then Yahweh went away as soon as He had ended speaking to Aḇraham. And Abraham returned to his place.

What happens when we uphold the law? YHVH has to put it to the test. This story about the judgment of YHVH against Sodom and Gomorrah is our own story. We create our own judgment when we separate the law and the spirit. And then it gets to the point where YHVH can't even find ten people obeying the commandments, (He can't find anybody that reflects the 10 words).

Gen 19:1  And the two messengers came to Sedom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sedom. And when Lot saw them, he rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground,

Gen 19:2  and he said, Look, please my masters, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet, and rise early and go your way. And they said, No, but let us spend the night in the open square.

Gen 19:3  But he urged them strongly, and they turned in to him and came into his house. And he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

One of the interesting things is that Abram and Lot recognized the presence of YHVH, the three messengers and the two respectively, since spiritual things are discern spiritually. Notice that Lot also did his best when serving the messengers of YHVH, (best meaning according to our strength, faith or belief, which is not necessarily  good, bad or enough).

Gen 19:4  Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sedom, both old and young, all the people from every part, surrounded the house.

Gen 19:5  And they called to Lot and said to him, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, and let us ‘know’ them.

Gen 19:6  So Lot went out to them through the doorway, and shut the door behind him,

Gen 19:7  and said, "Please, my brothers, do not do evil!

Gen 19:8  Look, please, I have two daughters who have not known a man. Please, let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you wish, only do no deed to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof.

Now, we have to understand that Lot as a symbol of our blindness, was trapped in a worldly pagan place, and it needed to be restored and redeemed. The messengers are always ready to return the light to us. Once our spirit that has been oppressed hears the call of YHVH, it's shaken up, and in the fear of the moment it feels like surrendering our purity and innocence and we surrender to Him (we defend the messengers). Once we feel that the messengers of YHVH are inside our own roof we feel desperate and we feel the need to defend His name and we are prompt to give up the best of us, or what we value the most. (In this case our two virgin daughters)

Gen 19:9  But they said, Stand back! And they said, This one came in to sojourn, and should he always judge? Now we are going to treat you worse than them. So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.

Gen 19:10-11  But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. Then they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, and they wearied themselves to find the door.

When we recognize that the name of  YHVH is greater than all that we posses and are willing to give it up, then His presence becomes our Savior.

Gen 19:12  And the men said to Lot, "Have you anyone else here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city – bring them out of this place!

Gen 19:13 For we are going to destroy this place, because the cry against them has grown great before the face of Yahweh, and Yahweh has sent us to destroy it.

Gen 19:14  And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, Get up, get out of this place, for Yahweh is going to destroy this city! But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be as one joking.

Gen 19:15  And when morning dawned, the messengers urged Lot to hurry, saying, Get up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.

Gen 19:16  And while he loitered, the men took hold of his hand, and his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, Yahweh having compassion on him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.

Gen 19:17  And it came to be, when they had brought them outside, that he said, Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed.

Once we have encountered the truth of YHVH we must listen and make a decision. Here, in this story, is presented the mercy and compassion of YHVH, how He is always willing to forgive and save.

Gen 19:18  And Lot said to them, "Oh no, Yahweh!

Gen 19:19  "Look, please, your servant has found favour in your eyes, and you have increased your kindness which you have shown me by saving my life, but I am unable to escape

to the mountains, lest calamity overtake me and I die.

Gen 19:20  Look, please, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please let me escape there – is it not a small matter – and let my life be saved?

Gen 19:21  And He said to him, "Look, I have favoured you concerning this matter also, without overthrowing this city for which you have spoken.

Gen 19:22  Hurry, escape there. For I am not able to do any deed until you arrive there. So the name of the city was called Tsoʽar.

Gen 19:23  The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Tsoʽar.

Gen 19:24  And Yahweh rained sulphur and fire on Seḏom and Amorah, from Yahweh out of the heavens.

Gen 19:25  So He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

Gen 19:26  But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a post of salt.

We can't give YHVH only one part of us. He wants  all of us, physical and spirit, since YHVH's presence is formed by the letter of the law (masculine side) and the spirit of the law (feminine side).

Lot was saved by his obedience to the law which brought forth spiritual fruits represented by his daughters, but Lot's wife needed to be annihilated since the old spirit, the spirit of adultery and idolatry must disappear once we are saved by the presence of YHVH. A new spirit then is born in us and a new journey begins.

    THE ENTIRE NATION

This study shows how YHVH connects with all the nation of Israel, and He sends His messages and commandments to the nation as a whole. We have here seven points to see how Elohim unites His people according to Eze 37: 15-19.

Eze 37:15  And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Eze 37:16  "And you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it, ‘For Yehudah and for the children of Yisra’ĕl, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Yosĕph, the stick of Ephrayim, and for all the house of Yisra’ĕl, his companions.’

Eze 37:17  "Then bring them together for yourself into one stick, and they shall become one in your hand.

Eze 37:18  "And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Won’t you show us what you mean by these?’

Eze 37:19  say to them, ‘Thus said the Master Yahweh, See, I am taking the stick of Yosĕph, which is in the hand of Ephrayim, and the tribes of Yisra’ĕl, his companions. And I shall give them unto him, with the stick of Yehudah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.

    ONE

Exo 34:8  And Mosheh hurried and bowed himself toward the earth, and did obeisance,

Exo 34:9  and said, If, now, I have found favour in Your eyes, O Yahweh, I pray, let Yahweh go on in our midst, even though we are a stiff-necked people. And forgive our crookedness and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.

Exo 34:10  And He said, "See, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I am going to do wonders such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of Yahweh. For what I am doing with you is awesome.

Exo 34:11  "Guard what I command you today. See, I am driving out from before you the Amorite and the Kenaʽanite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hiwwite and the Yebusite.

Exo 34:12  "Guard yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be a snare in your midst.

Exo 34:13  "But break down their altars, and smash their pillars, and cut down their Ashĕrim –

Exo 34:14  for you do not bow yourselves to another mighty one, for Yahweh, whose Name is jealous, is a jealous Ěl –

Exo 34:15  lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they whore after their mighty ones, and slaughter to their mighty ones, and one of them invites you and you eat of his slaughterings,

Exo 34:16  and you take of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters whore after their mighty ones, and make your sons whore after their mighty ones.

Exo 34:17  "Do not make a moulded mighty one for yourselves.

Exo 34:18  "Guard the Festival of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, in the appointed time of the month of Abib because in the month of Abib you came out from Mitsrayim.

Exo 34:27  And Yahweh said to Mosheh, "Write these Words, for according to the mouth of these Words I have made a covenant with you and with Yisra’ĕl."

    TWO

Exo 3:7  And Yahweh said, "I have indeed seen the oppression of My people who are in Mitsrayim, and have heard their cry because of their slave-drivers, for I know their sorrows.

Exo 3:8  "And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Mitsrites, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Kenaʽanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hiwwites and the Yebusites.

Exo 3:9  "And now, see, the cry of the children of Yisra’ĕl has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Mitsrites oppress them.

    THREE

Exo 4:27  And Yahweh said to Aharon, "Go to meet Mosheh in the wilderness." And he went and met him on the mountain of Elohim, and kissed him.

Exo 4:28  Mosheh then told Aharon all the words of  Yahweh who had sent him, and all the signs which He had commanded him.

Exo 4:29  And Mosheh went with Aharon and gathered together all the elders of the children of Yisra’ĕl.

Exo 4:30  And Aharon spoke all the words which Yahweh had spoken to Mosheh. Then he did the signs before the eyes of the people.

Exo 4:31  And the people believed. And they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Yisra’ĕl and that He had looked on their affliction, and they bowed their heads and did obeisance.

    FOUR

Exo 18:1  And Yithro, the priest of Midyan, Mosheh’s father-in-law, heard of all that Elohim had done for Mosheh and for Yisra’ĕl His people, that Yahweh had brought Yisra’ĕl out of Mitsrayim.

Exo 19:9  And Yahweh said to Mosheh, "See, I am coming to you in the thick cloud, so that the people hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever." And Mosheh reported the words of the people to Yahweh.

Exo 19:10  And Yahweh said to Mosheh, "Go to the people and set them apart today and tomorrow. And they shall wash their garments,

Exo 19:11  and shall be prepared by the third day. For on the third day Yahweh shall come down upon Mount Sinai before the eyes of all the people.

Exo 19:12  "And you shall make a border for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch the border of it. Whoever touches the mountain shall certainly be put to death.

Exo 19:13  ‘Not a hand is to touch it, but he shall certainly be stoned or shot with an arrow, whether man or beast, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, let them come near the mountain."

Exo 19:14  And Mosheh came down from the mountain to the people and set the people apart, and they washed their garments.

Exo 19:15  And he said to the people, Be prepared by the third day. Do not come near a wife.

Exo 19:16  And it came to be, on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain. And the sound of the ram’s horn was very loud, and all the people who were in the camp trembled.

Exo 19:17  And Mosheh brought the people out of the camp to meet with Elohim, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

    FIVE

Exo 20:18  And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the sound of the ram’s horn, and the mountain smoking. And the people saw it, and they trembled and stood at a distance,

Exo 20:19  and said to Mosheh, You speak with us and we hear, but let not Elohim speak with us, lest we die.

