I am grateful for two strangers who influenced the writing of this book. In my current position, I talk with many people throughout the United States. During the course of completing routine tasks at Bank of America, I spoke first with a man from Black Duck, Minnesota, named David Morrison. He told me the doctor said he had a brain tumor. He said everyone, including his neighbor, have been so friendly. He ended the call with, "They have been there all the time. I’ve just noticed them.

The second man I spoke with was Kat Kavyneau, from Hinesville, Georgia. The doctors told him he would never see again. After being blinded in the Vietnam War, he said he thought God had forgotten him. He said his wife told him to stop saying what he can’t do and begin saying what he can do.

Hopefulling this book will bring you some kind of comfort in

your time of trials or tribulations. I hope you receive your breakthrough to carry you to another level. I tried to touch on many areas in your lives ranging from betrayal to what do you see. Please help me spread the word of God in the byways and highways by telling your friends and family to encourage them along the way. Please feel free to e-mail me at htpublications@aol.com.

    Introduction

I am so excited about We Are More Than Conquerors. My primary goal is to be used by God to bring deliverance and peace to this nation and generation that have been plagued with despair. I am hoping to take you back to the root that stands the test of time. I want to turn curses into blessings. Generational curses can be broken because the devil is a liar. After reading this book, you will learn how to take a stand and understand that we should not be caught off guard when the enemy comes into our camp to kill, steal, and to destroy. We will put the full armor of God on.

My book is based on simple stories told in parable to illustrate a moral truth. I have used psychology (the science of the mind) to denote mental and behavioral characteristics of individuals and groups. Parables are generally used of a somewhat lengthy utterance or narrative drawn from nature or human circumstances, the object of which is to set forth a spiritual lesson. Synoptic parallels are used in short sayings found in Matthew 15:15, Mark 3:23, and Luke 4:23. It is a lesson that is of value. The hearer must catch the analogy, if he or she is to be instructed to hear such a narrative or saying dealing with earthly things with spiritual meaning.

I can go days and months without writing anything. This book was put together from God’s visions to me. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he (Pro 29:18). I am hoping this book will make a major impact on your life. You will learn how to get back the love you gave out. In this book you will learn how to control your emotions by having self-control. We can control our thinking (2 Cor 10:3-5), and therefore, we can control our emotions, thereby controlling our actions. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… (Pr 23:7a). Learn not to hate the person, but hate the negative actions. You will be able to discern right and wrong, know it was the flesh attacking you and the spirit man is just waiting to be free, which will give you a better relationship with loved ones.

I hope that after reading this book you will learn to say with power and authority, Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Remember that the person attacking you is under the spiritual authority of Satan. Fight the evil spirit and not the person. God equips us with tools to turn defeat into success. Know that what He blesses no man can curse. Believe in yourself and the power of God within you. In the midst of your trials, remember what Job said, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. Keep on fighting and never give up. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor 10:4).

I was given the gifts of prophecy and seeing visions at a young age. I was born with a veil over my face, a phrase the old people used. I’m a believer to make a difference in our relationships. We have to look beyond others’ faults and see their needs.

Jesus’ parables most frequently convey truths connected with the subject of the Kingdom of God. I’ve used similar comparable parables and modern day circumstances that affected one’s conditions, making them comprehensive to Biblical times. And he spake a parable unto them, ‘Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch’       (Lu 6:39). I use simile to demonstrate a figure of speech in two dissimilar things

Since my last book, In The Mind of A Poet, my book signings have been great. I was very honored that Governor L. Douglas Wilder (former governor of Virginia), Congressman Robert Bobby Scott, and Martin Luther King III signed my book. I’ve been featured on Cox Cable in Hampton Roads, Virginia (South Eastern Virginia), and in local newspapers. I am grateful to the many people who bought my first book.

I’m certain that We Are More Than Conquerors will inspire you to reach a new level in life as you move towards victorious living. I’m hoping that you will turn away from that spirit of fear. You can accomplish your goals, hopes, and dreams. On our ride to victory, we’re going to start with hope. This is all some of us have when we’ve lost everything else. I leave this question with you. Can you truthfully say at the end of the day you brought sunshine into someone’s life.

Let’s start at the victory line. YES!

    Overview

Life has never been easy on Easy Street. In order for life to run smoothly for you, your choices will make the difference. You will learn from this book that you get out of life what you put into it. Stop making excuses. We all have issues. Some have more than others. I find it interesting to know in almost every household there is a Bible; however, in many homes they stay closed. It seems the thinking is if you own one, you are protected. Satan laughs at us because he knows that as long as this Bible stays closed, we have no power.

