      PREFACE  

      As a small boy, growing up on a cotton farm in Arkansas, I would spend time peering through the Barlow lens of my telescope, viewing the heavenly bodies and always wondering………WHY? I always seemed to produce more questions than answers. That seems to still be the case today. The more we learn, the more we realize how little we really do know.

      My entire life has been spent in this quest to know. To know how, and when, and where, and why? I confess that as I have gained some small measure of understanding, I have also come to realize that there lies a vast universe of unknown knowledge before us.
