Donal A. Dahlin

Donald A. Dahlin, born of a Norwegian mother and a Swedish father into a family of three brothers was raised in the Baptist faith and resided in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. He graduated from the National College of Chiropractic, and practiced in Chicago for 32 years acquiring unique experience with life energy phenomena while using a new science of examination and treatment. He worked as an orderly in the Chicago Cook County Psychopathic Hospital, augmenting his college course in psychiatry. Dahlin received training and experience with hypnosis, and suffered as a result: introversion, amnesia, inner tension, stress, eyestrain, headaches, backaches and depression. He made a full recovery of these symptoms after being trained and assisted in a new form of psychotherapy. Donald A. Dahlin is married, had one son who died in infancy, and retired to Arizona with his wife Patricia, in 1995.

A POINT OF VIEW & DEDICATION

French historian Ernest Renan made this warning prediction:

The day when belief in an afterlife shall vanish from the earth will witness a terrific moral and spiritual decadence. There is no lever capable of raising the entire people, if once they have lost their faith in the immortality of the spirit. ¹

Fyodor M. Dostoevsky echoed this when he said:

If you were to destroy in mankind the belief in immortality, not only love but every living force maintaining the life of the world would at once be dried up. ²

    Professor, Doctor Albert Einstein observed:

    Science without religion is lame,

religion without science is blind. ³

These men could foresee a culture that needed help. Let us try and meet that challenge!

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

    My sincere appreciation to:

    A. Powell Davies for his explanation of how the Dead Sea scrolls reveal the construction of Jesus’ life and ministry as related to the Essenes, Paganism, Gnosticism, Judaism, and other religions existent at the time.

Larry Dossey, M.D. whose excellent books provide information that amplifies our present understanding of the effectiveness of prayer in healing, as well as prayer used as curses (and attitudes) in causing others to suffer illness.

George Goodheart, D.C. founder of Applied Kinesiology, whose discoveries created a whole new science of examination and treatment of the living body, with insights into life energy, instant biofeedback and magnetic healing.

Georges I. Gurdjieff, who established a very basic and yet powerful system of progressive meditation practices, as well as a method of waking up from man’s constant use of self-hypnosis.

Carl J. Jung, M.D. for his case history report of the self-determined element in his irrational behavior and illness, and its resolution.

Count Alfred Korzybski, founder of General Semantics, for his views concerning the proper use of language for rational survival.

Elaine Pagels for her research and report of the Nag Hammadi Library unearthed in Egypt in 1945, that clarified how and why Christian orthodoxy altered, organized and constructed the Christian religion, casting out Gnosticism and reincarnation in favor of myths so that Christianity would survive as a distinct religion, among many religions existent at the time.

Ian Stevenson, M.D. for his dedication to the task of investigating paranormal phenomena especially that related to the reincarnation of the soul and it’s evidence found in present life subjects in terms of scars, skills, talents, etc.

Thomas S. Szasz, M.D., Professor Emeritus, an out-spoken critic, who has defined his own profession of psychiatry in terms that are unmistakable, with the constant hope of improving it.

Also, my sincere thanks to the countless number of authors who have stimulated my thinking along these lines, including the non-fiction group of the Professional Writers of Prescott:

Agnes Franz, Alice Greiner, Donna Olson, Beverly Chesterby, Elisa Drachenberg, Cody Williams and Mike Carolin who assisted me in learning how to critique a manuscript.

Best of all: my loving appreciation to my dear wife, Patti, for her patience, constructive criticism and corrective editing of the manuscript through its numerous versions.

    PREFACE

This is your introduction to a natural approach to mental health that encourages self-reliance, ethical and moral behavior, assists the person to handle his own problems, and monitor his own conscience, health and behavior through his postulates.

This is done through supervised one-on-one Soul Guidance Counseling with alternatives of private Rehab Meditation so that you may have unlimited progress.

The welfare of the individual, our society and culture is dependent upon effective knowledge. For the past century we have had some advances in knowledge about man and his potentials but this information has been suppressed by the news media that is financed and controlled by the drug industry and psychiatry, as part of a conspiracy that had its roots in the late 1800s, becoming more active in the 1930s.

