About this ebook

Andreas was too much of everything.

Too tall, too sexy, too…alpha.

When Kaedyn's aunts sold their old property next door to her house, they didn't say anything to her. Busy licking her wounds after her break up with her longtime boyfriend, Kaedyn's world centered on the peace and quiet that living off the beaten path brought her. The last thing she needed was four of the sexiest men she had ever seen living next door.

Kaedyn was the neighbor from hell.

Too mouthy, too irritating, too…sexy.

When Andreas found the advertisement for a house and land in Harlowe Point, he knew it was just what he and his brothers needed. An opportunity to leave behind the reputation of their father, the previous alpha, and begin a life on their own. The last thing he needed was his sexy, curvy neighbor trying to find any excuse to make them leave.

Determined to chase them away, Kaedyn's declared war and she's willing to go to any extreme to win. But when she discovers an unusual way to rid herself of her problem for once and for all, will it backfire?

This is an 11k word novella about to people determined to fight against the forces trying to pull them together.

I've been reading everything I could since the age of 5 - Shakespeare, Hans Christian Anderson, The Original Grimm's Fairy Tales, my older brother's school books (I was desperate!), and my mother's romance novels. By the time I started Junior High school, I was already beginning to crank out my own mini series featuring cute boys that I would see traveling back and forth to school. It wasn't until I got older, however, that I settled down and began to seriously focus on writing. A friend of mine dragged me off to writing classes at a local college and everything took off from there. For the past several years, I've been writing a character on a superhero blog named Terra Stone.  With Terra, I was able to feed my love of writing and science fiction, since Terra was the only alien on the team. At some point, I'll go back and write her back story, but for now, I'm content jotting down the strange  ideas that come to mind and shaping them into something worth reading. Member of RWA; RWA Cultural, Interracial and Multicultral Chapter, RWA Washington DC Chapter

    Enemy Mine - Toni Jackson

    1

D ammit! Andreas stepped into the house, slamming the door behind him. The windows rattled from the force of the door hitting the frame. Brit, the next to the oldest brother, beamed from his spot on the couch where he was reading. Kaedyn, again?

That woman would try the patience of a saint. Do you know what she just told me? He raked his hands through his hair, leaving his midnight curls standing out from his head at all angles. She just argued with me about the peach tree in the yard. She claimed that - get this - since the largest of the tree's roots extended onto her property, she should have full rights to the tree.

Santana, the youngest, coughed into his hand to cover up his laughter. Dominic had no qualms about laughing out loud. Every day with you two, he sputtered, falling back onto the floor.

We’d love to hear your answer, Brit responded sitting up. He kicked out at Dominic to shut him before turning back to his brother.

Andreas paced in front of the couch, clenching his hands. Of course, I told her she was ridiculous. If I listened to her, then she’d claim full rights to the full six acres. He stalked past them into the kitchen, pulling six steaks from the freezer. It's not my fault we outbid her for the property. It's ours, and she needs to stay off of it.

It’s just a tree, Dominic managed, catching his breath.

The tree is beside the point. It's the principle. This area is one of the few places we're able to settle in peace with enough land to be comfortable when we need to change. With all the development going on, it's hard to find a place like this anymore at a decent price. She's offered me money twice so far, and I keep telling her I'm not interested.

Did you tell her the aunts told us about the spot? Santana spoke from his spot on the floor. After tucking his hands behind his head and crossing his legs, he looked ready to stay there all day.

Andreas tossed his hands up. Of course! She doesn’t believe me. Damn stubborn woman.

His brothers watched him stomp into the kitchen and go through the motions of taking pieces of steak from the refrigerator, then setting vegetables and rice on the counter. Andreas always cooked when he was upset, which worked to their advantage. Technically, it was Santana’s night to fix dinner, but no one wanted frozen pizza when they could have a beef stir-fry.

Brit rose from the couch and motioned for the others to leave the room. Taking a seat at the breakfast bar, he studied Andreas as he hacked through vegetables while the meat thawed in the sink. You two are the most stubborn people I have ever seen. You’re perfect for each other.

The knife hovered over the pile, before resuming its attack on the green and red peppers. If you weren't my brother… Andreas muttered.

Don't be frustrated with me. I mean, if I were a few years older, I'd be knocking on Kaedyn's door myself. She's got curves for days. She's feisty. And her hair is long enough to grab and pull her head back while -, the thump of the knife slamming down into the cutting board let Brit know he hit a sore spot. Shrugging, he slid off the stool and left his brother to his thoughts.

Andreas listened to his brother's steps fade before letting the tension ease from his shoulders.