Exo 20:20  And Mosheh said to the people, "Do not fear, for Elohim has come to prove you, and in order that His fear be before you, so that you do not sin."

Exo 20:21  So the people stood at a distance, but Mosheh drew near the thick darkness where Elohim was.

Exo 20:22  And  Yahweh said to Mosheh, "Say this to the children of Yisra’ĕl: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from the heavens.

Exo 20:23  ‘You do not make besides Me mighty ones of silver, and you do not make mighty ones of gold for yourselves.

    SIX

Exo 33:9  And it came to be, when Mosheh entered the Tent, that the column of cloud descended and stood at the door of the Tent, and He spoke with Mosheh.

Exo 33:10  And all the people saw the column of cloud standing at the Tent door, and all the people rose and bowed themselves, each one at the door of his tent.

Lev 9:23  And Mosheh and Aharon went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out and blessed the people. And the esteem of Yahweh appeared to all the people,

Lev 9:24  and fire came out from before Yahweh and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. And all the people saw and cried aloud and fell on their faces.

Deu 4:3  "Your eyes have seen what Yahweh did at Baʽal Peʽor, for Yahweh your Elohim has destroyed from your midst all the men who followed Baʽal Peʽor.

Deu 4:4  "But you who are clinging to Yahweh your Elohim are alive today, every one of you.

Deu 4:12  "And Yahweh spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard a voice of words, but saw no form, you only heard a voice.

Deu 4:13  "And He made known to you His covenant which He commanded you to do, the Ten Words, and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.

Deu 4:33  "Has a people heard the voice of Elohim speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live?

Deu 4:34  "Or has Elohim tried to go and take for Himself a nation from the midst of a nation by trials, and by signs, and by wonders, and by battle, and by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and by great fearsome deeds, according to all that Yahweh your Elohim did for you in Mitsrayim before your eyes?

    SEVEN

Jos 1:2  "Mosheh My servant is dead, so now, arise, pass over this Yardĕn, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the children of Yisra’ĕl.

Jos 4:1  And it came to be, when the entire nation had completely passed over the Yardĕn, that Yahweh spoke to Yehoshua, saying,

Jos 4:2  "Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from every tribe,

Jos 4:14  On that day Yahweh made Yehoshua great before the eyes of all Yisra’ĕl. And they feared him, as they had feared Mosheh, all the days of his life.

JDG 2:4  AND IT CAME to be, when the Messenger of Yahweh spoke these words to all the children of Yisra’ĕl, that the people lifted up their voice and wept.

Jdg 2:5  So they called the name of that place Bokim, and slaughtered there to Yahweh.

Jdg 20:26  And all the children of Yisra’ĕl, even all the people, went up and came to Bĕyth Ěl and wept, and sat there before Yahweh and fasted that day until evening. And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.

Jdg 20:27  And the children of Yisra’ĕl asked of Yahweh – the ark of the covenant of Elohim was there in those days.

    AMOS 1

Amo 1:1  The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Teqowa (trumpet), which he saw concerning Yisra’ĕl in the days of Uzziyah sovereign of Yehudah, and in the days of Yarob'am son of Yo’ash, sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, two years before the earthquake.

This event happened in the days where the two houses of Israel were divided and each one of them had their own leader. Yehudah and the other 10 tribes. He mentions the two houses as witnesses of what YHVH is going to do and the prophet Amos sounding the alarm. (the two houses of Israel are still divided today, so is the message still relevant today)

Amo 1:2  And he said, Yahweh roars from Tsiyon, and gives forth His voice from Yerushalayim. And the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Karmel shall wither.

YHVH's voice was going to be heard from Yerushalayim, but this time it was going to be the voice of punishment against several nations, and the first thing He says is that the mount Karmel (fruitful) was going to lose its fruitfulness. These shepherds belong to these nations that are going to fall under YHVH's judgment.

Amo 1:3  Thus said Yahweh, "For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I do not turn it back, because they threshed Gilʽad (rocky region) with threshing implements of iron.

Why does it say three transgressions? Because three makes the transgressions strong. Whatever the transgressions are they are something that YHVH strongly condemns. And the fourth transgression is when you come to the point where that door appears for you, and you have the opportunity to choose what is righteous. It is the same symbol of  the number four in commandment number 2, Ex 20:5. What do the Damascus people do to the rocky place? They cut the rocks and use it to make idols. That is why YHVH condemns the act of threshing Giladi.

Amo 1:4  "But I shall send fire upon the house of Haza’ĕl, (the ones that see god) and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-Hadad. (the son of Hadad)

Amo 1:5  And I shall break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the Valley of Awen, (vanity) and the one who holds the sceptre from Bĕyth Ěden (house of pleasure). And the people of Aram (exalted) shall go exiled to Qir,(wall) said Yahweh.

