How to Grow Marijuana - Tom Whistler

    Introduction

I want to thank you and congratulate you for purchasing the book, "How to Grow Marijuana Outdoors: A Step-by-Step Beginners Guide to Growing Top-Quality Weed Outdoors ".

This book contains a step-by-step guide on how to plant marijuana outdoors, both for recreational use and for business.

Growing marijuana has become one of the most popular hobbies around. Ever since weed has been legalized in most states, many people have considered at one point of another to plant their own weed. Some consider doing it for personal consumption. Others are considering growing this regulated plant as a means of generating supplemental income.

Regardless of your reasons for your interest in growing marijuana, this book is for you. It contains easy-to-follow instruction that will allow you to grow your own marijuana plant. It also contains steps on how to make sure that you get high quality weed from your own plants. This requires careful selection of the strains you use as well as proper cultivation practices.

This book focuses on how you can plant marijuana outdoors, as opposed to using the popular indoor planting system that was prevalent when marijuana was not yet legal in most states. This method is cheaper to start and it is more sustainable to build into a business. If you are familiar with how to maintain a garden, you can also grow pot in your farm or in your backyard.

Let’s begin planting your first batch of weed.

Thanks again for purchasing this book, I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1 – The Basics of Growing Marijuana Outdoors

Marijuana, also known as Cannabis, is easy to grow outdoors. In this chapter, you will learn the different factors that affect its growth to ensure that you grow high quality plants.

The needs of a Marijuana plant

    Sunlight

The quality of the sunlight is the best advantage of planting marijuana outdoors. When planting indoors, one needs to make use of artificial light to facilitate photosynthesis. This can be extremely costly. By planting the herb outdoors, its source of light will be natural and it will not increase your electricity bill.

A marijuana plant requires at least 5 hours of sun every day. Keeping multiple bulbs lit for that long everyday will certainly add to your costs significantly. If your spot gets sufficient amount of sunlight every day, you should consider planting outdoors.

    Sufficient water

Since we want the plant’s buds and leaves to be as healthy as possible for harvesting, sufficient water is needed to ensure that the plant’s growth is sustained. A place with a natural water source is ideal. It will be much easier for you to grow the herb if your planting spot is near a body of fresh water like a river, a stream or a lake.

If this is not the case, you will need to use rain water or the running water from your home. This is not ideal because it may also add more cost to your marijuana production operation.

    Nutrients

Unlike the two factors above, you will have total control over the nutrients that your plant needs. As with all plants, a marijuana plant gains its nutrients from the soil. It then uses these nutrients, together with the energy from sunlight, to produce carbohydrates. A plant lacking from nutrients will not grow to its full potential.

You can supplement the amount of nutrients in the soil of the growing medium by using fertilizer. We will discuss the use of liquid nutrients in later chapters.

    Growing medium

Normally, the soil is the growing medium for all plants. However, in some areas, good quality soil may be hard to come by. Because of this, many growers have developed their own growing medium over the years.

The growing medium should be able to retain just enough water for the roots to absorb. If the medium does not retain water, like sandy soil, the plant is in danger of becoming dehydrated when the weather becomes too hot. On the other hand, if the medium retains too much water for long periods, the root tissue will begin to become soft and soggy. The outer layer protecting the roots will become compromised and it will begin to rot. This will eventually kill the plant.

    Other factors

Your goal when cultivating marijuana plants is to ensure that the environment is conducive for its growth. Before you create a full blown farm, you should ensure that the area where you wish to plant has the right humidity for the plant. You will also need to ensure that the wind is not too strong. Forceful gusts can break leaves, branches and trunks. Planting in an extremely windy area will lead to low product yields.

Pests are also one of the most important factors that you