We all were given the same opportunities. The key is to take advantage of them. I wrote this book after I talked to people with everyday problems that seemed to overwhelm and mystify them. They become overwhelmed when satanic and demonic forces come their way. You don’t have to accept defeat. Satan wants you to think that you are not in control of your thoughts. God has given you a way of escape from negativity. Jesus says, Peace, be still. When He speaks, things change.

Since God gifted me at an early age with visions, dreams, and the spirit of discernment, I asked God to help me help others to overcome and believe in themselves. As God blesses you to do so, never look down on anyone. If you are not received by others after you have done all you can do, wipe the dust off your feet and move on. Never think you are better than anyone.

While writing the last chapter of this book, we experienced a strong hurricane named Isabelle in September of 2003. Many of us in Southeastern Virginia were with without electricity for several days. I had no lights for eight days. I did not let this stop me from writing this book. I did as the people did years ago prior to electricity—I used a candle. It seemed I became more regenerated, and I had the willpower to go forward. When the lights finally came on, I felt as if I was in battle.

The aftermath of the storm left lasting marks on all of us. No matter how much money an individual had, we were all at the mercy of Isabelle. After all of our food had spoiled, many of us required government assistance to restock our refrigerators, cut fallen trees, and clean debris that littered the area. During this time, people came together to help one another. Hundreds of people stood in long lines to get debit cards for food as well as long lines at gas stations. What I am saying is that we ought to treat others the way we want to be treated. When Jesus comes, we will all be in another line. It’s not what you have. It’s what you have in your heart. A storm can make you stronger! Even an eagle knows to get out of the storm, you must fly higher. Let’s soar to higher heights in Jesus.

    The Silent Warrior

In this cold, cold world, we the people depend on the storm.

Life is like a vapor; one moment we’re here, the next you’re gone; but life goes on.

Just living can chill one’s heart.

The silent soldier walks slowly through life’s hell.

He faces and feels the burning flames.

Blood slowly drips his mighty sword as the dead soldiers lie at his feet.

You can’t turn back for your destination awaits you.

As darkness leaps across the sky, suddenly someone or something calls your name with a vibrant voice.

The echo alone trembles the ground, for only the dead is among you.

Your fears chill your soul, but your determination drives you forward.

Only death can stop you now.

    The Inner Man

You yell in frustration like a beast in the jungle.

The pain in your soul is almost unbearable.

The earth is a cold place to exist.

With glassy eyes, you maintain your self-control.

The inner man has the intellect to choose his destination.

Pain has to be accepted as well as pleasure.

We, the students of life, understand the struggles one has to endure to exist.

So be gentle with life’s most precious and valued treasure—yourself.

The inner man is best described as a spiritual power that exists within mankind

And is motivated by the will one has to succeed.

    Chapter One

    Betrayal

    John 6:70-71

Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him being one of the twelve.

    The Snake Story

While walking into the woods one day, I ran into a snake—cold, frozen, and hungry. I took him home and put him by the fire and feed it. A few days later while I was sitting in my chair, the snake bit me on the leg. As I was dying, I looked up and asked why? He looked and said with a smile, ’You knew I was a snake when you picked me up!’

When I was only 12 years old, I went to visit my sister in Georgia. When I came back, my best friend had taken my friend. I say friend because at 12 that was all it was. I found out quickly that I couldn’t put my trust in man. I learned you could be hurt by the one that’s close to you because your enemy you keep afar off. I also learned life goes on.

I forgave my friend, but things were never the same because the trust was gone. The moral to the story is life is like a chess game. Know when it’s time to say, Game over or Checkmate. It doesn’t matter when or how the devil positions himself; God has the last move.

King David was an old man no longer able to ride with his soldiers. His oldest surviving son, Adonijah, decided to betray his father because he wanted the throne for himself. Adonijah went to the chief priest and the Army commander and received their support. He held a feast celebrating and proclaiming that he was king. The prophet, Nathan, and Solomon’s mother, Bathsheba, went to David’s bedside to report what had happened. David was furious, since he promised the throne to Solomon, his youngest son. He ordered Solomon to ride through the city on a mule accompanied by David’s most trusted soldiers, the prophet Nathan, and a priest—publicly anointing Solomon as King.

I was a battered wife for years. My first marriage lasted 24 years. The first 10 years were great and the last 14 were hell on earth. I had two children and I had promised myself I would hang in there for them no matter what. Ironically, I didn’t realize I was a battered wife until I saw a television show that talked about women being in denial. I dropped everything I was doing and gave the show my undivided
