- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love it. If you like World War II history you will find this captivating. But be aware that this story can get very gory at times.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book would have been loved by the General and hated by his superiors because what Eisenhower- because of his political bias, missed the true genius of Patton. One does have to wonder about how Patton passed because the very folks Eisenhower warned against--the Military Complex-- did not want Patton returning to the US and giving his view of the European WW II. One has to wonder if there would have been a Cold War if Patton's view of the Soviets as the next enemies would have been followed. On the other side of the coin, Patton was a true warrior who walked the walk of many before him from Roman times on. How well would have Patton survived in a peaceful world. My uncle served under the General during the Battle of the Bulge and while he never spoke about D-Dy or the Battle itself, he had unwavering respect for the General.
