The Inheritance of God's Blessing: The Heritage of Christian Values
()
About this ebook
The Heritage of Christian Values - documents author Marvin McKim's storyline of a family over a 300-year period of time. The central theme is based upon people, places, dates and events emphasizing God's Blessing and handy-work in the lifeline. It begins in the1600s with the Fraser Clan of Scotland and then follows the family down through nine generations from Scotland to Ireland; in 1734 it moves over to the New World (America), and finally into the wilds of Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
"As you read this book," says McKim, "I believe you will identify with your own ancestors and the importance that prayer has within a family, in addition to the passing of Christian values for the generations that follow. The prayers and Christian values were the principal contributions that our forefathers gave to us, making America into what we represent today. The countries' foundations are based upon the prayers of many, followed by the blessings from God. Your family will pass values and traits to descendants. All of us encompass the capability to enlighten with our personal Christian beliefs those future generations that will come after us. "The Inheritance of God's Blessing" also relates the important responsibility for family members to be supportive for others within the family. Lastly, it will make you thankful for all the freedoms and opportunities that America gave to our forefathers, and now they have been bequeath to us.

Foundations-for a Family
Image1865.JPGIn the beginning, the Inheritance of God’s Blessing came into the Fraser Clan at the time when Christianity had become the embraced truth among the Fraser Clan families.

The Frasers (Frissel) were sometimes referred to as the race of the forest, and they contained several septs: Frissel, MacGruer, MacKim (McKim), MacSimon, and Sim. The Fraser
Clan territory was located in the Inverness Shire of the Scotland Highlands at a place called Biggar

The specific Norman knight that came to Scotland was Frissel, and he was a descendent of Sir Simon Frissel, who was a supporter of William Wallace.
It was recorded that Sir Alexander Fraser married the sister of King Robert the Bruce.
The Heritage of Christian Values was given to John McKim by his father and was known to have a significant meaning within the McKim Sept. It had been passed down from the McKim Sept within the Fraser Clan. Self-esteem, education, sense of purpose and past adventures was also conveyed in the Fraser and McKim homes.

John McKim of Scotland 1655-1720
From Scotland to Ireland
John McKim was a descendent of Simon Fraser of Inverness Shire in the Highlands of Scotland. It was during a time when he was still a young man that John left Scotland and immigrated to Ireland. In the history of Scotland, many other Scots before John had also immigrated to Ireland.
Image1912.JPGDue to his background and being descended from the McKim sept of the Fraser Clan, a natural calling for John was to become very concerned with the customs and traditions of his adopted country, Ireland. This was the makeup of John McKim, as he was a man who displayed concern for community; so thusly he became a tribute to his fellow man.
This calling for a personal involvement with the concerns of others was passed to John from his McKim forefathers. Within a short period of time, John McKim gained great social stander in Londonderry.
John McKim was that kind of an individual. He was a man who had received from his forefathers the Inheritance of God’s Blessing and the pursuit to have a Heritage of Christian Values.
Image1920.JPGIreland
Following a reasonable period of time upon his arrival in Londonderry, John McKim decided to marry. This all happened around the year 1655. A son was born within the marriage, and according to the custom of his forefathers, he named his first-born son John.
Around this same time period, John was appointed to be a judge of the Orphans Court. The appointment to be a judge was due to his assistance to the homeless, the poor, and the unschooled children of Londonderry.
Image1927.JPGThis status in the Orphans Court took a human being of great character and thoughtfulness, as well as one who respected the human dignity of others.
During John’s lifetime he never knew or was able to uncover the first forefather who first honored this passing of the Inheritance of God’s Blessing. From his youth it had given John purpose and had held an important meaning for him during his lifetime, as it had also done for his father and his grandfather before him.
Sir John McKim of Londonderry
John McKim, still being a young man at the early age of 34 years, was to have besotted upon him another great honor by William III of Orange. Being a man of Christian faith, it was his nature and calling by God to have concern for others, especially for those who were less fortunate.
Image1937.JPGHe was a man who had an attitude of honor, character, and integrity that had been passed down to him from his forefathers. This was the desire to pursue and give honor to the meaning of Christian values.
This mark of distinction of the knighthood was for his kindness to the poor during the siege of Londonderry on July 30, 1689. Following this time of knighthood, John was to becomeknown throughout Northern Ireland as Sir John McKim of Londonderry. The distinction came about from being faithful to the Heritage of Christian Values to give honor to God, which had been passed to him by his father.
Image1944.JPGIt was unknown to him at this moment in time that in the upcoming years, many of his descendents would contribute in the settlingand the written history of a land across the Atlantic Ocean, then known only as America.
As the years slipped by, Sir John became a widower upon the death of his wife. Eventually he married a second time; it was 25 years following the birth of his
