    Bruce and Evelyne are Prayer Ministers with the Healing House Network, a Restoring The Foundations Ministry, and co-founders of You are God’s Chosen Ministry. They live in Toronto, Canada. Bruce used his MBA in Finance and Marketing, in product management with multi-national companies. He also worked in Education, earning a National Award in Conflict Prevention. Evelyne earned degrees in French and Education and taught elementary school for twenty-eight years in a multi-cultural urban centre in Canada.

      Chapter 1   Will

      The main character is Will. He represents our conscious processing and decision making. He is influenced by the voices or thoughts he hears from the unconscious.

      Chapter 2   Life Views

      Basic ways we view and interact with the world.

      Chapter 3   The Garden Of Eden—Myth Or Truth?

      The Garden of Eden and its consequences for today.

      Chapter 4   Three Positive Voices

      The positive voices include Hope, Love, and Belonging. These characters are always giving us good thoughts, emotions, and energy.

      Chapter 5   Three Negative Voices

      These opposing voices act as a negative twin for each good voice. They are Despair, Bitter, and Alone.

      Chapter 6   Tallyman

      In meeting Tallyman, you will see the simple laws of cause and effect can be wonderful or deadly. Tallyman represents, in part, the effects of our beliefs and emotions in our endocrine, hormonal, and immune systems.

      Chapter 7   Otto Pilot

      Otto Pilot, our brain’s autopilot, is part of the great unconscious mind that keeps our bodily functions going, while navigating our way to our destiny—we hope.

      Chapter 8   Human Spirit

      Reaching our destiny requires the active leading of our Human Spirit, who provides direction for Otto Pilot and Heart.

      Chapter 9   Heart

      Our heart’s desires can be found in our character called Heart. It is from here that our hopes and dreams emanate.

      Chapter 10 Jesus

      We can develop a friendship with Jesus simply by inviting Him in to be the leader of our life.

      Chapter 11 Holy Spirit

      When we make Jesus the priority in our life, we get Holy Spirit’s supernatural powers, which are the birthrights of those born into the family of God.

      Chapter 12 Demons

      These are spiritual beings without bodies that can have a negative impact on our lives. We uncover how to recognize them and take away their power to influence us.

      Chapter 13 Godly Spiritual Powers

      We reveal the godly spiritual powers that are available for us to implement and give an example of how to bless your children.

      Chapter 14 The Letter From God

      God expresses His love for us in this simple letter.

      PREFACE

      W elcome to an adventure that will take place in your very own imagination. Meet the Secret Inhabitants of Your Mind is a unique and original metaphor that simplifies the natural and spiritual dynamic within humans. We have represented the processes inside our minds, with many characters who influence our thoughts and actions. These characters have their own personalities and special roles.

      As you read, you will discover who you can trust in the battle for your soul. The battleground will surprise you. Many have been deceived by a master of lies. This metaphor appeals to people who are interested in stretching their views of life and seeking the truth.

      We trust you will enjoy using your own imagination to visualize and animate the characters. You will probably encounter some new ideas. We hope you will explore them in depth. We, Evelyne and Bruce (authors), encourage you to use this book as a study guide in small groups to get more out of the concepts.

      On one level it’s fun, new, and interesting. On a deeper level, knowledge is power, so meeting these inhabitants could transform your life. We assume you want to live the most successful and satisfying life possible. When you meet and understand these characters, you will be empowered to achieve your real destiny. Believe it or not, while we don’t know you personally, we care that you, our precious reader, find a more powerful way to live and love. We invite you to join us as we reveal the secret inhabitants of our minds.

      Holy Spirit guided the creation and development of the characters and has led us in our spiritual growth to be able to write this book.

      We believe everything we share with you in this book is the truth. These truths are vitally important, and we hope you will consider them with an open mind. Our characters’ roles are consistent with our understanding of scientific thought, brain research, and biblical study. We are not scientists and make no claims to having created a scientific model for the brain. Rather, we have put together a visually vibrant and uniquely creative way of viewing the human condition. These characters are not from our imagination but were revealed to us supernaturally. You will learn about their exciting challenges, functions, and passions. We constructed a physical set about ten feet long and seven feet high so we could share with you, through photos, what our characters look like and what they do. There are charts at the end of most chapters that provide simple, thought-provoking questions and comments to help you deepen your understanding.

      ABOUT THE AUTHORS

      E velyne and Bruce are Prayer Ministers with the Healing House Network, a Restoring The Foundations Ministry. They are cofounders of You are God’s Chosen Ministry. They have ministered to people from around the world and regularly see God transforming and healing lives.

      Their goal is to connect you with the Father’s love and let Jesus heal your heart. They are happily married and active members of Catch The Fire, Airport Campus, Toronto, Canada.

      Evelyne earned an Honors BA in French and a BEd, and honed her ability to communicate simply and clearly over twenty-eight years as an elementary school teacher in a multicultural urban center in Canada. Evelyne has been a presenter at workshops and conferences, including the North Eastern Regional Conference for Restoring the Foundations.

      Bruce earned a BA in psychology and a BEd. He developed his sensitivity to challenged youth while teaching high-school special education, guidance, visual arts, and dramatic arts for over twenty-six years and leading church youth groups for twenty-five years. Bruce earned a national award for authoring a Conflict Prevention and Character Building program, which was endorsed by the Toronto Police
