e would rather get busy changing the world instead of quietly sitting still. He described himself as down-to-earth and practical, who does not consider meditation as part of his belief system. His initial idea of meditation is that it is a passive way of existing in the world. This is contrary to his desire for social change. He ignored his friend’s suggestion to try meditation as a way to deal with his increasingly stressed body and mind. He was working towards becoming a lawyer and he had many other things in mind. Sitting still did not appeal to him because it seemed so unimportant and irrelevant
