DeAnna “Terasa” Horton
Born in New Jersey DeAnna "Terasa" Horton currently resides in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She is a single mother of a son and the eldest of three children. She has been employeed with the US Federal Government for over 21 years. She has always had a passion for writing but used it simply as a form of stress relief or when she was deep in meditation. For years she has composed works for others simply because they asked. Weddings, graduations, church programs, banquets, invitations, cards, funerals and more - all with that personal touch. Her signature "Just B'cause" was just that. She uniquely composed things-just because she was asked to do so, not for money or any reward or recognition. Not knowing what gift she was given she did not feel the desire to move forward if anything more than what she was doing. That is until she recalls being told she is blessed with breathing life into words and making them come alive. DeAnna has an intimate relationship with God. With that being said, she's been advised that NOW is her appointed time. Her desire is that others will be able to see God through her.

MY FATHER
DEDICATED TO MY HATERS
To all my haters all on me,
And the haters all around;
The haters that didn’t know,
That I stand on solid ground.
For the issues you may have caused me,
And the lies you may have spoken;
My joy, you thought you’d stolen,
And my spirit, you thought you’d broken.
The season of harvest is upon me
And I owe it all to you
’Cause when I saw you coming to step to me
I knew just what to do.
He who kneels most
Stands tallest . . . .

………….…….AUTHOR’S NOTE..………..….
Hoping that this series, touches someone’s heart
To the point where they understand—
That even in our darkest of hours
We are never alone… .
God wants us to speak to him and include him
In our lives not just when troubles arise.
Remember to always speak VICTORY into your situation.
Pressing through the negative to always search for something positive to be thankful for.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks; for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
dv071033a.jpgREFLECTIONS OF A STRUGGLE
ASPECTS OF WHO I WAS . . . .
Reflections of Struggles
The weight of many,
The understanding of few;
To conquer those things,
You must change your point of view.
Struggles are issues of life,
Most are lessons to be learned—
But put your faith and trust in Him,
And be not worried or concerned.
Trials are obstacles that block your path,
And at times don’t seem to cease;
Stepping back and letting go,
Will gain you insight and grant you peace.
Peace at mind holds such power,
Gives you the confidence you need;
Yet all you have to do,
Is within your heart—believe.
All battles belong to Him.
To be fought and won alike;
For He gave His only son,
As the ultimate sacrifice.
He tells us—
To lay our burdens down;
To wait patiently on Him,
For He will never leave us, cause He’s always around.
A Mother’s Thoughts
I want to be stern—yet understanding,
To comfort and to heal;
To be open-minded—yet reasonable,
But to still keep it real.
Times have changed, don’t you know—
From when we were kids, long—long—ago.
The discipline and guidance just isn’t the same,
And messed-up parents and society are those to blame.
You see, it’s hard these days
To raise a child all alone;
Teaching him right from wrong,
And other things I was shown.
And methods of teaching that worked on me;
Just don’t work on him I see.
Though often frustrated,
And consumed with such stress—
I thank God for my child,
For I am truly blessed.
The father just a donor, and now me a mother—
I’ll be this way, it seems now and forever.
A Difference
There’s a difference between
Becoming a mother and actually being one;
With the tears, sweat and many hats to wear,
And the endless road of hard work to be done.
There’s sacrifices that have to be made,
For the well-being of another;
Constant prayers and sleepless nights,
Just some requirements of being called Mother
.
Any female can become a mother,
By simply giving birth;
But being a mother reaps great rewards,
For what it’s worth.
Confusion
Wishful thinking amongst the stars—
Staring and struggling,
To figure out who you are.
Wondering where you’re going
Or where that path may lead you—
Hoping it’s the right direction,
To open doors you never knew.
What is it that you want from life
And where is it that YOU want to be?
Confusion . . . . that’s me!
What makes me different from any other chick—
That you’ve ever seemed to deal with?
I’m a woman… . Set on building a future,
Not out to destroy one—
Willing to deal with trails, as they come—
Not throwing in the towel, when all is said and done.
To establish a special bond,
You’d love, cherish and protect—
Not one in which
You’d ultimately regret.
One in which fond memories are made
Memories to call our own—
Not the kind of relationship
Wherein you wished you’d left alone.
To be your strength
In the weakest of times—
Not kicking you when you’re down,
And always giving you a piece of my mind
Never blaming you
When things tend to go wrong—
To be by your side
When others are long gone.
I’m in this for the long run,
This is
