    About this ebook

    This ebook is created because, perhaps, there may be people who want to read the personal journal of a man who is dying of cancer. The book began as postings to my blog. It is written for my own benefit, to "get it off my chest". If other people find it interesting, that is a bonus.

    The book began as a travel blog, a record of holidays with my wife while we were still active and interested. Then I fell over with brain cancer and the blog -- and book -- name is still relevant :-) Now, with an aggressive & terminal cancer, I've set my lifetime planning horizon to Three Years One Calendar Month and an Unknown Number of Days. This is -- statistically -- optimistic.

    It will be nice if I live long enough to create a "volume two" of this book -- again, word-for-word from my blog -- but I may die first. If I'm dead... well, not to worry. Because I will be dead. And no longer worrying :-)

    Statistically speaking, I have a 50% chance of dying within 12 months of my cancer diagnosis. Today -- nine months after -- I have reached a plateau in my treatment. I was scanned (MRI) today and will get the results next week. Right now I am feeling physically well... but worried. Next week I will find out if a fresh tumour has started to grow in my brain.

    This seems to be a good time to publish my thoughts as I prepare for... life until I die.
