Jeremiah - Women's Bible Study Leader Guide: Daring to Hope in an Unstable World
()
About this ebook
Learn to surrender to God’s will and rest your hope in Him alone.
When we look around at today’s world, hope usually isn’t the first word that comes to mind. In many ways we live in an unstable world where marriages fail, bank accounts run low, friendships end, and the everyday demands of a fast-paced life get us down. In the Book of Jeremiah, we find God calling out to His people with a message of hope—a message that intentional living is possible even in an unstable world. But how do we do this? Where do we start?
Jeremiah offers women hope for living in an uncertain world by learning to navigate the challenges and circumstances of their lives. This six-week study examines God’s words of instruction to His wayward people through the prophet Jeremiah, and provides women six guidelines for intentional living to overcome fear, worry, and doubt as they surrender their wills to God’s and put their hope in Him alone.
Combining rich study of the Book of Jeremiah with practical life application that resonates with the realities and experiences of today’s women, this study inspires all women to dare to hope, remembering that God is rich in mercy and love and has good plans for us.
The Leader Guide contains six session plan outlines, complete with discussion points and questions, activities, prayers, and more—plus leader helps for facilitating a group.
Other components for the Bible study, available separately, include a Participant Workbook, DVD with six 20-25 minute sessions, and boxed Leader Kit (an all-inclusive box containing one copy of each of the Bible study’s components).

Introduction
The words of the prophet Jeremiah echo into our lives and culture with great relevance. This prophet found himself in a nation known for materialism, economic crisis, political globalization, and religious plurality. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Jeremiah’s message from God to the people in their uncertain times was for them to dare to hope—to put their hope in God alone instead of political alliances, material possessions, and people. The underlying message of his writings is that hope-filled living is possible even in an unstable world. It’s a message that speaks to us today as well.
Rather than going through the Book of Jeremiah chapter by chapter, we will explore six hope-inspiring themes that are found throughout the chapters. As we delve into Jeremiah’s writings, we’ll find God calling us to lay aside our worry, fear, doubt, and bitterness and, instead, to dare to hope—not in the government, our family, a job, or even the church, but in Him alone.
Though Jeremiah’s message was not a popular one and the people did not heed his warnings, my prayer is that we will not be like them. I pray that God’s timeless truths from this ancient book will help us take a careful look at our lives and examine where we might be off course and how we can get back on track. I pray that we will choose to be like Jeremiah, who dared to hope even in the midst of loss and rejection and unjust treatment. Though his circumstances remained bitter, he learned to keep his heart soft and hopeful. As we study together, may we be able to say with Jeremiah, Yet I still dare to hope / when I remember this: / The faithful love of the LORD never ends! / His mercies never cease. / Great is his faithfulness; / his mercies begin afresh each morning
(Lamentations 3:21-23).
