    Preface

A baby reflects purity and innocence in a world where such characteristics are hard to find. Most importantly, a baby expresses the true bliss of life while spreading sweetness in every corner of the world. For example, the slightest smile of a baby can lighten up the gloomiest environment, whereas the slightest cry of a baby can shatter a happy atmosphere into pieces.

In reality, a sculptor sacrifices a lot of time and hard work in order to create an art piece that represents the artist. After the sculpture is completed, the artist proudly displays his work of art in an exhibition where it stands out amongst the other sculptures. At this point, the sculptor stands from a distance, admiring his finished work of art.

A baby is similar to a small work of art that is yet to be molded into an extraordinary sculpture. Right from the beginning, a baby is nourished by only two individuals. Parents are the sculptors who work day and night to mold their child into a beautiful human being. Parents work selflessly to do anything for their children without expecting anything in return. These parents willingly sacrifice time and energy in order to shape their little baby into a person with positive morals and values. They work relentlessly to create a mature and understanding individual from that same shining star that came into their life.

As the new born baby slowly opens her eyes, she sees excitement on her parent’s faces. Her father shakes a small toy in the air which makes the little baby giggle, and her mother continues to cradle the baby in her arms. From that point, the baby feels a sense of security with her parents. She feels trust and confidence only in her parents; they will never harm her and will always be there to support her.

The months quietly trickle by, and the baby becomes old enough to start walking. Before taking her initial steps, the baby looks at her parents, who are standing a few feet away from her with encouraging smiles. The baby begins to walk without a second thought that her parents will let her fall. When she is about to lose balance, she grasps her mother’s hand and continues to walk again. Right then, she realizes that her parent’s will always be there to guide her on the right path.

As time quickly passes by, the young baby becomes a stunning young adult who has learned everything she can from her parents. Her parents realize that the time has come for their little child to go out into the world and create her own identity. They feel sad about being separated from their baby, but understand that they have done everything to help their child succeed in life.

As the young adult lets go of her mother and father’s hand to venture out into the world, she turns around to look at her parents one last time. She sees her parents standing far off in a distance admiring her. She sees her father smiling widely and beaming with happiness while her mother is wiping a tear on her cheek. As the young adult waves at her parents from a distance, she has a secure feeling that her parents are always going to support her. With that thought, the young adult walks into a crowd and immediately stands out as an independent and unique individual.

    Chapter 1:

    The Wilson Family

Come on, honey! You can do it! Come to mommy! responded an anxious voice.

Come on! Walk to daddy! Please! echoed another excited voice.

Mark, get the camera. I think she’s about to walk! replied a woman’s voice. A tall, slim man immediately stood up and retrieved the camera from the living room sofa. He wore a red collar shirt neatly tucked into his khaki pants. His brown belt matched the color of his short hair and his sharp features gazed admiringly through the camera lens. He stood motionless and faced a small baby whose face was covered in a recent lunch meal of banana mush. The baby had bright blue eyes and plump, rosy cheeks which looked like two protruding miniature tomatoes. Her stout body was covered in soft, moist skin, which at the present moment was hidden under scattered layers of banana mush. The baby’s arms and legs were lying casually by her sides while the window brought a fresh breeze that moved the little pieces of hair she had on her head. She seemed intent on drinking her milk, but just as the camera caught her attention, a gleam of mischief sparkled in her eyes. Slowly and steadily, the eight month old baby put down the milk bottle. She stared determinedly at the camera lens and tried hard to stand up on her chubby little legs. The baby immediately fell down with a soft thump and was ready to let out a cry.

Look at daddy! Mark Wilson said with the utmost enthusiasm. He was holding the camera, which was focused solely on his first child. Mark was moving from side to side to catch every angle of his baby child, who at this time was gazing into the camera, mesmerized. She stood up again and tried her best to reach her destination: the camera. Gradually, the baby picked up her chubby little foot and took her first step. Excitedly, while picking up speed, she took her second and third steps. She waddled across the carpet floor and after taking several steps, fell down with a small thump again. But this time, the little baby did not stop for anything. She stood up and waddled another couple of steps, this time in full force. Suddenly, she tripped, but was caught just in time in her father’s arms. No sooner, the little eight month baby was found giggling and churning with laughter right beside her parents.

But, mom! Mark exclaimed. I can’t leave my family here and go to the city alone! he complained. "What if something happens after I leave? I can’t do this, I just can’t leave home!
