ACKNOWLEGEMENTS
This book could not have been written without the guidance and generosity of many people. Foremost, my parents who encouraged me on the path of this project. My partner, who was helpful beyond measure. And all of you whose friendship kept this boat sailing.

Chapter 1

Enzio spat with disgust.
What I did was to be beneficial to this house.
Gerome started hesitantly. In retrospect, I should have carried you along but you were in Padua to visit your uncle and time was of the essence....
"Beneficial you say? You have brought ruin to me! What was going through your head when you made such a big decision without me been present? What gave
