The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy is empowering and engaging. It's full of practical advice and strategies to help us identify those areas in our own lives that could use some help and then develop action plans to grow and achieve. It turns an area (personal growth) that can sometimes feel too wishy-washy and theoretical into a systematized and concrete plan to make the changes that will best move you forward in those areas you've identified. It shows you why the little things matter and how small changes have the most incredible impact on your life.
Boiled down, Hardy's book stands for the principle that goal achievement is not a matter of some secret success formula or miracle product or expensive life coach. It's about the daily effort you put towards your goals. Small successes may seem insignificant by themselves, but they build on each other and compound over time and eventually become the big, life-changing success you seek.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Generally a good summary except it completely left out a major part of the book. I read the book in full and it's almost as if the book wasn't completely read for this summary (although an easy read). It left out the portion of recording all of your progress. There was an entire chapter on this that delved into it.

Introduction to Darren Hardy’s The Compound Effect
Darren Hardy is the publisher of SUCCESS magazine. His position puts him at the center of the buzz of the ever-growing personal development industry. He has made a career of testing and filtering through an ocean of self-development tips and advice. In other words, Hardy knows a thing or two about what it takes to grow and be successful in your personal life and career. Wouldn’t it be great if he could take everything he has learned from all his years in the industry and boil it down for the rest of us?
Fortunately, he did, when he wrote The Compound Effect. The book is empowering and engaging. It’s full of practical advice and strategies to help us identify those areas in our own lives that could use some help and then develop action plans to grow and achieve. It turns an area (personal growth) that can sometimes feel too wishy-washy and theoretical into a systematized and concrete plan to make the changes that will best move you forward in those areas you’ve identified. It shows you why the little things matter and how small changes have the most incredible impact on your life.
One thing that sets Hardy apart from other writers and gurus is his argument that the best path—and perhaps the only path—to success is through the implementation of daily disciplines compounded over time. These disciplines