They have taught you that religion is a superstition, the soul of man is a delusion and that we are nothing but one step above a chimpanzee on the evolutionary scale.

The conspiracy of psychiatry is to gain prominence in the world and eventually control and dominate the lives of every human being. The National Education Association (NEA), whose goals are socialism, joined the conspiracy.

    A privately stated goal was the eradication of the belief in morals of right and wrong, the destruction of religion, education, law (the courts) and the field of medicine. This also included the destruction of the family, the drugging of everyone from cradle to grave, etc;

Their formation of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) and membership in the World Health Organization (WHO) has been successful in spreading their influence worldwide.

Professor Emeritus Thomas Szasz, a lifelong critic of psychiatry has reported that we have begun entering The Therapeutic State. where mental health care is enforced.

There is much more, but this information was presented in the appendix of the first edition of this book published in 2004, and was removed, revised and expanded into another book entitled – The Conspiracy, Fraud, Quackery and Death of Psychiatry © 2005.

That was yesterday. The death of psychiatry is imminent if you will learn more about it and help make it happen!

Today you are invited to learn the truth about your amazing mind, about your nature as a spiritual being (a soul), your potentials for a healthier, happier and rewarding life and how to attain it.

The information in this book is based on clinical studies, research and logic and is workable and valuable to the extent that it is used exactly as presented.

Unlike the practices of psychiatry and psychotherapy that are ineffective in the treatment of mental illnesses and mental disorders we are not dealing with the treatment or "cure" of any mental illness or disorder or any physical sickness.

The emphasis in this book is effective knowledge that you may use every day in your life to handle your stresses, emotional upsets and problems; to become the person you have wanted to be. In short, it’s placing the responsibility where it belongs, on you.

Is it possible to destroy a religion? Yes, psychiatry believes it has attacked religion successfully. The great number of myths presented as factual found in Christian writings had been under attack for centuries. Myths are unnecessary in our modern age and many biblical scholars testify to that through their books, and prefer truth as stable and indestructible. Should antiquity and ignorance rule over knowledge and rational thinking?

Ask any minister or priest to discuss with his congregation the infamous Inquisition, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Nag Hammadi, or Catholic history and its influence upon Christian theology and you will be met with a stonewall of silence and cover-up! We will cover that later.

To preserve Christianity and to de-emphasize mythology is to bring to everyone, regardless of race, creed or religion – the essence of what Jesus Christ taught that is essential for an understanding of one’s own spiritual growth.

Jesus declared, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Read chapter 18 and get a good summation from biblical scholars of the Gnostic religion of Jesus Christ that could survive free of mythology, ritual and ceremony. Buddhism has done it; Christianity can do it too!

My ambition is not to destroy Christianity, but to give it strength to survive destruction from psychiatry, and the Papacy and hierarchy of the Christian religion that survives only through preserving mythology and avoiding obvious truth.

Understanding the true existence of the soul, its’ creation of the mind by postulates that determine one’s ethical and moral conscience as well as physiology and behavior is different from one individual to another. This puts a lie to the claim that mental disorders and behavioral disorders are mental diseases and due to abnormal brain chemistry!

The power of the postulate fits well into the observations of science and is used in mathematics. For our use, it may be said to be a decision, a self-evident truth that a person posts in the future for his own use.

More precisely, a postulate is a conclusion, decision or resolution made by one-self that resolves a problem of the past, decides on problems or observations of the present and sets a pattern for future behavior.

An individual unaware of the power of his postulates can haphazardly create his own hell for himself and for others in trying to undo his unusual behavior. It is simple to do this and it doesn’t require truth serums, drugs, hypnosis, shock treatment, psychosurgery, or anything so drastic.

The power of one’s own postulates as a form of self-hypnosis is the answer to understanding the modus operandi of the rehabilitative routines for Soul Guidance Counseling in chapter 7.

The message and practices found in this book are spiritually guaranteed to reveal your hidden potentials, develop them and change your life – to the degree that you read and apply its progressive and practical approach. This does not involve positive suggestion or hypnosis, but is a system devised to release a person’s natural abilities. It challenges and guides you to think, remember and find your own answers!

I trust that this book will serve as a spiritual sword into the utter complacency of the Christian orthodoxy to reform Christian practices and theology to provide with greater strength and enthusiasm the true message of Jesus.

The Soul Guidance Counseling and Rehabilitative Meditation system of G. I. Gurdjieff, were originally designed by me to be used in a religious stronghold under spiritual, moral and ethical guidance and protection. Realizing the extreme dedication to antiquity, dogma, and a religious hierarchy that some clergyman have, I have expanded the explanations so that any group, religious sect, denomination, or religious creed could adopt its practices, freely, adhering to the basic principles encompassed herein. It may also be done by one’s self, if necessary.

Much of the information research and discoveries in this book has been done and reported by others and appropriate acknowledgement is made. I have made some contributions and have compiled it so that it is linked by discoveries and life energy phenomena -– thus it is better for the reader to read the book in consecutive chapter sequences as each chapter builds on previous explanations.

The problem of not having a word that relates to both sexes and burdened by his/her and he/she references is resolved by using the male gender only, however, it is not the author’s intention or desire to exclude the female gender.

I invite the reader to challenge the material in this book, to discover for one’s self what is genuine and applicable in one’s life as well as in the lives of others, and finding it, to spread the knowledge around and use it!

The power of an idea to convert a barbaric society into a civilized society was the goal of earlier religions and it is the hope of this author that this book may assist in serving this same purpose, as it is needed.

May you have as much enjoyment and insight in reading this book as I have had in preparing and writing it.

Soul Guidance Counseling is the natural approach to mental health, handling the problems of life and of conscience and behavior to an optimum result. There may be quicker, more efficient practices available that may augment it, compete with it or replace it. Rehabilitative Meditation developed by G. I. Gurdjieff is separate and stands on its own merit.

The essence of this book is searching for spiritual perfection; the kingdom of God is within you. Focus on knowing this as your main goal in life and let all other things be secondary. If everyone did this, we would have a heaven on earth. I believe this is the message Jesus wanted you to have!

    INTRODUCTION

A BRIEF VIEW OF SCIENTIFIC ENDEAVOR

Science is the game we play with God

    — to discover what his laws are.

Science has advanced in the past two centuries to a better understanding of the physical universe, nature and man with emphasis upon the physically observable aspects that can be measured, checked and verified. This chapter is but a brief review and reminder that while science is still progressing, that it has reached some very interesting and revealing facts about the nature of man. This chapter is pertinent to the remainder of the book, but it is not a treatise on science.

What is the source of that intelligent evolutionary principle that culminates in the creation of man that he should rise above lower forms of life to such heights to think about his own origin, behavior, ethics and morals, philosophy and religion, to be actively creating a number of things (such as the automobile, radio, television, airplane, computer, satellite, rocket ship, etc.) as well as to examine his mind and body and the tiniest components of the elements he is created from?

That’s a Big Question! Can we sum it up? Are elements the source of creation—or is there a God and/or a spiritual universe?

A student of science has a lot of ground to cover to understand the progress that scientists have made, but rather than to go into unnecessary technical details, we will let the student refer to the books listed in the bibliography and we will refer to some of the findings and conclusions of the scientists.

Early Concepts of the Elements and the Universe

The early scientists were amazed by the phenomena of gases and explosions they could produce by a combination of certain portions of earth or rock.

They believed that the elements were like little round balls of energy. Each element was different and could react or interact with other elements to form gases, liquids and solids, as well as poisons, fire, explosions and death.

Some early chemists were called alchemists, who believed that they could influence the creation of new elements as well as the growth of plants. They also believed that it might be possible to change lead into a precious metal such as gold, and as well, by combining their energies with the elements could attain spiritual abilities. Very interesting ideas!

At the time of Jesus Christ there was a common belief that the sun and the rest of the universe revolved around the earth, and the earth was the fixed center of the universe. The various planets or stars were thought to be lanterns held by angels. There was great resistance to any challenge of this.

Nikolaus Copernicus, (1473-1543) Polish astronomer, challenged that assumption and proved that the earth revolved around the sun.

Galileo Galilei, (1564-1642) Italian astronomer, physicist and mathematician, measured motion, frequency, velocity and duration of falling stones and, pendulums.

Rene‘ Descartes (1596-1650) French philosopher and mathematician, developed many of the fundamentals of mathematics and proposed the idea of the universe as a great machine.

Isaac Newton (1642-1727) an English physicist and mathematician discovered the laws of motion, which operated the great machine.

Charles Darwin (1809-1882), English scientist developed the theory of evolution as stated and defended in his works, The Origin Of Species (1859) and The Descent Of Man (1871).

    The Mechanical Universe

In the 19th century Newtonian physics was expanded with the concept of atoms as building blocks of the universe. The universe was conceived as behaving like a great machine or a mechanical clock with various predetermined cycles to go through. This implied that man is like a pawn on a chessboard, manipulated by the elements and is not self-determined, has no freedom of choice or free will. God had apparently built a mechanical universe, put it on automatic and left for parts unknown. It was believed that all physical reactions have a physical cause and that the universe is permanent and unchanging.

In other studies of science, it is evident that the rotation of the earth in its relationship to the sun and moon produce the event of night and day influencing the activity of hormones in plants, animals and humans to produce a form of hibernation or sleep, and wakefulness, repair, growth and activity which is essential to life. However, it is obvious that while all life forms require some form of hibernation or sleep, and wakefulness, that an element of chance or self-determinism to delay or monitor this is involved, and that it does not happen automatically upon sunset.

It is also known that the rotation of the earth in relation to its orbit around the sun causes a change in the earth’s gravitational field bringing on our seasons.

The moon’s orbit around the earth creates a magnetic field that affects the tides of each body of water and life forms on earth.

Thus, electro-magnetic and gravitational fields exist to monitor the growth, reproduction and behavior of all forms of life.

We are all familiar with the North and South poles of the earth and how their magnetic effect can influence a compass.

What is least recognized is that each pole has a very specific effect upon living forms. Albert Roy Davis and Walter C. Rawls, Jr., tell us that the energies of the North pole exhibit a tendency to inhibit growth, while the South pole energies exerting its influence at the equator, tends to stimulate growth!

They also reveal that the human body is created from many subtle electro-magnetic fields. These fields can apparently interact with other fields as in the process of prayer and the remote healing of others.¹

Scientists believing that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution is correct, have considered that all life forms developed from chemical compounds formed in the sea and were ignited by lightning to give them the spark of life. They have tried to duplicate this in laboratories but cannot create life forms.

They point to DNA, the individual biological blueprint. They can clone a duplicate form through a living cell from another life form, but cannot tell you how the DNA was formed or how it was organized into a plant or a living organism.

In searching for the origin of life, they have looked to the sky, wondering if life originated from some planet and was transmitted to earth. Where is God?

    The Fields of Life

Biologist Harold Saxton Burr, of Yale University, using meters to make measurements, made a discovery of electrical fields surrounding plants, animals and humans. He called it a Life Field or an L-Field that apparently has an influence on their growth and function. He also believed that this could be interfered with by weather changes, etc.²

Sheila Ostrander and Lynn Schroeder tell about the research team that made an amazing discovery using a viable embryo of a salamander. The cells that would eventually become the hind leg were removed and transplanted into the embryo at the point where the foreleg would develop, assuming that the knowledge to create the leg was inherent in the cells that were transported. However, what happened is that the legs grew normally! Apparently, an organizing field caused the cells to grow into a specific mold or pattern.³

    The Birth of Quantum Mechanics

Barbara Lovett Cline describes the lives and discoveries of the men who revolutionized the field of science. The new physics depended upon the methodology of logic as involved in mathematics, in which Albert Einstein led the field. She writes:

In 1909 the only known particle of an atom was the electron, but as a result of research, in 1911 Ernest Rutherford announced his discovery of the nucleus, as he later named the atom’s charged core.

On the basis of scattering experiments, he had been able to estimate the size: the nucleus was ten thousand times smaller than the atom—as small comparatively, as a pinhead in an auditorium. Yet, in the nucleus was found nearly all the atom’s mass. Outside this minute, heavy speck at the center of the atom was space. There electrons were found in enough numbers to offset the positive electricity of the nucleus. Rutherford was forty when he discovered the nucleus and already he had won the Nobel Prize. This had been awarded him for the demonstration that radioactive atoms change spontaneously into atoms of a different nature, a discovery which helped to direct the attention of physicists to atomic structure. Later following up his discovery of the nucleus, he was the first one to knock out a part of it and thus change one element to another by artificial means.⁴

Gary Zukav presents a different format and while not dealing with the lives of the scientists, goes into great detail of their discoveries in a pleasant, simplified manner.

He says that the laws of Newtonian physics are found to apply to the every day world, predicting events and the motion of trains, planes, cars, as well as the motion of planets, but not to subatomic phenomena.

Quantum mechanics, on the other hand, is based on experiments that are conducted in the subatomic realm, and predicts probabilities pertaining to phenomena found there in the invisible realm that permeates the entire universe.

In 1900, Max Planck discovered that atomic energy is absorbed and was emitted in chunks or spurts. Until that time, light was thought to be wave-like. Light as atomic energy was found to be not a continuous stream but was discontinuous, coming in spurts. Max Planck called these spurts quanta.

Zukav says that a quantum is a quantity of something, a specific amount; the word mechanics applies to the study of motion of bits and pieces (quanta). At the subatomic level, mass and energy change continually into each other. The energy emitted from the subatomic particles is seen as waves under certain circumstances and under other circumstances is seen as particles.

Zukav added, Quantum physicists ponder questions like Did we create the particles that we are experimenting with? Incredible as it sounds, this is a possibility that many physicists recognize. He continues:

The new physics tells us that an observer cannot observe without altering what he sees. Observer and observed are interrelated in a real and fundamental sense. Access to the physical world is through experience. The common denominator of all experiences is the I that does the experiencing. In short, what we experience is not external reality, but our interaction with it. This is a fundamental assumption of complimentarity.

Michael Talbot tells us that scientists have reported that an electron can manifest as either a particle or a wave. When a particle is viewed by an observer, it can turn into a wave. Niels Bohr has pointed out that if sub-atomic particles only come into existence in the presence of an observer, then it is meaningless to speak of a particle’s properties and characteristics as existing before they are observed.

    A stray viewpoint:

Scientists have believed that energy fields have their origin in the elements and that the elements are primary, however, in the process of creation, energy fields may have been created prior to the evolution of the elements, and are an integral part of them. Energy fields may be of a higher hierarchy than the elements in the process of creation!

    Space and Time or Space/Time

Barbara Brennan explains that Albert Einstein’s theory of Relativity shattered the Newtonian concept of the mechanical clock universe. According to relativity theory, space is not three-dimensional, and time is not a separate entity. Both are intimately connected and form a four-dimensional continuum, space-time. Thus, we can never talk about space without time, and vice versa. Furthermore, there is no universal flow of time; i.e. time is not linear, nor is it absolute. Time is relative. Both time and space become merely events to describe phenomena.⁷

Experienced time is a mental construct in that it has no independent existence apart from the order of events by which we measure it, as it requires a conscious observer. Without conscious memory of what takes place from one instant to another as a motion of particles in space as objects, sounds and smells—recorded in the human mind as mental pictures, time would not exist. It is only in conscious reflection upon the past instant and the present instant does the motion of a particle become recognized as a form of intuition. Otherwise, like a motion picture film, a single picture is without motion.

    Time is Relative.

Experienced time is not measurable by the clock. Remembering a past event of one’s experiences (that originally occurred over several hours) may only take seconds or minutes. It also takes no time to travel in memory to the past, present or the future; it is all a matter of time-shift, for past, present and future are all in the now.

It is possible for two observers in two different frames of reference to relate in a manner that is both meaningful in terms of their own motion and in terms of the other’s motion. Two observers can perceive the same event but in a different time/space.

One person may see the event as it occurs, at that time/location. Another person may foresee the event before it happens as a form of intuition or prophecy.

If we are bored, time appears to drag but if we are enjoying ourselves, time appears to fly! – Time is a funny thing: you never know you’re wasting it until it’s gone!

Newtonian time, which we are all familiar with, is a linear flow marked by the cycles of birth, growth, decay and death of life forms, elements, objects and structures; by the daily sunrise and sunset, the seasons, the calendar and the clock. And it applies to the 9 to 5 work-a-day world.

As you may see, we have two ways of considering time: one view is that time is a mental construct: a creation of thought, and the second as Newtonian time where the physical universe is created in a time-span of its own.

Wilder Penfield, a Canadian neurosurgeon operated on the brains of some epileptic patients who remained awake and pain free because their skulls had been anesthetized. By using an electrical probe, he contacted various parts of the brain and found that he could cause the patient to re-live a specific experience, with full perceptions, seeing and hearing exactly what was said, etc. By later re-contacting the same area, he could elicit the same experience that the patient remarked on. Further experiments along this same line brought the same results. He believed that memories were stored in specific cells of the brain, and could be played back like a tape recorder.

However, he noted, that regardless of how much probing he did—there is no place in the cerebral cortex where electrical stimulation will cause a person to make a decision or conceive a belief! Consciousness does not have its source in the brain.⁸ The soul (I) was apparently not found to be a functional part of the brain!

    The Holographic Universe

Marilyn Ferguson, tells her readers about various aspects of scientific endeavor, especially dealing with the mind/brain.

Karl Pribrum, a Stanford neuroscientist, interested in relating brain research to theoretical physics became associated with Karl Lashley, who for over 30 years was involved in searching for the elusive mechanism in the brain responsible for memory.

Lashley had trained rats to perform a series of tasks such as running a maze. After removing a specific part of the brain, and after the animal’s recovery, he sought to find out if he had eradicated the memory of their training. He found that Wilder Penfield was wrong, because no matter what portion of the brain he removed, the animal might suffer an impairment of motor skills, but the memory of their training was intact.

Pribrum concluded that memory was not stored in specific cells of the brain but was stored throughout the brain as specific frequencies perceived through the channels of sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, temperature, etc. Later, Pribrum learning about the phenomena of the hologram concluded that the brain must also function as a hologram!

    What is a hologram?

A hologram is seen as a three-dimensional picture of an object that is created by a lazer beam split into two separate beams: the first beam being bounced off the subject to be photographed, and the second beam is allowed to collide with the reflected light of the first beam and the resulting interference pattern is recorded on the film. The resulting picture on the film looks irregular, but when viewed under a bright light source is seen as a three-dimensional object. If you were to cut off a part of the film, that piece of film could reproduce a three-dimensional view of the entire object!

The whole is in the part.

Scientists have discovered that what we see, hear, smell, taste and feel is recorded on our brain cells as specific frequencies of the vibrations of matter.

Later Pribrum was troubled by the thought, If the brain knows by putting together holograms—by mathematically transforming frequencies from out there—who in the brain is interpreting the holograms? Where is the I—the entity that uses the brain?

Who does the actual knowing? asks Ferguson who comments: or, as Saint Frances of Assisi once put it, What we are looking for is what is looking.

Ferguson says that Pribrum, later giving a lecture on the subject to an audience, realized that if the brain is holographic, and that every person in the audience had a holographic brain, that we must be living in a holographic universe. A universe of illusion! ⁹

Physicist Doctor David Bohm conceived of a similar and independent conclusion of the existence of a holographic universe when he considered that the effect a particle of energy can exert is intimately interconnected with all other particles. Anything that happens to one particle affects all other particles. There is no separation. The effect is transmitted instantaneously; space and time playing no role. Thus, the entire universe may be visualized as a dynamic web of inseparable energy patterns, an unbroken whole, that everything is enfolded into everything, so that each part contains information about the whole entity.

The idea of non-locality implies that anything that happens to a particle is not a local matter, but is non-local in that it can exert its effect anywhere. If you stub your toe, your entire body knows about it instantly. If you pray for or think about a person many miles away, he can know it instantly.¹⁰

Another physicist John Stewart Bell, independently came to a similar conclusion. Bell’s theorem of non-locality states that if distant objects have once been in contact, a change thereafter in one causes an immediate change in the other – no matter how far apart they are, even if separated to the opposite ends of the universe.

Where do the elements come from?

Perhaps some day, some scientist will be able to explain how the elements developed. Here is one answer, but you will note that at the end, there is a loophole.

Louis C. Kervan, a French scientist and biologist proposed a theory in 1959 that enzymes present in the soil, plants and other life-forms could transmute one element into another! Some elements can be made by the enzymes in animals, and some by the enzymes in plants. Micro-organisms which include bacteria and fungi are a concentration of enzymes.

The conversion of one element into another takes place through an alteration of the nucleons and protons within the atomic nuclei induced by enzyme activity. Therefore under enzyme activity by adding or subtracting a proton, the atom is changed into a different element!

This discovery, according to Kervan, has huge

implications for many different fields. For example, in the field of nutrition, people have taken vitamin and mineral supplements for the remedy and prevention of deficiencies that could result in poor health. Because enzymes can convert the elements, the problem of decalcification (osteoporosis) and the strengthening of fractured bones can be healed rapidly by means of organic silica, found in horsetail, an herb:

    Kervan says:

Fresh green vegetables (young plants) radishes, etc. contain a large amount of silica. We now know it is due to the ingestion of fresh grass that milk-cows can excrete more calcium than they ingest, without decalcifying. The pregnant woman who breast-feeds her baby may correct her diet by adding a small amount of horsetail to her food in order to avoid decalcification.

According to Kervan, organic silica under enzyme activity in the body can be transmuted into calcium. The secret of good health is to return to natural foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables and grains (which contain enzymes) and to avoid those foods where the enzymes have been destroyed by heat, and have been chemicalized, processed and canned, etc.¹¹

But, a question arises and this is the loophole: if enzymes are composed of the elements, are they really capable of altering them, or is something else involved? (What is the something else?)

    Computation Zero

Mathematicians have always had to deal with an imponderable in their equations: the zero. What does zero represent? Before an Indian Hindu visualized a something that was nothing, people could only use numbers one through nine that they could add, subtract and multiply, but it only went so far.

Making a circle by placing his thumb and index finger together, the Hindu considered that a circle surrounding an imponderable would be helpful in mathematics. He was right. This opened the horizons to science. Mathematics could go to infinity!

In chemical considerations, hydrogen has one proton in the nucleus and one electron in the orbit, and the other elements have a progressive number of protons and electrons. The question arises: what came before hydrogen? The zero is encountered again, but this time the answer appears to be pure energy or is it? What is that unidentified imponderable?

Remember: matter is composed of concentrated energy, but where does it come from? Do the elements fashion planets, structures and life forms?

Marilyn Ferguson refers us to Paul Dirac, a nuclear scientist, who in 1928 discovered anti-matter, said:

All matter is created out of some imperceptible substratum, nothing-ness, unimaginable and undetectable. But it is a peculiar form of nothingness out of which all matter is created.¹²

Doctor Tiller of Stanford University is quoted in Time Magazine:

When we consider that from the earliest consideration that the elements have been broken down into infinitesimal parts until ultimately pure energy is left, we are left with one great possibility that men from earliest times have considered, the idea of a God or a spiritual universe. One of the greatest discoveries is that sub-atomic particles do not arrange themselves by accident, but they have a built-in blue-print or guidance system. From this viewpoint, it follows that everything that exists in the material state is preceded by an idea or thought.¹³

Gary Zukav quotes John Wheeler of Stanford University:

May the universe to some strange sense ‘be brought into being’ by the vital act of participation? Participator is the controversial new concept given by quantum mechanics. It strikes down the term ‘observer’ of classical theory, the man who stands behind the thick glass wall and watches what goes on without taking part. It can’t be done, quantum mechanics says.¹⁴

Dennis Overbye, also quotes John Wheeler:

Unless the blind dice of mutation and selection lead to life and consciousness and observer-ship at some point down the road, the universe could not have come into being in the first place. In some strange sense, the quantum principle tells us that we are dealing with a participatory universe. Without observer participancy, there is no physics.¹⁵

    Philosopher Huston Smith says:

Science monitors observables, especially as quantifiable. It cannot handle values, meanings, purposes, qualities, invisibles, and our superiors.
