About this ebook

This book will take you on a spiritual journey into the life of the authors experiences of being gay and Christian in America. It will focus on the taboos associated with homosexuality and the Bible based on the authors own personal opinions, and offer ways of overcoming societys negative views on the subject. This story focuses on the authors life growing up in a conservative Baptist church in a small, rural town where homosexuality was considered to be the greatest of all abominations before God.

The writer delves deep inside her soul to share the ups and downs of struggling for nearly 30 years, trying to cope with being a lesbian. Ultimately culminating with the author discovering Jesus Christ, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, gaining a sort of self-acceptance and peace of mind that allowed her to become comfortable with being a gay Christian.

The goal of this work is to hopefully help other lesbians and gays find Gods purpose for their lives, and to help non-gays understand the trials and tribulations of the gay community, to gain acceptance, and quell all misconceptions of Gods other children.

Author

Tara L. Molina

I was born in 1963 in a small town in Western Pennsylvania called New Castle. My passion for writing began there nearly 25 years ago when my 12th grade English teacher, Mr. Robert Craig, took notice of my creative writing ability, and submitted a poem that I had written entitled A Positive State of Mind to the National Poetry Press, Agoura, CA in 1981.  That was my first and only publication. After graduating from New Castle Senior High School, I moved to Pittsburgh, PA (my home for the past 21 years) and dabbled with writing short stories from time to time. Instead of pursuing my dream of becoming a well-known author, I got married at a young age, had one child, and became sidetracked by all the duties and responsibilities expected of a mother and wife.      During most of my life I struggled with issues concerning my own sexual orientation, but never had the courage to face the demons publicly. By the time I was 27, I found myself a divorced, confused, single mother, still in denial regarding my desire for same-sex relationships. It wasn’t until 8 years later that God finally led me to a life of self-acceptance.      By 2004, I found myself aspiring to continue with my writing, and to create a story that others in my situation could relate to, so I began to pick up where I left off 25 years ago with my hopes of becoming a well-known author. God has helped me realize that it’s never too late to cash in on a dream.
