PASSPORTS AND VISAS TO HEAVEN is a detailed examination of the entry requirements for anyone intending to travel to heaven from this side of the world. Heaven is a real destination just like Washington DC is a city with coordinates in the United States of America, Pretoria a city found in South Africa or indeed Alexandria is a city that can be located in Egypt with precision. Travel requirements regulate travel anywhere in this world and heaven as an inclusive destination agenda of human beings cannot be wished off but should be rather planned for on the basis of revealed truths. These truths are described for you to examine for your informed preparation to heaven.

The writer takes you through the holy scriptures’ to discover what the passport and visa requirements to heaven are all about and explains in simple to understand concepts what these entail in everyday living. Salvation is the passport to heaven, Jesus said to Nicodemus "except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God’. (John 3:3). The visa endorsement to heaven for any pilgrim is holiness. Again Paul writing to the Hebrew church emphasized that ‘follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord’ (Hebrews 12:14). The author goes ahead to explain how the immigration process to heaven is organized and who does what in God’s program of emigration of human beings to heaven. The arrival to heaven is not automatic but requires preparation just like any other earthly journey otherwise non arrival becomes a possibility if a careless approach is pursued.

Except the visible church wakes up to the realities of heaven’s requirements to all its arrivals, the church today will just be a noisy, powerless and irrelevant entity in sending men and women to heaven. Moreover there will be much noise raised against the church world from the residents of hell, because of a failed mission. The church is God’s embassy on earth to assist travelers get to heaven as they prepare in this short time on earth. Whether it is the traditional church, Pentecostal church, Evangelical church or Charismatic church there is a danger of a failed mission either by design or by ignorance or simply by presumption.

One clear message in this book is that the journey to heaven is possible for anyone who cares, the cost is affordable and the effort worth the dime. The author paints a vivid picture around these revelations and gives his own life experiences about travel in this world as a prelude to understanding the heavenly journey, before finally going into a comma of thought to take you into the journey scenario from this world to the kingdom of God, Heaven in his own visualization. The ultimate message of the author to all his readers is, SEE YOU IN HEAVEN!

About the Author

Born in Soroti, Uganda in 1962, George Malinga is a Mathematics Education lecturer at Uganda Christian University Mbale university college. He is a graduate of Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with Education. He holds a Masters of Education degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Botswana.

Malinga is the author of over fifteen academic books in mathematics ranging from primary through to university level and involving both the traditional and distance education settings. He has lately published two more books outside of mathematics, Secrets of the East African Wilderness published and University Graduate, What next?

On returning to Uganda from Botswana in July 2005, Malinga has taken several stints lecturing mathematics education courses in various Ugandan Universities including Busoga University, Kampala International University and Fairland University doubling as a lay pastor during these times. Passports and Visas to Heaven is informed by the life experiences of Malinga as he travelled from one country to another on foot, by coach, by train and by air. These experiences are captured in the plot and narrative and are the basis of the imagination released to birth and style the rhythm of this book.

Malinga has attended several short non-credit theological courses in Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya and Uganda and is also privileged to attend the explosive yearly leadership congress of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Lagos, Nigeria.

Malinga is married to Grace and they are blessed with two lovely daughters Anita and Mercy and two wonderful sons Peter and Caleb all professing Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

Introduction

As a pastor just arrived in the town of Entebbe to start pastoral work of persuading men to Christ I have spent several weeks in this town knocking on doors sharing the gospel in the market, homes, hospitals and alleys yet it appeared the people were saying ‘we have heard all that before’. I kept up a few more weeks with dotted conversions despite all the input made, I cried to the Lord and said, Lord give me souls or I die. Then shortly after this I was preparing my Sunday sermon on a Friday morning and I got my notebook to scribble down the impression laid on me after prayer and the words PASSPORTS AND VISAS TO HEAVEN spewed out of my pen. As usual I tugged on to get an outline of my sermon, the shape, the size, the style as humanly as I could and after a couple of hours the draft sermon was ready pending a final version after more prayer later.

To my surprise immediately in front of me I started scribbling the words below inviting men and women for service. I boldly wrote down these words and got in front of a computer to prepare a neat invitation

I prepared my invitation cards and the same afternoon I was in the streets distributing them to the public without ever mentioning it to any member of my church. The response was electric and I could read the faces of my invitees, a mixture of bewilderment, amusement and fear all clothed together. Sometimes it was a sneer and a burst of laughter that accompanied my invitation followed by a bombardment of questions which I patiently explained without giving away my Sunday menu. In other cases the expression on the faces changed to sadness, worry and fear before questions of the credibility of the invitation were pursued. The following day, I met a few my church leaders, just four of us to prepare for the next days’ service. I gave each of them a few copies of the remaining invitations and confided to them, that we would see God moving wonderfully during the service.

On this special Sunday morning at 8.30a.m, we stood up for prayers and I was really excited though nervous. A handful of men and women had honored my invitation and I preached my heart out showing them why both a passport and a visa were a good investment for heaven. At the end of the message, I called out to anyone wanting to get started with the passport and visa application process and the response was overwhelming. All the visitors that morning, together with a handful more of the regulars responded immediately. I led them in a prayer of repentance and soon after, I was home thanking God for his mercies. The following week I attended a church conference in a nearby city and only returned the following Monday, a public holiday. As I finished reading my bible and was looking at the week ahead of me, suddenly, I picked up papers and in a couple of hours I had drafted the skeleton chapters of PASSPORTS AND VISAS TO HEAVEN. I do not know really what I was doing, yet everything moved so fast. Because I was new and had demanding responsibilities I looked up my schedule carefully and with much thought gave myself five months to get the manuscript ready.

Under unknown circumstances, I sat on my table that evening and started writing the first chapter. When I woke up the next day after all important things I was on my table writing away my heart and this continued day and night for several weeks before the draft was done. The rest is now history, as the book is in your hands. I write to you my friends because of the following reasons:

1. First of all eternity must be spent somewhere after this brief life here on earth, and this is the time for our preparation. I write to inform your preparation because the word of God says

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.(Hebrews 9:27).

2. Secondly, for our conversation is in heaven, for whence also we look for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself? (Philippians 3:20-21). Our feet are on this earth but our eyes need to be constantly above.

3. Thirdly, I write to encourage you that whatever you may be going through in the present physical world, take heart.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18).

4. Fourthly, as a Son of God, you need to set your priorities right because:

Beloved, now we are the Sons of God and it doeth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him. For we shall see him as he is. and every man that has this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (1 John 3:2-3).

5. Finally, then my dear readers and pilgrims to heaven. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 7:1).

I write to encourage you that heaven is a real destination and to be desired by all Gods family, the gates of heaven are still opened for all qualifying pilgrims, will you not join the happy throng of men and women to the throne of God? Yes you can, remember it all depends on you, and God has given you all that it takes to get there. Get moving and see you there!

Heaven is the ultimate destination of a genuine child of God. It is the final resting place and yet the present possession of the saints of God. Heaven is not the figment of the imagination of the church cleric nor is it a myth pedaled in religious circles but a place like the present earth is a place. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard of
