Mark Twain once said, The two greatest days in our lives are the day we are born and the day we discover why. Discovering the why is the hardest nut to crack. The day worth celebrating in one’s life is the day he knows why he is what he is to fulfillment. And that is the core message of this book fashioned to instruct you on how to discover your identity and replace the false identity with the true. 

Every human being at some point in life struggles with hard questions that concerns the purpose of life and the uniqueness of the human race. What is a man and who am I? These are some of those irksome questions similar to a recurring decimal without end. Not even the geniuses’ among us can offer any satisfactory answer to these enigmatic and perplexing questions of life. Because nature and all creation declare without words the glory of the Creator. Moreover, the answer to the questions of life is beyond all the wishful thinking and the conjectures of reasoning. 

There are many things psychologist and philosophers cannot tell us about life because it goes beyond their limited knowledge.  These learned men have searched and reached the limits of the human intellect with no tangible results to show for it.  Proving that supernatural things can only be known by revelation.  And the structure of this book is designed to give answers and guide you with the knowledge that amplifies and respect human dignity. With that in mind, I urge you to maximize your concept of identity because your breakthroughs of tomorrow demand the innovative knowledge of today.

A Word from the Author

To know your identity is to identify God and to identify God is to know your true self. But the most sublime of all is the knowledge of the Everlasting and Unchanging God

John Locke.

Daily the society tells us who and what we ought to be. We are taught to be believe we ought to be someone else to be accepted and fulfilled in life. We are lured with promises of reaching perfection if only we try the new scheme on the block. Some of us jump into the bandwagon believing that we can outperform and attain the perfect image. At the end why can’t I just measure up? We start proving different persona as if it is possible to be transform out of the shelf.

In "Understanding the power of your identity" a book I have written on the need to know our identity, purpose, authenticity, I shares what I has learned from years of research and field works. In ten chapters of this book my focus is to capture the essence, while engaging our mind, hearts and spiritual faculties with the world of identity. Telling and leading on with a story worth knowing in its entirety. 

Who are you? Where am I heading? How did I get here? What am I doing about it now? Each day as you face barrages of messages, I encourage you to think through these questions. And as you do take the great step to reclaim your lost territory. Your dreams, aspiration, persona and where you belong and love to be. But remember you will need a plan established on a rock foundation. The present generation has lost its way and direction in the midst of a great cache of knowledge.

On the wall of a building on the busy street of Athens, Greece, someone wrote, How I wish someone would love, and hug me saying I am not worthless. Having read it, I concluded that in this generation, despite our advancement in technology and sciences, the purpose of life is still unknown. Many individuals exist without hope and a future, some feel disconnected, disenchanted and angry. Others are clueless about what to do. 

And, the graffiti confirms proving there is a void in our understanding of the issues of life. The scrawl also exposes the depth of the brokenness caused by the deliberate ignorance and distortion of the purpose and meaning of life. And that summarized my life before I knew the life-giving principles that transformed my life. I grew up without the true knowledge of my spiritual identity, buried in the grave of ignorance so deep it led to a serious identity crisis in my youth and formative stages of life. I thought identity achieved through the amassing of valuables and intellectual attainment is real.

The more I labored the more frustrated I got. The feelings of worthlessness gripped me with a choking hold.  I drifted without direction and purpose.  I knew something is missing in my life, and I did not know what it is and how to get there. Until I encountered the truth that transformed my life. It so revolutionized my life with freshness, giving it purpose and value. That is how I stepped out of darkness into the bright light of God that brought the true life with purpose within my reach.

This book summarizes my experiences, written to transform your life and allow you to discover the power and mysteries of your identity. You might have heard the expression that knowledge is power yes, it is, but more knowledge tends to lead to powerlessness. And, the epicenter of identity is the power of sound knowledge, driven by the right spiritual power to overcome the wretchedness of ignorance that has retarded the progress of many. 

Through this book, you shall have the full access to the vast treasure of the knowledge of the true self. In addition, be able to respond to the overtures of God. Yesterday lies buried, but today is full of the possibilities to restructure your life to meet the challenges of the future, using the wholesome information gained for a sure foundation.

