While exploring the old ranch, the girls stumble on a mystery that involves desperate crooks, the ghost of a long-dead Sioux War Chief, a young Native American man on a mission to save his tribe, and secret tunnels and caves left over from an old Spanish Mission. Throw in a guardian angel who protects the girls from some evil spirits that want to bring the story to a bad end, and you have The Mystery of Ghost Dancer Ranch, the first in a series of faith-filled mystery adventures for kids, featuring Punkin and Boo.

The Mystery of Ghost Dancer Ranch by Patrick E. Craig is first in the Adventures of Punkin and Boo series for young teens. Two young cousins have their summers rearranged for them and off to their grandparent's ranch they go. Each is upset to be away from their friends and to have to stay with a cousin she hasn't seen in a very long time. But the mystery draws them in right away and their friendship renews quickly. Dark caves and tunnels, beating drums, guardian angels, crooks who are determined to get what they want any way they can, and palpable, frightening evil makes for a great book for kids who like a mystery. With fast-paced scenes and ongoing suspense of how in the world will this all turn out, the author does an excellent job of keeping a reader's interest from the first chapter to the last. There is a strong Christian theme throughout the book as the subjects of genealogy, American-Indian history and casinos are dealt with. A good read for youngsters and adults alike.I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

What a beautiful tale that I clearly enjoyed and couldn't help with shedding a tear, I loved the pair of girls nicknamed Boo and Punkin , two teenage girls with iniquitous minds. Boo had found that there was much to discover in the old farmhouse where she was to spend a week at her grandparent's home, and she intended to explore from the attic down, unknowingly that she was way over her way to solve a mystery. This is my first time reading this author, and I think that young and old will enjoy the journey!
