    Dear Readers: Writing has always been a part of my life, I love the feel of a fresh sheet of paper and a pencil in my hand. It has a power over me that has helped me through some tough times, and I will always be thankful for that. This power is able to take my mind off of the stressful things occuring in my life and creating a new life on paper. The characters in this novel, Abigail and Levi, both have qualities that are very similar to myself, and certain things that evolve are challenges that I had to face. The fear, the love of others and the hope of one day returning to familiar ground. I live with my parents and younger sister in Rosedale, British Columbia, but my other ten siblings live in the vacinity. Yes, I have eleven siblings. Growing up, I have many happy memories of times spent with my six sisters and five brothers. Creativity was always a big part of our lives, we spent hours outside inventing activities and games to keep us occupied and content. Thank you to everyone who has helped me in my writing career, whether it be through teaching, encouragement, or the love of my family and friends. I love you all more than you'll ever know. Thank you.
