"Non, non. Ici monsieur, ici! Here it is grandpa," the friendly Parisian continued in English and showed him the way.
Strange to be back, he thought. After so many years he finally returned to the love of his life. Time flies and not everyone had survived. Far from that.
He had left to live.
And he had.
Still did.
But now he had to hurry.
This was the place for those who didn’t live. The cemetery was old and big. The largest cemetery in the city of Paris; visited by thousands of tourists every year. He had seen the photos. At first in newspapers and magazines. Lateron the images appeared on the internet. Some spirits never die. They change along with the time. Adapt and survive.
He had.
He had embraced a new life.
He had become a true, free spirit. Lived the life of a king in between the ones who loved and adored him. The ones who thought he had passed away. Douglas’ new name did not ring a bell. As his real name was incorrectly rearranged in the cemetery’s directory; he belonged to the crowd of anonymous people.
