      The lamppost just ate the front of my van and I’m surrounded by zombies. Could my year end on a better note? It’s already 10.30 p.m. so I’m not holding my breath. New Year’s Eve just wasn’t supposed to be like this. I mean, partying with zombies wasn’t in the plan. Not that I’d call this a party, more of a train wreck, car wreck, whatever. A bit like my life lately.

      I only had one real goal this year and with an hour and a half to go before midnight I’ve probably left it a bit late to get the girl.

      As soon as I saw Liv I knew I wanted to ask her out, to get to know her, to kiss that adorable bottom lip, to take her home to Mum. Okay, maybe not take her home to Mum. Not straight away, anyhow.

      But I chickened out, didn’t I? Big time. Which isn’t like me. Nope, I’m the party animal, the big man around campus, numero uno ladies’ man. I’m the guy that all girls want, at least for one night. I mean, what’s not to love? I’m practically six foot tall. Blond hair, blue eyes and I work out. I even did martial arts for a couple of years when I was a kid so I’ve got all the
