- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I found this book to be very informative and I learned things about Melody Beattie now and grab her understanding.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was a game-changer for me. I have struggled with codependency all of my life and never knew it. You do not have to be an alcoholic or be with an alcoholic to benefit from this. My type of codependency is being a caretaker and people-pleaser, always putting myself last to the point of jeopardizing my own heart, mind and soul. This brought so much to light and helped me open my eyes to things I was either unaware of, ignoring, or denying all together. Melody is an incredible writer and her passion for helping people out of the pit of this illness is genuine and transparent. She mixes truth, with real life experiences and allows herself to be vulnerable with us so we can see it is okay for us to be vulnerable with ourselves and others. I have her devotional as well, and it is a God-send to help me through each day.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent book, very clear and objective! With a language that reaches people in general, in the most diverse areas of life, so that we can recognize in our own thoughts and acts certain patterns of behavior that lead us to an emotional suffering that can be avoided or eliminated in order to have a life fuller and happier. I recommend reading for everyone, regardless of the area of study or knowledge sought, because attachment is certainly a factor that generates a lot of suffering for human beings. I venture to say that in some area of life we are all attached to something. Happy reading to all !!!
