About this ebook
Gasp! What could be worse than preparing for Science Fair when you have no idea what to do? A whole group of students preparing for Science Fair who don't know what to do, that's what. In this case, however, there is a lesser-known aspect of Science Fair at the high school filled with exceptionally gifted teens No Holds Barred day. No Holds Barred day only arises once every five years, and this is the fifth year. So the students get to use their powers however they want.
Laney and her friends want to leave what most students want to leave a legacy which has more to it than inventing glow-in-the-dark stain removal stuff. As things happen, the project goes awry and leads to a daisy-chain of events getting more and more discombobulated, until their project meets its end, sort of.
Imagine what the teachers must be thinking. Imagine what the students must be thinking. Imagine what Ms. Galardi must have been thinking. She goes from writing a thrilling story about love, loss, trust, getting up after defeat, being who you are, and a harrowing and emotional whirlwind adventure on another planet to writing about Science Fair. But after all, academics are important, aren't they? (Just say yes.)
Does she know something you don't? If she doesn't there is no reason for you to read this book. But she does, and you will know too. Just read the book and see for yourself. By the way, you may never look at your teachers the same way again. (Do any of your teachers think he or she is a werewolf?)
Welcome to Judi Galardi's THRAE BACK ATCHA! where Science Fair isn't the only extravaganza, but it sure comes close. After all, scientific discoveries usually start with an idea, or a mistake...
Judith A. Galardi
Judi Galardi is the author of RETURN TO THRAE, a book for children and other people, and copious poetry, including a collection for older teens and adults, both published by (1stBooks Library), AuthorHouse. To sound more impressive, she lists herself as the Editor: Judith A. Galardi, B.A., M.Ed., MLIS. (The three degrees are real.) She lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her family, creations and friends. Painting and drawing, exercising, working with horses and children, storytelling, problem-solving, bowling and wasting time are some of her hobbies. (Just not necessarily in that order.) Judith has worked as a babysitter (although she swears she never sat on a baby), grocery stock girl, college radio DJ, singer in a rock band, x-ray file clerk, teacher, computer consultant, Christmas elf, table server, librarian, dressage riding school working student, newspaper and technical writer, actor (including performing as various cartoon characters in a traveling childrens theater troupe and in a Shakespearean play), information specialist, softball coach, helpline counselor, archaeological dig site aide, political activist, and book, art, and performance reviewer. Judi enjoys reading her poetry and discussing her books at conferences, bookstores, and anywhere she can get children and adults to talk about reading. Her belief is that reading is integral to a fulfilled life, regardless of ones schooling or career; it just doesnt always have to be serious reading. She also encourages children to write, or tell stories to adults who can write their stories down for them we all have stories, we all can and should imagine. Our individuality is the stuff upon which dreams are made, (paraphrasing William Shakespeare). Those dreams become the ideas, inventions, hope, and/or silly jokes of the future. (Judi Galardi)

Booger and Phlegm Disclaimer
Boogers and phlegm are gross and can make you and/or anyone else sick. Keep them to yourselves. In fact, do not share boogers and phlegm with anyone, including yourself. Always wash your hands with soap and water after touching them, and anything else they may have come in contact with. Even if you touch a booger with your toe you have to wash your hands and your toe. If you use boogers and/or phlegm in your artwork, don’t let people touch that either. They will have to admire your artistic masterpiece from afar (or at least from a few inches) even if you added paint, sand or anything else to the work. In fact, you just go and wash your hands right now! You heard me. Don’t make me tell you again!

Sample Math Question: (Peculiar Standardized State Test) PSST
Every station agent has to wake up at the same time or not at all. Artimus woke up at 7. Tshane woke up at 12:15. Pupetti woke up at 6:45. Gaberdine hasn’t awakened yet. Wade woke up at 7 but went back to sleep. (Does that count as waking up with Hank?) Mary nearly woke up but Magna rolled over and knocked a picture off the wall. (Did it hit her in the head?) Did she fall back to sleep? What time did Mary nearly wake up? (Was Magna awake or asleep?) What time was it?
What time will the train running at 10 mph from San Diego encounter the train running at 200 mph from Baltimore in Akron?

An Opening Thought
A child went to the top of a hill and saw a rusting seesaw. How can I possibly seesaw without a friend? he pondered. So he tried running from one end to the other; a single child versus a single seesaw.
He inched up one side (the saw
side) on his butt, but that didn’t quite work. Slowly he crawled up the other side of the see
(not the saw
) side, determined to get the imposing plank to cooperate. As he approached the center, as it were – or fulcrum – he cautiously stood up, sideways. The seesaw wobbled and so did he. He inched his way sideways until he was perfectly balanced in the center of the seesaw. Truly, he managed to balance perfectly. Slowly he leaned to the right and that side of the seesaw went down (the see
side); then he leaned to the left and the other side went down (the saw
side).
He happily leaned back and forth, shifting his weight – riding the seesaw, thereby performing an impressive balancing act as well.