This is the rest of the judgment for Damascus. He will bring fire to the ones that see the god of Syria, he is going to break the palaces of the sons of the god Hadad. He will cut off the inhabitants of the valley of vanity and the leaders of the house of pleasure and the people of the exalted ones will be exiled in a wall.

Amo 1:6  Thus said Yahweh, "For three transgressions of Azzah (greedy), and for four, I do not turn it back, because they took into exile an entire exile(to go after), to surrender it to Eḏom (descendants of Esau).

Once again for the strong transgressions of the people of Gaza (Philistines) YHVH will not turn hand away from them because they follow the descendants of Esau.

Amo 1:7  "But I shall send fire upon the wall of Azzah, and it shall consume its palaces.

AMO 1:8  "AND I SHALL cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod (to oppress), and the one who holds the sceptre from Ashqelon (the business men) And I shall turn My hand against Eqron (to root up), and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish," said the Master Yahweh.

YHVH will send fire to Gaza and will cut off the oppressors and the leaders of the merchants and traders, YHVH will go against the exterminators and the rest of the Philistines.

Amo 1:9  Thus said Yahweh, "For three transgressions of Tsor (confine-bind up), and for four, I do not turn it back, because they surrendered an entire exile to Eḏom, and did not remember the brotherly covenant.

YHVH sends the same judgment against the hostile ones that confine and bind up. The people of Tyre that enclose you and keep you close in on all sides. And the fourth transgression of Edom because he didn't care about his brother.

Amo 1:10  But I shall send fire upon the wall of Tsor, and it shall consume its palaces.

Amo 1:11  Thus said Yahweh, "For three transgressions of Eḏom, and for four, I do not turn it back, because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all compassion. And his displeasure tore incessantly, and he kept his wrath forever.

Amo 1:12  But I shall send fire upon Tĕman, and it shall consume the palaces of Botsrah.

Teman and Bozrah are related to Edom and Moab.

Amo 1:13  Thus said Yahweh, "For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I do not turn it back, because they ripped open (to hatch) the pregnant women in Gilʽad, to enlarge their border.

Amo 1:14  "So I shall kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah (many), and it shall consume its palaces, with a shout in the day of battle, with a storm in the day of the whirlwind.

Amo 1:15  And their sovereign shall go into exile, he and his heads together, said Yahweh.

Now the last judgment is on the strong transgressions of Ammon (descendants of Lot). And the fourth transgression is to get their women pregnant in order to build up their nations. And YHVH will send fire to the ones that are great in number. These judgments are symbolized by  the earthquake of verse 1 and by the storm and the whirlwind of verse 14.  When YHVH says He is not going to turn it back, He is talking about His judgment not turning it back away from these nations because of their four transgressions.

    THE ANOINTED

Dan 9:24   "Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and for your set-apart city, to put an end to the transgression, and to seal up sins, and to cover crookedness, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint (H4886) the Most Set-apart.

Dan 9:25  "Know, then, and understand: from the going forth of the command to restore and build Yerushalayim until Messiah (H4899) the Prince is seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It shall be built again, with streets and a trench, but in times of affliction.

Dan 9:26  "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off and have naught. And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the set-apart place. And the end of it is with a flood. And wastes are decreed, and fighting until the end.

Dan 9:27  "And he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall put an end to slaughtering and meal offering. And on the wing of abominations he shall lay waste, even until the complete end and that which is decreed is poured out on the one who lays waste.

    We have few examples below about the use of these two Hebrew words, H4899 and H4886, from verses 24-25: 1Sam 16: 13,  2Sam 23: 1, Psalms 105: 6-15 H4899  (mâshı̂yach) and Ex 29: 2, Lev 2: 4,

Num 3: 3 H4886 (mâshach). One is the verb/action H4886, and the other is the noun form H4899.

Here we can see that anything can be set apart and made anointed for YHVH's service, but we want to mention that the word that is used for Messiah in verses 25-26 is the same word H4899 used in the other passages as anointed in English.  In other words the change in Daniel is done purposedly to give a corrupted message which is not given in the original scripture.

According to the context of Daniel chapters 2, 7-8 the battle of the ages is between the people of YHVH and the people of the beast, therefore we follow the pattern here in Daniel 9 and find that the character described in verses 25-26 as the Messiah is in reality the anointed of YHVH who is His nation Israel.

By altering the meaning of the word H4899 in verses 25-26, as Messiah, the translators of this scriptures are giving the false message and they are breaking the pattern already stablished in the visions of
