Miracle Manifest
When I began my conscious journey on the Truth path I was 22-years old. I had just returned to Chicago to live at my parents’ home having spent a year teaching at a small college in Mississippi. I was happy to be back in my childhood home where it was safe.
When I say safe, I mean that everything was familiar. My mother still got up at the crack of dawn for prayer. Ms. Taylor, down the street, still stopped by occasionally with some tidbit of information about community events. My sister and I were having fun staying up late watching old black and white movies and eating Breyers ice cream. It was just like old times.
I was freelancing in the video profession and setting up my own company. At the time, I was working full-time freelance in the television department of a large corporation in the Northwest suburbs. It was a two-hour commute each way but it paid pretty good. Like most people who are not cut out for the corporate world, I was having a difficult time fitting into the environment.
For some reason during that time, there was this song that was stuck on repeat in my head. Whenever I had an idle moment, it kept playing over and over in my mind. Everyday on my way to the job and on my way back from work I would sing, Speak to my heart Lord.
Over and over I would sing that one line.
I believe there was something in me urging me to do something different. So, while still freelancing I started a temporary service for video personnel. The company itself was doing pretty good. Yet, something was missing.
A friend gave me a book called Creative Visualization. It was written by a woman name Shakti Gawain. It contained a lot of basic visualization techniques. These visualization techniques were designed to help the reader create their future by imaging what they wanted. It was fascinating. One of the premises was that I could visualize what I wanted in a bubble and it would appear in my life. It was great! I could literally change my world, one desire at a time.
The same friend (I’ll call her Freda) had lots of experience with this type of stuff. I asked her a million questions. She asked me if I had ever meditated before and I told her that I hadn’t. She invited me to her home to meditate. I readily agreed because I was excited about this new path into creating my destiny.
I arrived at Freda’s apartment one evening, we were there alone. We sat in her living room and prayed. Then we got silent and Freda asked that our meditation be protected and whatever information God would have us to receive that we would receive it.
I felt this tingling sensation. It felt very good. My eyes were closed. But, I saw colors. I saw a beautiful violet color, green and white. The colors were all mixing and moving together. It was wonderful. Then all of a sudden I lost control. My body began shaking uncontrollably. Freda came over to hold me. It lasted for quite awhile. I can’t remember now what I was thinking. I just know that it was a different experience. When my body stopped shaking Freda held me. We were not sure exactly what had happened. Freda said that she had never seen that happen before.
We sat in the silence for a moment and then I returned home trying to reflect on what had happened. I said prayer before I went to bed. Then I got up at my regular time for work. As usually, it was still dark when I left to go to work that morning. On my way to work I thought about what had happened the evening before. I was still curious and a little scared.
I got to work and there was plenty to do. I was working for five different video producers and everyone wanted their work done immediately. Finally, at lunchtime, I took a break. I was sitting there at my desk with a pencil in my hand. I closed my eyes to say a little prayer. Suddenly, my hand started moving and I wasn’t moving it.
I know it’s hard to believe, but I was sitting there with my eyes closed praying. They popped wide open because I could not believe what was happening. My hand just started moving. It took the pencil and wrote on a pad on my desk, God is the greatest. God is the greatest. Believe in the Power of the Most High. God is the greatest.
I looked around me to see if anyone saw what was happening. But, I was alone. Reflecting on it later, I realized that no one would have thought it strange to see me writing on a note pad. To anyone else that is what it would have looked like. But, to me this was definitely something different. I couldn’t wait to get home so that I could tell Freda. Surely, she would know what all this meant.
I went over to Freda’s apartment. She was on the telephone when she opened the door. She motioned for me to have a seat. I sat down and waited for her to finish her conversation. Just out of curiosity, I picked up a pen and asked my hand who Freda was talking to. My hand wrote, Cherylynn.
When Freda got off the phone I asked her who she was talking to. She said she was talking to her cousin Cheryl. I was disappointed. I told her I asked my hand to whom was she was talking and my hand wrote Cherylynn. Freda got excited. She said, That’s what we call her, Cherylynn. That’s what we call her!
Freda went on to tell me all about spiritual writing and automatic writing. She explained that some people have a gift where they can communicate with other realms of existence. I asked her if she meant dead people. Freda explained that no one really dies. Everyone lives after the body dies. The individual spirit moves on.
It was all fascinating to me. After one meditation, I had been given a gift of spiritual writing. I felt very blessed. I felt like God had chosen me for some special purpose. So, I began praying and meditating all the time. And, everyday I would receive messages through my hand.
Sometimes my hand would send me on errands. Once, I was told to get on a bus, so I didn’t question. I got on the bus. I kept riding the bus until my hand wrote for me to get off when the man in the white hat got off the bus. So, I rode until the man in the white hat got off the bus. Then, my hand wrote for me to go across the street and give this message to the man standing there. Tell John that Sarah is the person that he should spend more time with, because she is the one that would help him.
I went across the street and delivered my message. He was a young man, short in stature, brown skinned. He listened to what I was saying. But, he seemed more interested in the food that he was eating. His only response at first was, oh, you know John?
He said his eyes still more focused on his meal. Then he said. Oh, you know Sarah?
He was still focused on the food he was eating until I explained to him that I didn’t know John or Sarah. That is when the young man looked at me squarely in the eyes. I told him that I’m just delivering a message. Who is the message from,
the young man said. Is the message from God?
His eyes were getting wide. I didn’t know what to say because no one had every asked me that before. Everyone always just accepted whatever messages I received as Truth because they always were. I just shrugged my shoulders and walked back to the bus stop.
Now I had a question that was really eating at me. Where were the messages coming from? That was a good question. All I knew is that they were always the truth and that whenever I delivered a message to someone I would always get a big blessing like money or something that I’d asked for. But, the young man’s questions kept going through my head. As I road home on that hot humid afternoon, the question played back in my head over and over again. Who is the message from? Is it from God?
I asked Freda the same question. She didn’t know either. But the next day she came back and told me that the messages were from the Holy Spirit. She said if anyone asked me again where or who the messages were from that I should just say that they were from the Holy Spirit.
I said O.K. but it was around that time that some doubt
