      INTRODUCTION

      About 11 years ago I was saying a little prayer, thinking, This is just in case anyone is listening. At the time I was very scientifically oriented. I was in the science club in high school and took microbiology just for the fun of it. I thought that science had it all figured out. But ironically, I still believed that I had a guardian angel and said a little prayer every night before I went to sleep just in case. On this occasion I was saying a prayer in the morning. As I was saying the prayer I suddenly saw Jesus. What do I mean, you ask? He was inside of me somehow and I saw him standing with his arms wide open. I felt in an instant that he knew everything about me and I was embraced by an unconditional love that earthly terms cannot explain. He never spoke with words, I just knew what he was saying, his message was in my thoughts. He said that no matter what I had done he would always love me and that everything would be all right. I knew at that moment I was home. Somehow it was familiar to me, this place where everything is known about everyone and nobody is unloved because of what they have done. I jumped up, feeling a surge of energy shoot through my body and said to myself what the heck was that? I know that this message was not just for me, it was for all of humanity. So remember, no matter what you do, God will always love you. I know people say, But what about those who commit unspeakable crimes? All I can tell you is in the end everyone is accepted and no one is left behind. Now you may say, That doesn’t seem fair, but I think it is comforting to know that whatever you have done in this life is forgiven and nothing you may do will keep you from being loved. In the end, all judgement is our own we are always loved.

      I didn’t tell anyone about this experience with Christ for years because I thought no one would believe me and I was still trying to understand it myself. I did know from that moment forward without a doubt that God was actually real. I say I know because it is not just a belief when you experience it; you know that it is real. And even in the retelling of this story I know that somehow the magnificence of the moment seems lost, mere words cannot express the glorious love that filled my being as it illuminated the way back home.

      Oddly enough, I started my search for the home a couple of years later. I was invited to go to a tarot card reader by a friend. I had never gone to one so I thought it would be interesting. The impact of this reading on my life marks a turning point not because she was able to tell me of future events in my life but that she was also an astrologer and did my astrological chart. Something about her ability to understand me by looking at my date of birth fascinated me and so my search began. I started with a book that was lent to me by my mother-in-law. It was Linda Goodman’s Love Signs. The preface to the book made my search for more knowledge unquenchable. I then read her book, Star Signs, which was filled with ideas and concepts that rocked my world. From that moment forward I saw the world differently. The only way I can explain it is that nothing was as it seemed. I read, read, read, and read every single book I could get my hands on. I read so many books from the New Age section of the bookstore that one day I opened my closet and there were books everywhere. I thought to myself, If I give these books away, more people will learn about this secret, that I had stumbled upon. So I did just that. I put a table up in the front of my house with all the books on it, with a sign that read Free. Ever since then, when I see my books are piling up I do a free-for-all, which has included anything around my house that I no longer use or my family has outgrown. I recommend this idea to everyone because I find it cleansing and it makes me feel less cluttered, both in my house and spiritually.

      I have learned in my search that the more you give knowledge away the more open you become to new knowledge. The goal in writing this book is to give you a myriad of methods or how tos to help you remember who you are and what it is you wish to accomplish in this life. It is also sprinkled throughout with inspirational stories, personal pearls of wisdom and helpful hints to light your way. In the reading of this book I hope to help you jumpstart your search or add to your learning maybe one new concept that you didn’t already know, as I have been helped by all the searching of these others who wrote books about their journeys before me.

      PAST LIVES

      I have done past life regressions on my own through self-hypnosis techniques that I learned in Brian Weiss’s book Many Lives, Many Masters as well as with past life regression tapes. If you want to try this on your own what you need to do is find a quiet, comfortable place and allow your body to completely relax, working your way up from your feet calming every area of the body until you reach the head. You can then use a couple of different visualizations for the regression. One of my favorites is seeing yourself at the train station. Watch as a guide or divine being approaches you and trust their guidance in your past life discovery. See the train coming, watch it stop in front of you, open its doors, and then get into the train with your spirit guide or a divine being. Sit down and imagine the train moving at warp speed backward in time. When you get off the train you will be stepping directly into a past life. Look around. Where are you, what does it look like, what are you wearing, are you a man or a woman, a child or an adult. See someone walking toward you. Imagine them calling your name. What is it? Put a mirror up to your face. What do you look like? And if you feel comfortable enough say, Show me what I need to know from this lifetime. Accept without judgement all that you are shown and know there is a reason for needing to look at whatever it may be. If you like, you can leave this past life and go to another one within the same meditation. All you need to do is get back on the train the same way you did before. See the sign on the train, which reads Past Life Express, see the guide or divine being that is with you, and ask to be taken to another past life. You can go to as many as you wish. Have confidence that it is real. You can go back to your birth in this lifetime or even into future lifetimes—the sky is the limit.

      During one of my meditations I saw myself in a midwestern town as a woman named Ana and I worked in a brothel. In the next couple of days I practiced this past life visualization many times, just touching on other lifetimes but I almost always came back to this one being Ana. I tried going to a past life regressionist and again I went into this same lifetime. The only difference was this time I was able to see different aspects of the scene as it unfolded. I saw things in more detail, I cried, I felt strong emotions, and I started to recognize people from my present lifetime. They had different bodies but I knew it was them. I felt ostracized for who I was and what I did by the women outside of the place I called home, which was a building with a bar downstairs and rooms upstairs. Inside that place I was comfortable and accepted. I am detailing this life because from that past life regression in the office of the regressionist I made connections to this lifetime. When I was younger I lived in an apartment that was above a bar. I lived this life feeling isolated from others, never feeling like I fit in, sometimes to the point that others feel I am a snob although that is not the case. I find myself pulling away from the popular crowds for fear of being rejected. At that moment I had made the connection between this life and one from my past. This was a turning point for me because within a short amount of time of this revelation I went to a seminar featuring Brian Weiss in Manhattan where he did a group past life regression and I had a beautiful experience. I need to regress here a little bit before telling this story because I feel it is important to understand the significance of the experience.

      My sister has a meditation group that meets every Friday and I have been there a handful of times over the years and on one such occasion we did a past life regression. After the meditation my sister said, I didn’t know you were at Calvary, and I said, What’s that? She said, That is where Jesus was crucified. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. During one of my self hypnosis past life meditations I had touched on a lifetime where I was with Jesus on the mountain where he was carrying the cross and I washed his feet. So when my sister said this I was astonished. I never told anyone about my past life regressions, especially not this one, because I felt that people would not believe me. I asked my sister how she knew that I was there and she said because she was there too and saw me. So I kept this information to myself and we never talked about it again. Now getting back to the seminar with Brian Weiss and the group meditation, I went through all the guided
