About this ebook

This is a practical guide on helping you figure out what to do after college based on what you are passionate about. We are told that we should find our passion and let that guide our decisions in life. What about those of us who don't know what our passions are? Figuring out what to do after college can be especially frustrating because we know we are supposed to find a career based on our passions. Most of us don't know what to do after college because we have never consciously tried to decide what we are passionate about and what career could make us happy.

"What to do After College: A Guide on How to Find Your Passion" is filled with exercises and practical advice for those who are unsure of their future. For most, this book will speak to them right as they are graduating college or shortly thereafter. For others, this book may take your life in a different direction since you realize you have chosen the wrong career path.

Chapter 1: Introduces the dilemma of figuring out what to do after college.
Chapter 2: Brings you through a guided exercise on helping you find some career choices. Very practical and actionable.
Chapter 3: Another short exercise on how to find your passions, and then advice on how to use these exercises to find a career you will enjoy.
Chapter 4: Defining success for you and advice for how to take action in that direction.
Chapter 5: Walks through the dilemma of finding good friendships after college ends and when we enter the work force.
Chapter 6: Answers questions about marriage for those who are trying to decide if getting married right after college is a good idea. It feels like the "right" time, but is it?

Our goal is to inspire you and to help you find the path in life that feels in alignment with your values.

It no longer matters to me how long I live, but only how I live. How are you living?

    - Rick Rigsby

This book is an attempt to touch the souls that need it, not some flash in the pan bullshit advice about how to avoid responsibilities for a few years after college. It includes real, deep thoughts with practical and actionable advice designed to truly help you navigate what feels like the most lost time in life.

I have this theory that the end of college sets us up for the ultimate let down. In college, we are going to the gym with our friends in the morning surrounded by beautiful people that could result in a positive opportunity at any moment. We actually care about what we are going to wear to the gym because the hot Brazilian girl might be at the front desk again wearing that cute quarter-length shirt. You know? You know. Then maybe you go to class and talk about some of the most enlightened ideas with the most brilliant like-minded people you have met. Who would have ever thought so many people were so passionate about the International Phonetic Alphabet? Then in the evening you do something purely out of passion for the sake of doing something. Most of us linger in the living room while our roommates play music from their computer, someone plays around on Tinder, and another friend is in the kitchen cooking a tiny Jack’s frozen pizza (10 for $10!).

My point here is that in college you are acting all day, every day, based on self-interest. What do you want to do? Do it. Nobody is stopping you and nobody cares. It is in this moment we finally feel the joy of our youth. We always knew we wanted to grow up, and now here we are in this time when we are still young enough to enjoy our youth but not quite advanced enough through life to be buckled by needing to take on shitty things. We are flying freely every day just living life as it was always meant to be lived. Then, it happens. You graduate, and you have that job lined up even though it may not directly relate to your major. But, if we’re being honest, that call center is literally the only call you got out of the 20 applications you put in over the last three months. It sucks, I am literally sad writing this. I was there. I was you. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and a degree in history. My first job was working for a call
