    About the Author

    That Glance

    Ah, Outlaw!

My guns once gleamed as yours do—always oiled and ready.

    As ready as that smile.

The half-bitter one you burn the world with.

    I once smiled that smile.

And I once stood where you now stand—at that daunting crossroads.

For an entire age I stood there—confused, angry, and alone.

    Then restlessness spurred me forward.

Blindly, my impatient feet chose the Boulevard of Dreams.

And for another age I wandered there,

My eyes scorched by nightmare visions,

My body reeling, lurching in the dreamscape.