Your personal identity differs from the ideas and suggestions you may have received from your family. Neither can tradition and secular humanism define you. Your purpose in life does not depend on your name, place of birth, your gender, race and so on. We study and we work because we aspire to achieve success in life. However, that is not who you are, it is what you do. It is God that defined you, He created you; He had put His indelible mark everywhere on you.

Since we live in an interconnected world where ninety-five percent of the earth population is facing conflicts in different degrees.  Many of the conflicts defy any rational explanation. The cultural and religious clashes of our society are the signs of a fractured and a distorted identity structure far beyond what the religious and political elite will admit.  These clashes of identities is like a huge vortex drawing the world closer to disintegration.

In the recent election in the United States of America, identity issues played a decisive role. It shaped the decisions of the voters. The debates between both candidates were a battleground of identity issues. They echo the crisis of identity between the globalist and the nationalist. In this generation, there is a bitter conflict of identity between the free liberal economies and the protectionist, each vying for world dominion.  Also making the headlines is the social intolerance and the disparity between various groups.

Many years ago, a wise man spoke about the signs of the end time. He predicted the end time gender confused society that would usher in a crisis of gender identity. Today we are living in such a time with the issues of transgender ideology making waves around the world. The political elites are re-defining the role of the male and female gender in the society with new legislation.

In this book, I have dealt with various aspects of identity disorder. It is a new area of investigation in the spiritual world with a developmental level of biblical and scientific knowledge. In addition, we shall examine the different symptoms of identity disorder and find a result oriented ways of handling this problem.

This book will be incomplete if the reader cannot communicate his or her identity. The first parent had a communication problem in the Garden of Eden.  You can overcome, if you know the language of communication, as the means that turns identity into an instrument of excellence. It is good to know the structure of identity, but more profitable to understand how to communicate it in reaching new heights.

To all who seek to know the why’s of life and the destiny of mankind, you are the message to your generation.  Discover the message and the power of your identity and position yourself to attain the purpose of your creation. You too can live a focused life, characterized by victory, integrity, effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction through this book.

Chapter One: The Identity of the Fig Leaf

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

(Genesis 3:1, 6-7)

This account is more than an extraordinary description of an event, it is a story embalmed in the history of the race, the source of all stories, suspenseful and nostalgic.  The history of humanity is incomplete without the recapitulating of this unforgettable incident.  The stage is a Garden with three personalities, Adam, Eve and the serpent. They were persons familiar with each other, living in a controlled but charged environment.  As expected, they had frequent interactions with each other and exchanged ideas on various pressing issues. They argued just about anything until the day the serpent brought up questions concerning the integrity of God.

This is the first time a question is being asked in the Bible. And it is interesting that it came out of the serpent’s mouth instead of the Creator God. He said to the woman, "Yes had God said you should not eat of every tree in the Garden?  A curious question whose depth cannot be fathomed, containing a positive and negative aspect, should and should not, combined with a doubt. And it can be stated as yes, doubt a lie. A tactical question without a clear answer. Giving a yes, no or a maybe, does not, and cannot answer the question.

Let us focus on the dicey situation with its complicated choices. A choice that can damn Adam either way. In such instance, do you stand to debate? Or simply reject the falsehood? But the woman pressed ahead like a raging bull and looked at the tree. She replied, But God told us not to eat or touch the tree. What tree? Her response betrayed elements of ignorance and falsehood, it was half-truth mixed with a lie to counter the serpent’s lie.  That was her undoing, tantamount to setting up herself for what was to follow.  Besides that, she was unilaterally redrawing the lines of the absolute limit set by God. Such an inexcusable mistake is common in the psyche of the society. It is called relational ethics. 

And, the Serpent was quick to spot the weaknesses reflected in her misrepresentation of a clear injunction.  And, it worked well to his advantage, furthering his diabolical scheme.  It was the motivation he needed that emboldened him to speak insolently, using his weapon of seduction. He then turned the truth of God into a lie,
