In this charged political environment, in which individuals across the political spectrum appear confused and uncertain of the actions of others, it is good to read a book that purports some underlying analysis and recognition of these behaviors. I am particularly heartened by the concluding chapter and its call to action for recognizing and mitigating socially risky behavior through well reasoned public policy.

This is a series of chapters about how people make decisions involving money and risk. In most of the examples presented there is a financially optimal alternative. Many people will not find that alternative because of the way the problem is cast and because of the exogenous factors.

Great summary! Just what I wanted: a summary of a book to help me decide whether to buy it or not. I appreciate having a summary, to just
tell me, chapter by chapter, what the book is about. Very helpful.
