About this ebook

Once you enter the Cellar Door it will take you on a journey through love, despair, faith and the perplexing phenomenon attached to the number eleven. The author shares some of his secrets and invites you into his deepest experiences.
Cellar Door is truly a magnificent piece of work considering it is Eric Watts' first official poetry book. It is absolutely a must read for Laymen and poetry lovers alike. Cellar Door will keep you intrigued by the author's masterful use of mystery, haunting scenarios and the unpredictability of many of the poems. It is truly refreshing to read a piece of work that makes its path instead of following conventional wisdom as to what poetry should be.

Eric R. Watts

I was born in Greenpoint Brooklyn; currently residing in Bedford Stuyvesant. Cellar Door is the result of many years writing poetry. I have recited my work in numerous venues and won first place in slam competitions on some occasions. Despite a turbulent childhood I managed to attend college and earn a Bachelors degree.

I would like to take this time out to thank the many people who helped build my character, fuel my motivation and showed me unconditional love. To my five year old daughter, who I asked the question, what is life? She replied, Life is good and fair. To my mother who taught me that only the strong survive. Thank you for pointing out the North Star, making me an astrophysicist at heart. To My Cousin Sharon, thank you for Disney World and those trips to Virginia. You instilled in me the passion to travel. To my father who taught me how to play chess and the importance of following my dreams. To Neil De Grasse Tyson who always answers my emails and don’t mind an afternoon chat about Saturn. Thank you, for being a living model of my dreams. Aunt Diane when all was at an end, you extended your hand and pulled me out of the darkness. You taught me how to be independent and most of all Love unconditionally, let’s dance.
