About the Author
Always in honor of my Saviour, Jesus Christ, His Holy
Spirit who leads and guides me every day of my life and God
Himself, the Author and Finisher of our faith
Preface
I have been a prolific writer for over 30 years now. It all began with God
speaking to my heart one day when I was just 19 years old. From that day
until this, I have written down every single word I have ever heard inside.
Throughout my lifetime, there have come many answers, directions and
guidance from listening to that inner witness. There have also been a
number of books produced from this, something which God promised to
me more than 25 years ago. That if I would be faithful to write, one day I
would be a published writer. That promise has been fulfilled already, and
His Word has never returned unto me void. There have been many, many
lean years, but His Promises have remained, unwavering, unconditional
and everlasting.
I wish to honor God in all that I do, in everything which I write for Him.
I long to comfort the hurting souls who do not feel free to share their
inner pain with others. I long for the words I pen to make a difference to
lives unseen, to people I may never know or even know about. I want my
purpose as a writer to be fulfilled. I want to be a blessing not only to those
in need, but also to the God whom I serve with all of my heart.
I would leave this thought with you. I have struggled my entire life with
deep depression, although being greatly gifted in spiritual matters. Anyone
who feels that God cannot use them or does not hear their heart cries,
believe me, He does!! I am a living example that whatever God has promised to you, no matter how fantastic it may seem or how long it may take
to come into fruition, take my example. It will come to pass, in God’s
time, in His way and with His blessings.
It is my sincere desire that those of you who read are encouraged, com-
forted and given direction which you seek from the Hand of God,
through the words which I have penned over an entire lifetime. May
God’s richest blessings rest upon you, and may you feel His Spirit near to
you always.
Acknowledgements
This page is so easy to write, because I remember so well thirty years ago,
when I was just a young person, new to the Lord and His Ways. I had a
few very close friends, who always believed that it was God moving upon
me and working through me. Their unwavering faith in me, not only as
His servant, but as a writer of His intent, lit a fire within me that time has
not erased. My first Christian mentors were Barbara Easley and Ruth
Sloan. These women served as surrogate mothers to me, bringing me such
inspiration and wisdom about the things of God. Norma Shaw, a woman
of great and unfailing faith, took me under her wing and listened to the
words God gave. She believed that I was called of God, despite my young
age, and she was the most major motivating factor of my early years. Steve
Merrified, also a prayerful woman of God, shared in her belief that God
was using me as His instrument, that I was called to be a writer for Him.
Over time, her own daughter, Morgan Morel, became my staunchest sup-
porter. She married a man, Danny Morel, and together they offered a
strong confidence in me as a gifted writer. Ruth Zimmerman, a woman of
great wisdom, who looked beyond all of my flaws and saw that God’s
Spirit rested upon me in a special way. These people never failed to listen
to my pain and to encourage me in my dreams and purpose for God. I
owe a debt to each of them which I will never be able to repay.
I also worked for a man, Robert Rice, attorney at law, who befriended me
and never doubted that God was implanting me with gifts to eventually
bring me forth as an inspirational writer. His belief in me was based on his
ability to see the potential and graces bestowed upon me. He is a Godly
man, whose influence just cannot be overestimated. My saintly pastor,
Brother H. C. Noah, whose belief in me was unsurpassed and had a major
impact on such a young life. The one thing I wish to convey here, especially, is that your encouragement towards a young person in his vision
and gifts God has imparted unto him cannot ever be overestimated.
Trusting God is the single most important thing that any one of us will
ever do, by our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our own personal Saviour
And the next most valuable, powerful influence we have, is to encourage
our young people to be all that they can be in God, to pursue their
dreams, to refuse to give in to circumstances or society, but to remain
faithful unto God.
I not only believe this through faith. I have actually seen it come to pass in
my lifetime. For this, I will ever be grateful to those who believed in a
young girl without any fortune, fame or notoriety, and who loved me
unconditionally in spite of it all. They saw something in me, which only
God could have imparted unto them. Their faith in me made me who I
am today.
Of course, I must acknowledge my husband and life-partner, Riley Womack. He has put up with me for 35 years and is still here. That says it all, I
think. He has known from the day we met that one day I would be recognized as an inspirational writer. He has supplied the means I needed in
order to write these books. He took my mother into his life as his own,
when she had no where else to turn. He shares my feelings, my fears, my
good days and bad, always believing in me as a writer. He knew this, when
I was just a new Christian, because God’s Spirit signified to him that it
was so. He has never doubted that witness, nor have I.
I also would like to acknowledge those who have made a significant
impact on my life as a fully developed adult. These people came into my
life more than two decades later, but always with the same attitude of confidence and belief in me as God’s instrument. My gratefulness for their
belief in me cannot ever be described. Even as a writer, I find myself at a
loss for words to these people who never wavered in their confidence that
one day, God would prosper all that I had been faithful to write, and open
the doors for me to become a published writer.
Barbara Passino, a Godly woman who crossed my path for a very short
time. Over the years, she has supported me in all my endeavors and been a
consistent encouragement to me that God had created me as a writer of
His words. Brenda P. Sibley, who entered my life right after the loss of my
mother. She taught me that the gifts lying dormant in me were meant to
be used. In attempting to bring healing to her life, she in turn brought
healing to my own. Her godliness and perseverance is an inspiration to all
who know her. Brenda Race, a woman who came into my life just a few
short years ago. She has taught me so much about developing fruits in the
Lord. While being gifted at such a young age, it took decades for me to
grow what few fruits of the Spirit I possess. I still have a very long way to
go. She holds out her hands to me in continual belief and support of me,
not only as a writer, but
