About this ebook
This book contains some of my earliest poems along with poems written much later. These poems were compiled into this book in 2012 when i first started releasing poetry via Gutenberg Self Publishing. They do not appear in chronological order, and are split into six parts each of which relates to a period of time.
Mu Pi Chan
Mu Pi Chan was born in 1959 in a house that was then in the County of Essex, but which now lies within the London Borough of Havering. He was brought up from a very early age just outside Southend-on-Sea (Essex). He spent three years at the University of Kent at Canterbury (Kent), and has subsequently lived In St Albans (Hertfordshire), Guildford (Surrey), and Romsey (Hampshire).Mu Pi Chan has released a number of volumes of poetry (through Project Gutenberg) covering the period 1973 to 2019. Most of Mu Pi Chan's poetry is inspired by the world around him, particularly the natural world and the people of which he is fond. Other sources of inspiration are the works of other poets and books on philosophy, science, and religion. His poems include a number of parodies, jokes and poetic aphorisms based on these readings.Mu Pi Chan firmly believes that writing poetry allows him to release the thoughts in his head which would otherwise drive him mad.

Different Times - Mu Pi Chan
Part 1 - A Lifetime
My Time and Place
For what it is worth
You should read
The words you see
Without thought of me
But as you read
And time you shed
Your world may change
To mine instead
And as you read
More time will pass
Like grains of sand
Through the hourglass
But when it ends
What have you found
But the words
Of another clown
For with the passing of the pages
You will travel through my ages
Until ultimately you will have to decide
Whether i live or whether i die
Part 2 - The Seasons
Spring in North Hampshire
On the ridgeway walk
From Ickpen Hill
Past the gibbet
Designed to kill
Along the path
That leads you on
The hills of Hampshire
With Berkshire beyond
To Walbury Camp
Of ancient chalk
Where our history
Almost talks
The burning beacon coming on
The earl atop now long gone
His distant castle down below
On the lowlands were you won't go
And at last
The rabbits cavort
On Watership Down
With their spring thoughts
Summer in East Essex
Memories of East Essex
Of those wide green open fields
With the clay cracking in the summer
Beneath the water towers on the hills
Memories of East Essex
Of the pylons crossing fields
Through a sky so vast
