You are going to be late for your own coronation,
Luke said.
Erich smiled at him, caressing his cheek. I am weary from battle. I just want five more minutes.
Luke kissed him on the cheek. I’m sorry. You cannot.
He tore the sheets and blankets from the bed. Erich shivered, gooseflesh rippled across his naked body.
The prince curled then stretched. He sat up and glowered at Luke. Luke sat down on the bed and Erich put his arms around him. I am up,
Erich yawned. I am up, now.
Luke smiled. Erich kissed him.
Come,
Luke said. I will get your finest clothes.
No, you will not. You are no longer my squire. I do not want to keep telling you that. You are my mate…. And a knight-in-training.
Luke stood up again and grinned. I like the sound of that…
Me too.
Funny, a short time ago I would have been thrilled to be a knight-in-training but I like the sound of being your mate much better.
Erich smiled up at him and climbed out of bed. He walked up to Luke and touched his hair, traced the side of his face with his fingers and kissed him. He leaned over to his ear. Most definitely.
He put his tongue in Luke’s ear.
You are still going to be late.
Luke laughed.
Blast these formalities. I am the king and I have duties. I must avenge my father. I am getting closer, I can feel it.
Careful my love, you must attend to your people first.
I destroyed a nest of those things on my last campaign. Each time I storm the Northlands I get closer to flushing out Devlin. I must continue my mission and find their lair.
