About this ebook

This book was written to assist the Christian with praising our Lord. For some odd reason we tend to wait for the new car, the new house, the new job, the increase in income before we give God more than the same old Sabbath Day praise. But He (God) is worthy of more than that from us. God is worthy of praise for the things we dont see, the things we over look and even the things that seem to be insignificant to us. It is the mighty hand of God that brings forth all righteousness. And if for no other reason, we should reverence Him for it.

Each passage of scripture will be uplifting as well as inspiring. Discover the bliss of magnifying God from the depths of your heart. Experience the feeling of God inhabiting your praises. Express the passion you have for the Father and all of His goodness. Your joy will grab you, and the Holy Spirit within will burn like fire shut up in your bones. You will find yourself praising the Lord over and over again; and it will become easier and automatic. Like the old saying goes, Itll be a piece of cake.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    INTRODUCTION

HOW TO USE THIS BOOK As you read, the Holy Spirit will minister to you according to your special situations and circumstances. From the moment you began to read expect to receive a higher level of praise. Don’t just read one or two scriptures, read several at a time. Meditate on them back to back, and see how each word will bless your soul.

At the end of Sections 1 and 2 are pages titled Inspired Notes. Use them to jot down your thoughts, how you feel, your prayers, and expressions of praise. Write down everything. This will help you to get familiar with expressing your feelings toward God in a deeper depth. Don’t say, I’ll wait until later to put it down on paper. Write it down while it is fresh on your heart. Also highlight the scriptures in this book that lift your spirit the most; the scriptures that reach out to you. This will give you quick access to those verses that encourage you the most.

Remember, we don’t have to wait for something grand to happen in our lives before we can praise God. Everything He has done for us in the past is still valid. All of it is still worth praising Him for over and over again. And one thing is certain, Satan can’t change the blessings you have already received from God. (Smile)

So go get your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, prop your feet up, sit back and enjoy giving God His praise as you meditate on these scriptures.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

To my father Thomas R. Smith, Sr., in fulfilling your duties as a father you made sure Christ was present in each of our lives. That is the most powerful duty a father can fill in his children’s lives. And I love you for a job well done. To my son Shaun Q. Wilson, my daughter Stacy M. Wilson-Rice, my best friend Otha Newton a special group of people God has placed in my life, I give you my love. Thank you for your support and love during the hard times in my life. During those times God was using to prepare me for the call He has placed on my life. Without the love, understanding and support you have given me…I praise God for you. Also to my Pastor and sister in Christ, Jackie Murphy. I thank you for all of your love, encouragement and support. Most of all, I will always cherish your belief in my work. I love each of you dearly.

I love you Sharon Taylor and Jennifer Thomas

HONOR TO THE MOST HIGH GOD We tend to wait for a grand event to happen before we give God more than the usual Sabbath day praise. But He is worthy of more than that from us. CHAPTER 1

    O BLESS THE LORD

Praising our Lord, I love the sound of those words. If you are like me, I thank God and praise Him so much I find myself often with a vocabulary shortage. There are times I want to praise Him but I just can’t find the words to express how I feel or what I want to say. Actually, in looking back, majority of the time, all I really want to do is express the awesomeness of God. One of my favorite divisions of Psalms is 147:7-18, it reads: Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. He deligheth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. He maketh peace in thy borders and filleth thee with the fines of the wheat; He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly. He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold? He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

As I meditate on this passage, I can visualize God’s work. I can picture the clouds up in the heavens, and just behind each cloud I can see the sky peeking from behind like a child hiding behind its mother. Or the grass growing on the mountainside; and looking up at the heaven exhibiting praise of creation.

Snow covering the ground like freshly sheered wool, showing its beauty. Off from a distance, I can hear the voice of the Lord speaking, and the elements bowing down under subjection to every command. O Lord, I will magnify, exhort and praise you. For who can stand before the might of the great Creator?

Psalm 34:1-3 says: "I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." That is how all of God’s children should feel. We should have the desire to bless the Lord with our praise all of the time. God deserves every ounce of honor we give Him. To be honest, there is no way we can give God the completeness of the praise He deserves for His goodness. But the least we can do is keep our praises perpetual. This book is written for the sole purpose of keeping the praises of God perpetual. When you find it hard to express yourself, keep your praises flowing by meditating on the scriptures set forth in this book. As you began to read and meditate, your spirit will connect with the words and you will feel as though each scripture was written based on how you feel. You will find yourself loving God the more. It may even feel as if your love for God has been rekindled.

    CHAPTER 2

    SCRIPTURES

    PSALMS 1:1-6

1   Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2   But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3   And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4   The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5   Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6   For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

    PSALMS 8:1-9

1   O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory
