Our World, Our Choice - Annie Templeton

    PART I

    Bringing Back the Spark

    (Annie’s Story)

Hi! I’m Annie. Join me in an exploration of the human spark that unites us all and the wild ride we call life. My desire is to ignite this spark within myself and others and to make our journey on this Earth an intelligent, loving adventure towards a bright future, blessed with rich possibilities that we create through our own raising of consciousness. To support this process, I am privileged to share with you the wisdom of Ascended Master Saint Germain and snippets of our spirited connection. (An ascended master is a spiritual mentor, teacher, or healer who once walked the Earth but now helps from another dimension in spirit.)

My life has been about people and service. Human beings have always fascinated me—their behaviour, capacities, beliefs, diversity, courage, compassion, and complexity.

I have been a Mora therapist for over twenty-five years, and the human spirit I witness daily through my patients humbles and enriches me. Mora therapy is German-electro acupuncture, a treatment that combines acupuncture principles (using electrodes rather than needles), homeopathy, and electromagnetic rebalancing. It was created in Germany by Dr. Franz Morrell and Eric Rache.

Within one session, the Mora can be used to detect and treat ailments, bringing the body back to the yin/yang balance for each organ and energy system. I’ve yet to find a more effective means of treating chronic or complex conditions. Because Mora therapy requires a two and a half–hour initial consultation, I am fortunate to have many people share their lives with me at a deep, intimate, and vulnerable level. Allowing the time for people to get to know and hopefully trust me sets the tone for a relaxed and honest interchange and an unhurried sacred space for them to tune into themselves and what they desire for their health.

People have graced me with their truth. Their pain, loss, triumphs, courage; their love and commitment to those they care about; their hopes and dreams; their yearnings and frustrations; their disbelief and disillusionment; their joy and passion. When people suffer poor health, they start getting very real about themselves. Often the search for answers leads them to question their values and lifestyle and what it is that makes them happy and healthy.

It’s a sobering thing when your health turns sour. Personally, I’ve had to fight for good health all my life, with my first twenty-nine years undermined by chest and sinus infections, migraines, and deep fatigue. Through my own search for solutions, I became an acupuncturist, which then led me to the Mora, through which my health and resilience have steadily improved. In fact, I feel better at fifty-seven than I did at twenty-seven!

I remember treating a woman in her mid-eighties who asserted, You get the health you expect! Unfortunately, I observe many people who have little or no expectations of good health. However, if they raised the bar and searched a little more outside of the square, they could discover modalities of healing appropriate and effective for them, which could lead them back to wellness. My biggest buzz is when patients return months after their initial treatment and say, I feel like my old self or I’m back! Look out world! or I feel normal for the first time in my life. Bring back the spark, I say!

This spark fascinates and inspires me to help elevate expectations for our health, our lives, our relationships, and our Earth. Right now, Mother Earth is ailing as we ail. She is neglected as we neglect ourselves. She is being stripped of resources as we are being numbed to our own power and resources. She protests with changing, tumultuous weather and natural disasters just as we become more uneasy and frustrated with the way the world seems to be going.

The beginning of 2011 saw several northern countries literally snowed-in; earthquakes, landslides, and mini-tsunamis scattered the globe; and of course, closer to home for me, massive flooding followed by category five Cyclone Nasi in my home state of Queensland, not to mention fires in Western Australia and more floods in Victoria. Then came the 6.3 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand! Chaos seems to be becoming the norm as we search for answers, strength, and a sense of unity. The courage and widespread acts of kindness the world has recently witnessed through the flood, cyclone, and earthquake crises have proved powerful heart openers that remind us that we are all connected and at our core is a desire to reach out and comfort a fellow human being in strife. And to value life!

This spark of human decency is always present but often hidden under layers of worry, fear, disillusionment, frustration, or fatigue from the constant striving to stay afloat in such rapidly changing and frantic times. We are being shaken up whether we like it or not, and I believe all the good stuff is rising to the surface. Talk to anyone evacuating their homes—they’re not packing their plasmas. They’re grabbing for dear life their family members, pets, photos—and maybe their insurance policies! Powerful natural forces have a habit of stripping us bare to remind us of what is truly meaningful to us.

Similarly, the global economic crisis has brought many back to basics and further highlighted that security from without can be a tenuous thing.

We’ve all witnessed this struggle and treading of water in others and ourselves, but what I also deeply sense is that, despite hardship, ill health, or stress, an awe-inspiring, deep quality of spirit shines through us all. This keeps us going through the tough stuff, still ready to come up with compassion for others, still hoping for the light at the end of the tunnel, still willing to try again or start over. The world indeed experienced such a powerful upsurge of hope and willingness for change during the 2008 presidential election in the United States of America. It was such a letting go of past conditioning in favour of right action and positive leadership. This immense intent to heal and move forward will impact strongly on mass consciousness and has already brought the world a little closer, I trust.

The human spirit offers up such breathtaking love and resilience, undaunted by outward conditions and soaring to the top when we most need it. It’s the essence of every passion, every determined effort, every stoic or courageous act, every persistence in the face of obstacles, every expression of wonder, and every kind or tender gesture. Then there are moments when the sheer humour of a situation breaks down all barriers and connects us in the joy, lightness, or ridiculousness of being human!

Australia and the world saw an immense outpouring of love in response to the death in 2006 of Australia Zoo’s Steve Irwin. He was such a feisty, passionate, and joyous example of the human spirit indeed! He was a human spark that hopefully showed us how to connect more with each other, animals, nature, and our Earth. Such demonstration of intent, goodwill, and overwhelming compassion touches that spark in our own hearts and raises us up above the mundane to feel the wonder of connection.

It’s the lack of connection, to ourselves and others, that causes so much pain and separation. Steve Irwin didn’t feel separate to others or the Earth or his beloved animals. He lived a life of discovery, adventure, service, and gratitude. He uplifted and touched the hearts of many by being totally, outrageously, gloriously himself. How many of us could claim we live this way?

Let’s adventure to discover and express more of that human spark in us all. My first book, Your Life, Your Choice, was designed to be a little toolkit for life, to assist us all in doing life a little more graciously. After all, we don’t pop out of our mothers and receive a manual on how to live well. We generally blunder about, taking on other people’s beliefs and conditioning, and wonder what we’re meant to do! Let’s face it: life can appear scary, amazing, preposterous, and wondrous—all in one day!

    The Joint Venture

This book, however, is a joint venture (in truth, the first one was too, but I just didn’t know it!). Much to my amazement, a few years ago, I began to realize that I could channel the Ascended Master Saint Germain, a grand, humorous, and loving energy in spirit, for the purposes of writing this book and some to come.

My life’s journey has involved some surprising turns, and channelling is no exception to this. Let me explain how this development took place.

I guess I’ve been a student of metaphysics for years. In my late teens, my dad, who was a psychiatric nurse, brought home the book Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. It spoke about the power of the mind and how beliefs about ourselves and the world influence the way life appears to us. In other words, We create our own reality. I devoured this book and read it every day on my way to work on the Melbourne green rattler tram. Maxwell Maltz was a plastic surgeon, and through his profession, he began to understand that our beliefs regarding how we look were more than skin deep. For example, he would perform surgery on people to resculpture their nose or jaw or remove scars, and while some people were over the moon with the results, some could not see that they looked any different! He began to realize that through conditioning or specific negative events in a person’s life, he or she could develop images of him or herself that go deep, defy logic, and influence outcomes and impair the ability to live successfully.

Psycho-cybernetics and the many books I enjoyed after that, combined with in-depth discussions on life with my dad, created in me a yearning to know and understand more. From a spiritual point of view, I’d had some disappointing experiences with the church and steered away from any discourse on God. I became disillusioned and disconnected from spirit, which, in hindsight, was like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I’d confused religion with spirituality.

This was a shame, considering that at five years old, I possessed a very clear, pure understanding of what I called God. In response to my father asking me where God was, I immediately touched my hand to my heart and said, In here—it’s warm. Dad then asked, Is he anywhere else? I nodded and pointed to his heart. In there too—he’s in everyone. My agnostic father was quite fascinated at such conviction from his young daughter who had never been to church or Sunday school.

To be really honest, I’m glad I did have a deviation from my faith in a divine force, because when I re-embraced that purity and simplicity of belief that I’d had as a kid, it felt like coming home and was even deeper and more knowing because I’d had to rediscover it.

I guess I used to see God as the proverbial old wise man in the sky, but I now perceive this more expansive vision of the force that unites us all as consciousness, divine essence, or life force. This pure, loving, and sustaining energy is not removed from us; it is within us and all around us. It’s the All That Is.

Should some readers feel more comfortable with the words spark, force, or consciousness, I ask that they reference this read along the lines and terms of what they feel comfortable with. Please don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater as I did!

Now back to Saint Germain. Several years ago, I had a reading with metaphysical teacher, writer, and numerologist, Wendy Munro. Wendy died a year later, so I am ever grateful for the message she passed on to me from Ascended Master Saint Germain. I visited Wendy to get an overview of my life, knowing that I needed to do something of service, but I knew not what. Wendy conducted a numerology reading and then channelled Ascended Master Quan Yin. The channel with Quan Yin had just begun when Wendy said, Ooh, this has never happened before! Saint Germain has come in and wants to deliver a message to you through Quan Yin. I can’t channel Saint Germain myself.

I was a bit flabbergasted in the light of what Wendy had just told me fifteen minutes earlier. She’d said that I was going to develop a strong connection with someone in spirit and that through this connection, my life would change and I’d never feel alone again. It will be as if this spirit is your best friend.

So Wendy proceeded to tell me what Quan Yin was passing on from Saint Germain. I was on the edge of my seat by now, I can tell you!

Saint Germain commenced by explaining that the reason I had purchased a silver chalice with such a wide rim was that I had to let more love, joy, and abundance into my life. The chalice was also a symbol of my connection to him.

By this stage, I’d practically fallen off my seat because the week prior I had bought a silver chalice with an extremely wide rim, with crystals inlaid around the sides. I thought, I’m being watched!

Saint Germain proceeded to tell me that we would be writing books together after we had strengthened our connection with one another. The hairs on the back of my neck were doing somersaults by this stage!

The reading finished, and I had to sit in my car for ten minutes to process what I’d just heard. Me, channel Saint Germain! Unbelievable. I didn’t even really know who Saint Germain was, but something felt familiar!

I arrived back home, still in a bit of a daze, and went straight to my bookcase. There sat a purple book I’d been given by a friend about four years before. It was called twin souls and soul mates and was channelled by Saint Germain through Azena Ramanda and Claire Heartsong. Soul mates had been a concept dear to my heart forever, and I had read it without really registering its author. What a day!

Now you’d think I’d be searching the Net or whatever to take this all further, but no. Miss Resistance got on with her life and took no further action. Until …

About six months later, a friend of mine, Sue Short, rang to say that she’d begun to channel ascended masters. On asking her who she channelled, she mentioned Lady Mary, Quan Yin, Maitreya, Kuthumi, and a couple of others. Then, as an afterthought, she said, Oh and Saint Germain comes through occasionally, but for short periods. His energy is hard to hold for too long.

Instantly, I was back with Wendy Munro remembering the Saint Germain message! I’ll be there on Friday night! I gasped.

So Friday night, I was off to Sue’s, with a mixture of excitement and butterflies! I kept saying out loud in my car, Please come through, Saint Germain!

Well, Saint Germain came through all right. He alone came to speak that night, and Sue managed to hold his energy for the whole evening. At the end of his talk to us, he said, I will allow two questions only tonight.

Can you believe it? I could not open my mouth! I had come to ask Saint Germain questions, and I could not get a word out! Someone asked a question, one of world importance, and Saint Germain gave his answer. Then he said, One more question, and then I will take my leave. Do you think I could put my hand up? Oh no, I sat there thinking, I can’t just ask about myself, that’s selfish!

In due course, the second person asked a question and was answered. My heart sank. Here I was, begging Saint Germain to come through, and when he did, I couldn’t muster the courage to ask my burning question.

There was this awkward pause, and then Saint Germain said, There is someone sitting heavy in this group tonight, for whom I have come in. She hasn’t yet asked her question, but I will allow one more if she will speak up.

Sheepishly, I raised my hand and said, It’s me, Saint Germain. I’ve come to ask what you would have me do.

Lo and behold, Saint Germain launched into instructions on what we would do together, including several books, workshops, and healing, if this was my heart’s desire. For someone who had held the dream to become a writer, this was so exciting, so nerve-wracking, so out there; I was stunned!

Me? Write a book with Saint Germain! It was still preposterous even though it was the second time I’d received this message. Of course, I went into complete denial for a couple of months, but then little by little, I began sitting down with pen and ruled filing cards to ask Saint Germain if we could talk. At first, I posed mundane questions about problems in my life, but I began to realize, Hey, I’m not Robinson Crusoe here—many people need to hear Saint Germain’s answers. This is for everyone!

My self-esteem had to do a radical upgrade, I have to say, to trust what I was hearing from Saint Germain and to get through the disbelief that, of all the people he could write a book with, Saint Germain would choose me! A catch-cry of my mum’s had been, Well, who do you think you are, young lady? You can imagine the replay I gave this one!

In fact, I said to my son Jamie (who was eight years old at the time), You know, I’m having trouble getting my head around why Saint Germain would want to write with me. What do you think about it? He looked at me, rolled his big blue, innocent eyes, and said, Mum, he trusts you! Out of the mouths of babes!

I was used to my son being very profound, but his simple,
